historicaly correct
« on: 21-04-2009, 05:04:40 »
Hay FH2 team
would you make a separate download that is historically correct with the swastikas on the tails of the aircraft and on the flag.
separate so if it offends they dont have to have it
But if it messes up online play dont
Would it though? having something dif on the plane?

They can't, their devs are IN germany.

However, there MIGHT, EVENTUALLY be a texture pack, much like in FH1, to add those things for those of us who like historical accuracy.  However, that would be done by an independent party, NOT by the devs.

Because that would be stupid.. people playing different versions of FH2 is just absurd.

Its been asked god knows how many times this past while, who cares. It does not make the game any more fun to play with or without.

It wouldn't be a different version, it would be a texture pack, much like MrCheese's texture packs from FH1.  however, don't expect it soon, and do NOT expect it to come from the devs.

Let us not speak of that wonderful piece of work that Mr.Cheese did as just the Cheese Swazi pack.  Maybe my memory is not as sharp as it once was but I seem to remember this as being so much more then just a couple swastikas here and there.  Seemed to me it was a must have for any FHer.  Am I wrong?
EDIT:And was there awsome new sounds as well?

EDIT:  Ohh and please lets avoid talking about the symbols from here on out....I was not even aware texture packs could be done on FH2 and would really like to see this thread blossom on the tech side of it  before someone gets there panties in a bunch.

I speak again:
There is already a historical texture pack for FH2.

Where? I don't know.
Tip: search the old FH forums, I saw it there.

As I already said, I don't know anything about it. I only saw the screenshots and a download link.

No, search. I saw it, screenshots of swatsikas on the map Sfakia.

That was only a test done by one guy and never released in a pack of any kind.

At least what I have found.

Yup me as well...And unless I am missing something it looks like anyone with mad skills and lots of free time could do a texture pack with ease.

Thing is except for the historically correct bits I can't really think of FH2 textures/sounds that would need a beauty upgrade.  Then again I probably said the same thing before the cheese pack came along.   ;)

LOL at the thread with Ronin showing how it is done  The thread I was looking for was one I killed!   ;D
