Sandbag Shader (Nvidia) for other Mods.
« on: 08-04-2009, 01:04:08 »
I think this is an Nvidia problem only.

Is there a way of using the fixed FH Sandbag / wall shader for other mods I have installed ? Some maps in PR, DCon and other mods have the shimmering / mirror sandbags and walls problem. I am reluctant to turn down texture level as that does fix it but I feel like I'm being deprived of the full experience. I have asked this question elsewhere and have been told to "just find the fixed shader". But what do I do with it ?

Turning down your AA settings is the only fix I know off. I've never heard of anybody actually fixing the shader that handles that problem.

Ctz fixed the parallax shader in FH2, but it requires the client_shaders.zip in the mods/bf2 to be replaced when the mod is played. That's why FH2 needs to be run via a special program (fh2.exe) which takes care of swapping the file, to make sure BF2 continues to work.

If other mods want to fix the same bug, they can borrow our shader.

So can I keep the shader there to replace the one that gives the trippy sand bags / walls in other mods  ? Or is it tuned for use in FH alone ?
