FH´s Music
« on: 07-04-2009, 13:04:06 »
Hello Guys!
Some time ago we had a little package of FH-music in the old forum (with e.g. Lilly Marlene, Königgratzer Marsch,...) and i just wondered who is performing the Song which is called "El Cid". I looked for it in youtube and google but there seems to be many songs which are related to El cid (not a suprise) and no one of them was the song i looked for.
So does someone know the artist of this nice song?

PS. does someone have to pay GEMA-fees (sorry i don´t know what it is called outside of Germany ::)) when he uses those old songs for example as an intro for a live gig?

I got El Cid on my ipod, got no info on it though just took it out the FH files. Plus me and a friend also uploaded some music in the old forums, posted it there. Maybe you downloaded that one. It had no Königsgratzers march in it though.

If you want to take out the music yourself: C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\fh2
Go there and then open the .zip file called common_client, I think they where in there. If not try some other files.

Any thread about Forgotten Hope's music cannot pass without this link. Ah.... it brings back memories of before my video card died... and I could actually play FH2  :(

Yes, what is the music ? Is it credited somewhere ? The period has some very unusual and moving performances. Battlegroup Fontlines also has some unusual Russian music in their last (final?) releases. I'll have to check the compressed archives ... maybe they are named in there.

I love Preußens Gloria (I know, not in FH2, but still cool ^^):

And of course, THE classic song. Soldiers on both sides of the front listened to it. It´s "Lilli Marleen":

"Ich hatt einen Kameraden", great song, but very sad...

And so he spoke, and so he spoke, that lord of Castamere,
But now the rains weep o'er his hall, with no one there to hear.
Yes now the rains weep o'er his hall,
and not a soul to hear.

Well the music is quite of a good quality considering when they were recorded.  :)

But really, I want that one in FH2's Alpenfestung, playing from a grammophone in a lone alpine hut / alm  ;)

All that reminds me of Robert Shaw as Colonel Hessler at the end of the Battle of the Bulge. As he manically drives his tank into the flames he flash backs to scenes accompanied by this kind of music.

Can there be a music thread without pointing at old classics?

I usually imagine my own sounds with it, like `tjunk, tupdieyupdiedee` aaa enemy spotted, ratatatataboom
