You need to texture the surrounding terrain. You could use BF2Tpaint for that.
It's half naked people on boats. That's all.
Here in Finland we call that "summer".

Well that worked, i just painted a bit and it seems to be OK.

Well thats an improved Church..

Just a quick question for all, Aachen is an old Medieval city, with many medieval places. Now i was thinking about something, a Castle. Somewhere in the North of the Map, inside the city. I can see there are Towers but i dindt saw any Wall or something. I think i can use Giarabub Walls as placeholders, but i think it would look to Middle Eastern-ish.

Now my real problem is, it is uselfull? it wont be a flag, but maybe a mortar and a couple of MGs. So yeah, maybe nobody will be in there.

No. Definitly not. No castle in Aachen. It's Medieval, but it always was a centre of commerce and religion, meaning it has a nice dome, many monasteries and old shops with small and tight roads in the city centre.r

Community means Answers.

My question is, What would you like to see in this map?.

This is a project for the Community, honestly, i really dont know what would you like to see. Instead, im doing What i would like to see...

So, you should answer my question, What would you like to see?

Any new flags?

More Vehicles?

Weapons?

Terrain?

Statics?

What?..

Now im working with the Hill-ish terrain. Then i will start working on the Railway. There will be a RailWay heading to Aachen, the entrance will be on East. Then, perhaps, you can tell me what kind of grass would you like to see, Modders Specify, with Grass Name and stuff. Then more suggestions.

All suggestions are welcome! my mind is out of ideas, now its your turn to keep Aachen Project alive!

Work on the terrain and make sure that there were KT's etc..., should not be a kinderparty for all the "best" tanks in FH2. I like it to be quite historically correct ;)

Good luck!

It would be correct if he would create the whole city of Aachen but that wont fit in an FH2 map, with this map I would go for the fun factor, with maps like Brest I would go for accuracy.

Keep up Tore, I personally like trenches and bunkers with spawn points to clear out. Strongholds  :P

This map needs one crucial vehicle=The M12. US Forces used them in the direct fire role, simply to wipe out buildings.

One KT and Two Tiger Late are what i call the "best"

I would love to recreate the entire city, a small map perhaps. But theres a big lack of Statics, so the city will be extremly repetitive and losing some fun. Also the ammount of work would be gigantic.

The "Gold" of the battle of aachen can be found on its outskirts, too many counterattacks by the germans and some failures for the allies. Outside, there was alot of German defenses, too many i'd say.

But i cant make it :P, i would love to see that, a P47 and a Sherman with that 105mm Cannon. It was 105mm? For now, the allies should have superiority in Arty, some mortars and one or even 2 25pdrs. And the nasty M8 thats for sure.

I have seen the church of Aachen, and it was more like a cathedral than that smallish cagny church. You need something muuch more bigger and magnificent!
I'd rather play Kimble with my ass!

If that church is located on the Center of Aachen, then my "Church" is ok. Remember what i call Aachen in this map is the surrounding areas, and a bit of the Outskirts.

Maybe a small idea of recreating the importance of those trench networks: make the defensive line flags so it's a bit like Siege of Tobruk but with grass, more awesome equipment and a more infantry friendly environment. And a larger piece of urban combat ofcourse.

^ That my friend... that. :D

I have done, 80% of the Railroad. It was a big headache. Theres a stopped train on it, i might add a Double MG34 on it but is kinda useless.

You mean a big Trench Line? coming from East ending on West?

Thats aprox 2km of Trenches *i came.
