Mac users, what's your recipe for success ?
« on: 11-02-2016, 18:02:36 »
Hi all.
I bet there are at least a few people out there rocking the game in Mac OS X.
How have you done it?
(I had a PC back in the days 2009 but now I have a Mac and a big craving for fh2)

Anyway, I have tried a few different ways.
VMware with XP- it works online and offline, but poorly.
Crossover(wine) - offline works like a charm. Really smooth. Online doesn't work at all.
Bf2 for Mac - no online and especially not fh2. Offline works good.

I have searched for this topic without success.
Thanks in advance.

For a while, i've played using Bootcamp. It worked very well.

(but now i've got a dedicated windows computer for video games, plus when i did a mac upgrade - ssh + ram - i've lost the bootcamp)

Thanks for your input! :)
I'm going for Bootcamp as we speak. The next option is to buy a dedicated gamingcomp like yourself.

 ;) you don't need that !
I have a mac mid 2012 and it ran FH2 without problem on bootcamp

I bought a dedicated pc only for fallout 4 (and of course i've intalled FH2 on it)

I've got the game run on wine on linux, with online. I don't see how os x would be that much different in that regard? Where do you fail with wine?

i3 with integrated intel runs the game surprisingly well on medium settings with 720p resolution.

Hi. I fail at the login. I just can't login with my account.
It just waits eternally for the account server.
But I have given up on that. I am now installing fh2 in a tidy, fresh bootcamp environment in win 7.
Thanks Seth soldier 😉

Yes it worked perfectly! :)
For future reference, in case any macowner wants to to what I wanted to do.
Just install bootcamp. It's much faster than any wine-stuff and it saves you time. You don't have to mess around.

Plus I want to add that 40GB hdd space is a bit too small for a win7 install with bf2+fh2. It's enough, but not much space left.
See you on that Ragnarök-thing friday night!
