@ Deltaforce: a cool thing about that game was that you could wander off endlessly. The world was empty, but also limitless. It made a great passtime wfor when you were out of your mind ;)

Haha, yeah it was awesome. Also, project IGI,  and the early editions of the rainbow six series were like that. Back then, I just had to figure out a game by myself or with my brother and cousins. ;D

Probably BF2 or BF1942. The one I'm 100% sure was Super Smash Bros Melee and Star Wars Rogue Leader.

I was planning to open a thread about the old ones (mid 2005 to late 80s),seems someone was faster than me.  :D

The last cardboard cover game I've had (have, actually),IIRC,was Perfect Dark. I really wish I could have counted the amount of hours I've spent playing it and Goldeneye 007.

Thanks for the share mate. Aah star wars games are one of the best series. I played it alot on the Super Nintendo (Super star wars). Man, that game was hard. No safe option :o

I used to play a lot Star Wars Shadows of the Empire. The most characteristic thing of the game were the enemies falling from the cliffs and screaming "AAaaahh!". And the bosses, which were a pain.

Some years ago I've started to try to find all the games I've played a long time ago, mostly Mega Drive and SNES games, but some PC games as well. The list is almost complete. Here are some good old gems from the few bits era:

Binge played this game when as a kid.

Very hard and beautiful game

For years tried to find the name of this one. The image of the generic Berlin Wall being rammed by a tank plus that level music struck in my head since I was a kid!

Played this game at a friend's house once. We both cracked our asses laughing at our players kicking the rival team player's balls. We even managed to get a red card that day,IIRC.

Toilet humour at its best.

My favorite Dos and windows 95 games

Pitfall: The mayan adventures

Raptor: Call of the shadows

Jill of the jungle

and the worst game I have ever played was..

The adventures of captain comic. This game is such a pain in the a$$, and the music gives you the chills. Never attempt to play it  ;)

Captain Comic was the first video game I ever played.  It was difficult, but I was also only about five years old.

My first game was CnC. Up to this date it is my favorite game series. Best soundtrack(s) ever by Frank Klepacki.

Generals was also good, but everything after that was destroyed by EA.

MoH:AA is like Saving Private Ryan all over. I too was hooked by it, until FH community educate me. It is quite campy by today's standards. But I absolutely love it back then. The sound track by Michael Giacchino is epic. I like this particular variation on the MoH main theme (starts at 2:49):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N1WPfxz0Jdo

AoE2, Settlers 3, CnC: Red Alert. I love strategy games. When I am done with war and death.

Yes, this runs in my trusty Compaq Presario 4772. It also runs Jane's ATF Gold and Longbow quite decently. I also ventured a bit into Microsoft FS95 with this machine. Games back then are often packaged with demos, tons of demos. The FS95 has Monster Truck Madness demo with it.

About game packages:
Jane's titles are usually accompanied by hard cover binder University text book-thick manual. They also include some voucher to play online (yes, you have to pay to use their match-making server back then). I used to carry them around as reading material for traveling.

The last boxed games I bought was Microsoft Flight Simulator X (2006). It was a triple DVD package. The size of the media alone allows the big manual material to be put inside the disc.
