Change FOV / Using Widescreen Fixer??
« on: 23-03-2015, 13:03:54 »
Greetings gentlemen,
I have a problem.
My Forgotten Hope 2 is running well on my 16:9 monitor (1366x768), but the low FOV is making me really sick thus I really can't enjoy playing FH2.
I found there is a feature called Widescreen Fixer, but I don't know how to use this thing in FH2. It's just not working.
I'd like to ask for help and for tips what to do with FOV and Widescreen Fixer.
Thanks a lot!
>TR<

Update: I forgot to notice that when FH2 is running, Widescreen Fixer is not detecting it, bacause it is not Battlefield 2...

i'd ask widescreen fixer's plugin developer for battlefield 2 since fh2 is a mod of bf2 and they support it. he can be emailed or contacted via google hangouts at the following address: d.rudie@gmail.com

not that i know them, its just what i would do.

I'd like to see a fix for this in a later patch for Forgotten hope 2.

Patch 1.50 (in 2009) added widescreen capability -that is, allowing resolution selection in-game and rendering it correctly (though not the HUD) to expand the horizontal view while maintaining the same player perspective. Before that, forcing a widescreen resolution by any means would distort the aspect ratio and/or vertically crop the view.

As an alternative to widescreen, try 1024x768 with AR 4:3 but make sure to disable GPU and display scaling. Also noted here: http://fhpubforum.warumdarum.de/index.php?topic=20154.0

Thanks for answer! I've found this thread before, but I didn't find it useful... I don't know how to disable display scaling for I have nVidia graphic card (GT 740M - yep, it's laptop). I'll try Google, but I was looking for this feature in past and had no luck with that.

They should update the HUD to a higher quality version for people with higher resolution widescreen monitors.
