War in the Pacific

Battle #5   Invasion of the Philippines

In the final battle, we end near the beginning.  The Empire of Japan launches a combined arms invasion of the US territory in the Philippines, determined to drive the Yanks out of their sphere of influance.  The US forces must struggle to hold them off and stop the Japanese conquest in it's tracks.  This classic map features a jungle covered archipelago that will set the backdrop for wild aerial battles, intense ship to ship action, and grueling hand to hand combat.  Enjoy the Pacific mod in all its glory!

The changes were minor, so no changelog.
We did add a knee mortar and made the katanna a two-handed weapon.  Everything else was loadout tweaks on the maps.

This thread would be better for bug reports atm:  http://fhpubforum.warumdarum.de/index.php?topic=20110.90

Notice the server for today's game is different than prior campaign matches; it's the same as for the Event last Saturday.

It is the new WaW 100-player server at 209.222.20.118

For the planned map today, Invasion of the Philippines, the changes I could see by looking at differences in the files are as follows; not all so minor, actually:

* JP get the kneemortar infantry spawn kit instead of turtlemine kit.
* US gets satchel infantry spawn instead of comp b.
* US gets Fletcher changed to a reinforcement, (get it when Allies bleed).
* JP gets antitank infantry spawn kit,  (this compliments what the US already had, the tankhunter).
* Ship supply/repair static put in.
* Airfield get supply/repair static.
* JP pickup sniper kit fixed.
* US gets hellcat instead of wildcat.
* Flag cap time reduced, (from 60 sec for each getting and losing control phases to 45 sec each)

There could always be server-side changes, too.  But those are rare and usually just for critical errors.  I haven't seen any need for that... at this point.

Welp. How to put it?
First of all, i had zero fun on the first map and left after the first round.

Reasons:

A) extremely unbalanced teams

We were always 6 people less than the enemy team which is huge in a game with only 25-30 players. plus we had like 2-4 afkers all the time.
the admins didnt do anything about it except being salty, which brings me to point B

B)unfriendly admin(s)

I didnt complain about the balance for almost the entire game, but at some point it was so frustrating and zero fun, so i asked "how is this supposed to be fun with these teams?" not more not less! and 1 time only and it was god damn justified.
but unfortunatly the only reply by geopat was that he called me out as a whiner. and its no fun playing with whiners therefore implying its no fun playing with me. which is extremly cheeky! especially after not doing anything to even out the teams until the very end.

i was always wondering why so many players dont care about this "great" event and still rather play on a pub server. well maybe i found the answers. maybe i just got unlucky. who knows. but i can say for sure that this experience killed all my motivations to play in this event.
