How to join an online server?

Hello fellow wwii entusiasts. I just installed BF 2, updated to version 1.5 and installed FH2. The only problem is that I see no servers to join and I haven't found anything useful on Google, that made me any wiser on how to succeed in joining a server.

I can't create an online profile in game. I believe this is due to the fact that EA has shut down it's servers.

Any help is appreciated.

To see online servers, you need an online account.

For creating one, I believe you can do this ingame, I even did a "test profile" run not that long ago; so it should work. If I remember correctly, retrieving accounts you cannot do (with Gamespy shutdown being the cause of it, like you said).

To create an online profile you have to go to the launcher's options, set <none> profile in "login as" setting, launch the game and CREATE online profile ingame. You cannot retrieve your old account if you had any, so don't try that. You can create a profile using exactly the same nickname as you had in your old profile though.
