"Save my marrige!"
« on: 30-06-2014, 14:06:13 »
Right - my wife to be wants to play FH2 with me.

We've done it before, back around Christmas - I had to buy a second copy of BF2 for us to be able to play at the same time, but it worked - although it was frustrating because the old computer (from 2005) could just about run FH2. Now we both have pretty powerfull gaming computers - but when we try to log onto the same server at the same time one of us gets a 'CD-key invalid' message.

With the latest changes, is it still possible to go gaming together?  8)

She's definitely a keeper!

Just buy another copy of Bf2 for like 5 bucks online.

Seems like he did, as he said "I had to buy a second copy of BF2".

But err, dumb question maybe, but you did use two different cd-keys when you installed BF2, right? :D

Maybe I didn't..., can you tell somehow...?

I have an old BF2 copy that I bought in 2007, that is the old school CD package.

Earlier this year I bought a second copy of BF 2 through origin, which is of course a download - in order for us to play together - but my old computer was starting to show it's age so I decided to get a third computer - which means we now have three computers (the old computer and two newer, pretty powerful computers).

Maybe I did a booboo when installing..., investigating...

I can't really help you with your issue, but I have to say....

Your wife sounds awesome. You are a lucky man.

Do you have any other mods installed for BF2 like PR:BF2 for example?

I would just go with the assumption that you done goofed.  Despite having 3 copies of BF2 kicking around here and 4 copies of 1942 I have always been pretty lucky but I can see how easy it would be to to use the same code on both computers.  There is actually a way to check out your CD key for each install if I recall.  Anyone remember this or am I dreaming?

Wow, that's great.  Does she have a sister - Preferably one who is a physician, successful stock broker, or has family money?

I found this on line.  I remember a similar key generator for BF1942 that I used once to fix an issue with my nephew's installation.

Good luck.
