As a new guy to FH2, I've been experiencing the butt-end of this alot...getting ripped by a stacked team, with the double fun of heaps of abuse as I stumble through the learning process.  A certain amount is to be expected.  But I see alot of players get ripped for asking basic questions.

As a general rule of thumb I'd stay away from the all chat. That place has become a breeding ground for frustrated players and dumb ass conversations. For example today there was a running conversation on if 'kraut' is racist and if people should be allowed to type it into all chat for historical accuracy ::)

You sound like you're doing the right thing tho. Get in a squad with a good experienced SLer and listen to him and have fun :) a lot of the experienced FHers are good people who like helping new people and wanna help this mod succeed. if I had a working mic id help contribute. I hope you stick around and don't get too frustrated.

Team Stacking & Admin abuse is getting to epic proportions on 762.
As a new guy to FH2, I've been experiencing the butt-end of this alot...

I feel very ashamed for many veteran players who do not respect new players. It went so far that some of them are insulting for reporting their abusive behaviours, insulting other players, developers and testers for no good reason. Number of servers trolls is getting bigger, admin abuse is indeed very common and I experienced a lot of it in the past weeks together with no admins at all but what makes me sad the most is the fact that head of 762 admin team is not mature and serious at all. My online play time is very limited but I'm going to gather some evidence of such behaviours and report them on their forums, maybe we should open special topic about these here so nobody will drive topics like this offtop anymore. It will be easier to send proper reports to 762 team, not every player use 762 forum, I bet many new players are not even aware of its existence.

Team stacking is a general problem in gaming, not only in FH2. The more you play FPS games the more you will notice that one team rips apart the other one most of the time. Only solution is to be the bigger man and stay on the side where you are. Things get even more problematic with asymmetrical games like FH2. I recently got into Heroes & Generals again and there it is even more extreme as the matchmaking relies on the desicions of other people and not an algorithm. Same song for war Thunder, BFBC2 or RO2 and the likes.

That said, I am playing FH2 with my buddies. We hang out in TS and try to play together. Last time Slayer joined the TS and wanted to get switched to our side. That's no big deal if you ask me and I switch everyone who is asking for it, though this will naturaly still result in a stronger team. But what you can't switch off is the auto team balance. It is a compromise after all. If we mix up the teams after every round people start to whine, that they can't play with their friends.

That you noticed trouble on the server is something that will happen from time to time. Last weekend a good amount of admins was on a camping trip, so it's difficult to judge what happened from the distance. It is still a voluntary thing and we invest the time that we can. The gamespy switch makes things even more difficult.

So please bare with us. We will nevertheless cladly take the feedback and see what we can improve to make it more enoyable. See you on the server  ;)

But chat being retarded has been a problem since 2.0. My god, sometimes I wonder if people log in just to be in a ww2 themed virtual chat and not actually playing at all.

Sometimes I'm manning an mg position or something and it's a nice distraction while I'm waiting.

Good god, does having a good squad and squad leader make a difference.  I had a phenomenal time today with $tallker as squad leader.  On Sidi Rezegh (fave map) it really made for a fun round, great teamplay and wonderful communication.  We were doing great.

Also, I had a bunch of fun as a Carro Armato tanker today on Bardia (despite the constant groans whenever an Italian map is played by everyone besides me).  I actually killed two tanks with one shell, which I didn't even know was possible.  Things were going well until I got cocky and took a Matilda head on, which of course resulted in a fiery demise.

Normandy's great and all, but imo Africa is always going to be the heart of FH2.

Sidi Rezegh (fave map)

I love Sidi as well. I can totally understand why people dislike it, but I has a special place in my heart. It's got a "real" feel to it. The Brits and Jerrys (Jerries?) going head to head, with the airfield in the middle, swapping possession. And it's just damn beautiful, one of the most immersive maps for me.

Not really a "weekend" story, this happened a while ago, but a good one for Sidi: I was a scout for Germans and I held off about 3 waves of British attackers with my binoculars. Had about 6-7 spotting assists wiping out squads hiding out in craters, and then coordinated fire from the 88s against incoming armor. Best part was that I was hiding in a static wrecked truck bed. Had a nice elevated view of the battlefield in front of me, and a cozy spot to hide in.

Normandy's great and all, but imo Africa is always going to be the heart of FH2.

Here here. *Raises glass. Spent many, many hours in that desert before Normandy was released, and still cherish every chance there is to get back.

Most awesome round of Omaha, ever!
I did never ever so many TKs, but we won. With 12 - Fucking - tickets. When capturing Vierville we were only down to 65 Tickets.

Jimi, Your last push to the flagzone of Vierville safed the round, but was so damn risky.

Jimi, we are awaiting the Battlereport!

I was on this round just now! 8)

Was a SL for the first half till my comp CTD'ed

My squad and Jimi's squad were responsible for taking WN71 and getting a foothold on the cliffs.
Then CTD :(
Then I finished off the round as a riflemen in anther squad. The excitment for me really got taken away after I got disconnected. I jumped back on the US side and thought we weren't gonna be able to hold out. That last half of the map always turns out fun as all hell tho once you cap those WNs 8)

I checked the server list at random and when I saw that Omaha was playing I thought: Meh, might as well. Turned out to be a really great round. IMO the map works best with 64 players or something in the ballpark.

that ticket addition was all it needed. It's an awesome map now. A struggle and a half for the first half. Then fun as hell in the second. As the Germans its fun on both halves imo

I couldn't for the life of me figure out the ship arty dials. 4 tks and 1 kill is not what I was aiming for tho I took care to check the arty marker. Also ship arty has a lot of smoke which can be very useful at first stages of the map.
