That being said, the French would probably be the first FH2 army without spawnable smgs.
The French did have one - Mas 38. Who knows how many were equipped though.
In FH1 I loved its fire sound.
That was the most common one, however it only started to arrive on the frontlines in May 1940, a months before the collapse. It was probably used more often by the Germans than by the French. That was also the gun that was used to execute Mussolini, btw. All in all almost 2000 of those were made.
The French had other smgs though, which were used in very small numbers by Group Franc special forces during the phoney war in 1939 and early 1940.
