CCD: Russian Driving Simulation Game
« on: 02-03-2013, 11:03:39 »
Hey, any of you guys heard City Car Driving?

Browsed a couple of YouTube videos, this is actually quite fun.

And this game is highly moddable too! Makes it much more fun than Gran Turismo or Forza, even that NFS series, or SimBin titles. Who wants to race everyday, when you can just "drive" one?

Well not all fancy cars, but you got pacified ones like

Is it wrong to imagine this game is all about dodging incoming cars/pedestrians/truck wheels/cows/tanks?
It's half naked people on boats. That's all.
Here in Finland we call that "summer".

I totally thought it was a paody game about russian drivers when I read the title. Like you see everything through a dashboard camera and people are trying to scam your out of your money by trying to jump in front of your car. Aso the occasional meteor of course.

Seems useful, when you make your drivers lisence. Otherwise I personaly can't see any fun or entertainment. It actually looks quite good for a simulator though, a point where most simulators struggle alot.

I think I will stay with rfactor and it's mods when it comes to driving sims. Racing is more my cup of tea  ;D

Exactly what I was thinking.

What happens to the pedestrians if you run over them?
How well are large pile-ups modelled?
Is it possible to drift in reverse (cf. the Forza 4 video "Dubstep Audi"?)
Is there a "video recorder" or instant replay function, preferably with external angles?

If the game is "easily moddable", I sense the makings of Carmageddon reboot here...

I'll download this when there is an M1127 I can drive in it. Fully functional LRAS

The pedestrian will only scream in agony when you run over them, and lay still on the walkway.

I don't know about drifting/tire physics here. But on some videos, some people made a short brake slide when raining.

It doesn't punish you from doing anything you like in this game, so it is a simulator alright. But you are constantly warned if you do something dangerous in-game like changing lanes without blinkers/turning sign, speeding, getting too close to other vehicles, do not yield to pedestrian on "yield" sign, etc. So it is mainly educational, with so many potentials.
