A M4A1 with the 76mm is still a M4A1.

Whether the Sherman armour on the M4A3 is upscaled or not doesn´t really matter as the 75mm/L48 still penetrated without trouble at 500 metres/ingame tables (96mm I think which is still higher than the even further upscaled value).

You may discuss this here, bad, good, axis bias, allied bias, however it is unlikely to affect our decision on it.
Well, this puts an end to the discussion, but as a player I say: "Meh".
He got banned for our sins. He was not the member FH forums deserved, he was the member we needed.

@Ts4ever: And the point is?

Ofcourse the M4A3 has stronger frontal armor. I guess nobody is going to argue this.

But for the KwK 42 L/70 of the Panther it is equal, whether he is facing a M4A1 or a M4A3. He will crush both of those tanks from the front with one shot over 1000 metre with ease. It doesn't make any difference whether you face a M4A3 or a M4A1 ingame btw as I already showed in my vids. It is random how you kill them.

In FH2 all heavy tanks are kinda dumbed so I would always choose a medium tank over a heavy one. A Panther over a Tiger and a Sherman over a Churchill. There are only few exceptions where the heavy tank plays like a heavy tank. Mareth Line and Eppeldorf are the best examples. And yes, in it's current state the Sherman plays like a heavy tank:
I was sitting in a foxhole with my foxy M4A3 yesterday on St. Vith and on the 4-bars-left-and-burning margin after a critical Panther hit and loughing my ass off as tas was trying to kill me at fog range with his Panther and the only sound I heard was this "plong, plong, plong" and a "sigh" from tas in the TS. I retutned fire several times and gave him the rest. Oh, tas was sad as I can tell you.  ;D
I remember the days when it was like this in a Tiger I.

Please take it with humor. Some people had a good laugh with this flanking Tigers story  ;)

Not to mention the wet ammo rack storage and safer fuel tank allocation, all justify the current Sherman M4A3's ability to withstand a hit from a 75mm KWK40

If you argue against THAT fact, and i mean this fact=
Quote
Naturally, we cannot account for everything. Thus the sherman 75mm will in no circumstance be able to penetrate the Panther's frontal ingame.
However, the Sherman M4A3 in Bulge will be able to survive one, but not two, frontal shots from the Panzer IV.

Also I got a lot of work to do, so may not have time to type up long replies like this one.

If you argue against this, then you care NO THING WHATSOEVER about balance.

Currently all tanks have problems

I see you and others bitching about POOR german panzers

But i see NONE of you mentioning the fact that a M36 jackson/slugger needs 2 shots ATLEAST to take out a kingtiger tank from the SIDE

KT side armour= 80mm
90mm M3 penetration= over 140mm at 1000 meters.

So all of you shut up about it, dammit :/

But i see NONE of you mentioning the fact that a M36 jackson/slugger needs 2 shots ATLEAST to take out a kingtiger tank from the SIDE

KT side armour= 80mm
90mm M3 penetration= over 140mm at 1000 meters.
Same applies to your Churchill. Panther, Tiger and even Panzer IV etc. could penetrate the sides. However those (King Tiger and Churchill) are heavy tanks and not on every map (There are actually only 3 KTs in the game which get penetrated frontally). M4A3s and Sherman Vs are on every european map that has tanks.

90mm M3 penetration= over 140mm at 1000 meters.
126mm @ 500 metres, at 1000 metres it would be 120mm with APCBC - you just added 20mm of penetration.  :(

Not to mention the wet ammo rack storage and safer fuel tank allocation, all justify the current Sherman M4A3's ability to withstand a hit from a 75mm KWK40
That´s your opinion. But fact is the thing got penetrated. And no crew whose tank gets penetrated by a 75mm shell keeps on fighting. Someone is dying for sure in that tank, maybe it didn´t catch fire as often as the previous versions, but the machine was definately out of working order and the crew wasn´t feeling like having a picknick.

If you argue against this, then you care NO THING WHATSOEVER about balance.
If you mean boring mirror balance, well then no. There are other ways to create balance than pimping up a tank known to be fragile to insane levels.

You are talking a bit to much about tanks for somebody who appears on the servers 3 times a year.

Edit: I have yet to see someone here suggesting the Panther or KT to stand shots to the side. In fact nobody of us did that. But the omni-present Shermans on every map, everywhere, that stand 2+ hits become a serious annoyance. Panzer IV and StuG (also medium tanks) are usually down with 1 shot in my experience, if you don´t hit the 80mm plate.

Other people and me allready mentioned the poor performance of several guns, no matter whether german or allied asset. I play enough on both sides to know what I am talking about. I even created videos to show some issues.

And we won't shut up. Some of us got hired for beta testing and giving feedback, and that's exactly the thing we will do - pointing out problems. And the current tank system is clearly one of them.  ;)

Thank you shitty and butcher for pointing this out atleast someone interested in actually arguing.
The most important point is TheTao isnt playing mutch, his opinion isnt saying verymuch.
on historical facts definitly! But on gameplay issues rather not.
