The PPSH and PPS. ruskis loved them. DP28's aswel. Now these types of weapons got issued alot more then westren armies did. With 6 million PPSH and 3.5 million PPS, it is no surprise that at some points 1 out of 5 and even 1 out of 4 russian soldiers where armed with an SMG. Far more then westren armies wich often deployed one SMG per platoon.
This is the official infantry devision strenght and equipment issued per year. I took my time to type this over from a trusty Red army book written by Phillipe Rio. So my suggestion? give the ruskies in 1943 and especially 1944 maps more SMG's and LMG's then the axis. They are gonna need it considering the far less performing DP28 vs MG34/42 and the far bigger number STG 44's in eastfront then in normandy
