i belive this is why http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3172156 , filefront is a subsidary operation of 1up and ugo where not interested in operating filefront.  Best bet is a third party has stepped in or ugo has made a dramatic u turn, i suspect it is the former

I miss filefront.

I liked the design there better, the bright blue and grey colours were somehow... easy on the eyes.

I have no idea what's going on at the moment, it's all very confusing.

Either way, if somehow FileFront didn't go down, I do think we'd be much better off at our new forum here - so I for one would support us leaving that place.

Maybe it was all a conspiracy to get rid of us troublesome FHers to begin with: they knew that since we used them for the official FH forums, we would be forced to create our own new community once they went down. Then, once we had settled elsewhere, they could go back up with the pleasing knowledge that we'd be too well established in new forums to want to go back to them.

Or not.  :P

This is a horrible april fools joke, if it is one. But if you read threw this thread: http://forums.filefront.com/gaming-forums-feedback-questions/395979-wow-what-going.html , you'll see that the staff are still saying its not a joke, and the forum may not stay up.
