Some quotes about the T-34 from here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T-34"Some Panzer IV tanks and StuG III assault guns armed with the longer, higher velocity 7.5cm KwK 40 L/43 (or the longer L/48 guns) had also begun appearing on the Eastern Front by late 1942. This later gun was capable of destroying a T-34 frontally at around 1,000 metres."
- That´s
1000 metres... we are talking about only 500 metres in FH2. Should be an easy kill.
"However, in 1944 the Soviets lost 23,700 fully tracked AFVs (only 2,200 of which were light tanks): this was the highest number of AFV losses in a single year by any country in history.[87] Of these 58% were T-34s, the majority of those being the new up-gunned and improved T-34/85s. Despite having the operational and strategic advantage and Soviet losses were about 4 tanks for every German tank destroyed."
"It can be argued that the T-34 was a ‘war winning’ tank on a strategic level, but this should not detract from the fact that at a tactical level its performance during four years of continuous war was relatively poor."
- I´m not convinced by the armour of the T-34. It lost its power when the long 7,5cm was introduced. Its armour was easily penetrated at
1000 metres. The losses occured mainly versus the standard 7,5cm KwK 40 and later Panzerfausts.
- Further Germans aimed directly at the part between turret and hull to get certain kills.
- You know the old phrase from german tank crews? "Don´t worry about the Russian, he will miss the first shot." But we propably won´t have the difference in optics.
- The result of giving that tin can the ability to stand 7,5cm htis would be the same disaster as we have now. Panzer IV etc. getting off the first shot and then being 1S1K by the 85mm, which is bullocks (if the Panzer hits first).
