Aegean Islands
« on: 06-04-2012, 12:04:31 »
Possibly a silly suggestion, but have the Aegean Islands ever been considered? The British SAS performed some raids on German (iirc) defenders. Sorry, I don't have much information on the campaign, but as far as I'm concerned, more commando maps the better :P

I love how they search for bombs with metal detectors over a steel rail.

I saw that movie a few weeks ago, not bad, the concept would be nice.

The fact that the island of "Navarone" doesn't exist should be a pretty big hint...

Well that's embarrassing. I've read some articles on google about SAS soldiers serving on/around these islands though, what's that all about?

Actually, the Alistair McLean's novel was based on Battle of Leros.

Maybe if you are interrested in commando raids, you could take a look at this : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Commando_operations_during_the_Second_World_War

Thank you! I love this stuff, really hoping that more commando maps are including, or in the distant future, a commando map pack.

Operation Hyacinth is also kind of commando.

But that's hardly a commando operation, more of a direct assault.

edit: Yeah i guess hyacinth is one.
