What's a budget got to do with it?

AMD is simply better value for the money.

what I meant was that if I could afford spending hundreds of $$$ on my PC components then I could go for intel as it's supposedly better processors (I dunno I stick to AMD for the reason you stated but I supposed that top intel > top AMD processor, if I'm wrong then never mind)

if i compared Intel to AMD in the store, i would have payed 50% more for like.......4% increase in performance on one type of graphic?

My AMD lasted 6 years with no problems. My mate's AMD lasted 8 years untill his PC was stolen(SO IT STILL RUNS I BET)

well

despite the great performance increase i was starting to see some lagging on very large bf3 maps

i asked for 8 Gig of RAM

but when i checked it with dxdiag and task manager, it clearly says= 4096MB physical memory

Looking trough the ventilation duct, i can also clearly see only one part of RAM
And when i check the site's parts catalog, there is no 8GB of ram

I cant read it from this distance how much exact RAM it is

But i think they forgot to add "8 gig"
Origenally these PC's where built with 4 gig of ram but i requested 8 gig of ram

better make a phonecall tommorows

If you want to know exactly what RAM you have, download CPU-Z: http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z/versions-history.html

Under the 'SPD' tab, it'll tell you what RAM is in each slot (if any).

If you only have one stick of RAM in there, part of the problem is it's not running in Dual channel mode.

Dual channel effectively doubles the speed of your RAM, e.g: 1333MHz RAM actually only runs at 667MHz.

If for some reason you can't get another 4GB stick, see if they'll swap the single 4GB for two 2GB.

Free of charge ofcourse they are gonna swap in a new one

Sneaky guys, I wonder how many people they ripped off with that method.
The usual customer who gets his PC built at a shop, almost never looks at his system stats, nor opens up his case... >:(

I'd change shops if I were you. This is something that you just don't 'forget', when building a system for a customer.

Well they are legally required to do that and with the speed at which HW prices decay it's only logical that you'd get a better one. Nothing special there I'm afraid.

^ Yup, when my friend's PC died he got a ton of new parts (a new Phenom II proc and ATI 5750 instead of his old 3850) because the guys in the repair shop fried his old parts when they tried to replace the motherboard... Lucky bastard...

4 GB ram is sufficient for BF3 if you are not running al kinds of crap stuff in the background while playing.
Which video card do you use.
