jow lads,
i gona hijack his thread for my own question.
i want to update my computer to run games like ro2 and the new elder scrolls decent.
since i gona buy a new car and shit i dont want to spend much money on updating.

so im currently using:

intel core 2 duo e8200
gigabyte ga-p35-ds3 mainboard
some  4gb G.E.I.L  ram at 800 meeehhz (ddr2 i think?)
and a sapphire radeon HD5670 with 1gig ram.
a samsung ssd and a regular sata.

helpz please :)

ATI 6870HD has reasonable power for the money spent.

2 or 4 GB extra memory would be useful, but only if you have 64-bit OS and your mobo has the room. >8 GB is not yet really required for gaming (unless you have something like a MMORPG client, Photoshop, video editor, Internet browser, IRC client, etc. all running simultaneously while playing the very latest games).

now I have a question too, someone here played BF3 with HD6950? I'm wondering if the 1 Gb version will be good enough along with Phenom X6 3 Ghz and 8 Gigs of RAM (that's what I'm upgrading to, and I'd like to run latest games, ie BF3, smooth)
