In the internal forum here are the news:
Obey the call of duty and join the testing sessions!
Testing every Thursday and Sunday!
Родина-мать зовёт!
Join the mobile infantry!

And I beg the Devs and Beta testers to leak something. Please. If you do, I will grateful to the greatest extent!

Those announcement messages are probably 3-6 years old.

That's all for today. ;)

Blast from the past:

Never knew FH1 had the Nagant Revolver and the PPD-34, donated from FinnWars. And they are pretty high quality....

Naw, those models were donated by Finland At War mod for Source engine. FinnWars and FH never had any dealings between each other. And these were intended for FH2, not FH, however none of them are used by FH2. Seth made the SJR Suomi and hopefully we can get the early model Suomi in at some point too. In conclusion, FH never had PPD or Nagant revolver, nor does FH2.  :P

There's two versions of the Suomi SMG. The one you see in the picture you posted is the early version, or type 1. This was used throughout all three wars (Winter, Continuation- and Lapland War). The model we have in FH2 is the later production model with the extended muzzle brake, hence the model was named as Suomi SJR (SJR stands for suujarru, translating to muzzle brake). After february 1943 all Suomi's made for the Finnish Army had the muzzle brake.

This means if we wanted to have Finnish maps that take place in the early Continuation War or during the Winter War, we'd need the first production model. At the same time that model could still be used in late war maps since that model was never replaced by the SJR.

IIRC one problem with these is that the high quality versions have faces missing (which is something done in Source Engine apparently).

Hey, always learning someting new. Never heard of that PPD-34 before. That thing looks like a FrankenSMG. Shares something with a MP-18, a Beretta 38 and a Reising. Super cool. About the reliability, can't say too much. Time to do a little research.

And thanks Flippy for the insight on the Suomi. Very much appreciated.

Now, FHMax, if you allow me, you are the official gravedigger in the community. I mean, you are really digging old and obscure stuff in this tread. Hope you don't mind the comment.

Best regards,

batistadk

Yes, some polygons are missing, indeed

At least that is the case with the Nagant revolver.

It is interesting how similar the Bretta M38 and the PPD-34 look alike. But I am sure nothing is planned...
