We actually played on this the first time today. French tanks are wayy overpowered.

Could maybe one Sig33 arty or one Ju87 plus few  Pak40 take care of this as French tanks are slower? Map is smaler but like Ihantala it could handle one airplane

Sure about Pak 40?
Heavier French tanks like Char B1 Bis were mainly destroyed by improvised use of heavy artillery (88 and 105mm), but direct combat losses to tank and AT-gun fire were suprisingly low. Overall, over the half French tank losses were due to mechanical failures. Only 35 were destroyed by German aircrafts (vs. 45 mine casualties) - but even bigger number was destroyed by friendly fire.

I don't recall having seen PaK 40 mentioned at all when reading about the 1940 campaign in the West. I'm under the impression that back then the only AT Guns used were the Pak 36, and, in an improvised role, 88mm AA guns and howitzers of various calibers.

Wasn't Pak 40 a 1942 thing?

Indeedie.

1.Kompanie/Panzer-Jäger-Abteilung 8 was equipped with six 8.8 cm Flak 18 Selbstfahrlafette, and schwere Panzer-Jäger-Abteilung 525, 560 and 650 had a total of 33 up-armored and modified 8.8 cm gepanzerte Flak towed by armored 8t Zugkraftwagen, in the support of the 1. and 2.Panzer-Division between May-June 1940. After the campaign in France, all 525, 560 and 650 Kompanien were converted back to towed AT-units with 3.7 cm Pak.

Also, mobile Luftwaffe Flak units also claimed at least 9 French tanks between 9 -26 May 1940.

No PaK 38's in service in 1940 either (not until Op. Barbarossa), even the Panzer III had the 37mm gun (I wonder if the devs can make an Ausf. F from the Ausf. J).
Btw, Panzer 38(t) spotted in the changelog (some french stuff too), thanks for your work devs!

Woa , no pak 38? Will be nice to see more Pak36 in use in game.

About map; I still hope that map will use lot of Panzer II and Germans struggle against French tanks. I love PnzII ,this is ideal front for it in huge numbers. While Panzer 4 is in every FH2 map.

And two questions if I may:
-any map with Sig33 in work?
-is there any progres on prohorovka (didnt wanted to touch its own thread as people would think its update)

No. That tank requires a completely new model. Pretty much everything was changed in later variants.

Actual grayscaled screenshot from the playtest showing how many hits it takes to take down the B1 bis.
You are bathing in misery and hope, waiting for someone to come and pull the plug.

I think you’re thinking of the D. That variant had a totally different suspension than the E variant on. There’s still a lot of work, but I think it would still be possible to make an Ausf E or F from an Ausf J model.

Didn't the Ausf. F had different turrent with two coax MG34s? The hull was indeed different in Ausf D, not F, my bad.

I think the Ausf E had 2 MGs in the turret. The F went down to 1. It would still be a ton of work, but I think it would still be a bit easier than going from scratch. I think the biggest thing is the mantlet and gun and then also tweaking the hull hatches to have dual hinges instead of one

EDIT: tbh, I’m down with anyone taking our Ausf J model and pointing out the changes that would need to be made to make it an Ausf E or an F as I don’t have the common knowledge to do it quickly.
