So I know that Belgium, December - january 1944/45 is not known for its airsupport, or air combat, but this was one of the epic battles, and I tihnk we are at a good point to see it happen.

Bulge, right? January, 1st, 1945, P51s, P47s against BF109s and ME190s... The death of the Luftwaffe

It requires a bit of research on the area because it might actually be possible to get it right


Other suggestions:
+ 4km map for more epicness and more maneouvering
+ More Jerry planes than Allied planes
+ Jerry needs to destroy all allied planes, and vice versa (i.e frags)
+ Allied AA guns, Ack-ack and 88s at the German side to prevent spawn raping... Or just make no flight-zone over axis area.. Actually that ought to be the way to go


Main features are basic relief, nothing for gameplay obviously. Hills, trees - forest and scattered, runway, that's it


An actual air battle that encapsulates the idea of the Ardenne offensive.

Also needs the "Blue-nosed bastards from Bodney" skin, a BF-109 Gustav and those huge pyramid shaped piles of something.

Ah yes, the mighty ME190!  ;)


Nah, but seriously, sounds great. I suck at flying with my keyboard/mouse set up, but in a planes-only level I can maybe stay alive a little longer.

But no objectives besides purely shooting each other out of the sky? I know the Luftwaffe wasn't really bombing stuff anymore at the end of the war, but - I dunno - maybe make a strafe-able control tower on each side's airfield or something, which eventually will explode after numerous strafing runs. That's what I liked about the old BoB/Coral Sea maps, that you also had to protect/attack certain assets. So even when you're not a dogfighter, you can still make yoruself useful.

And maybe add a big mountain in there (or a couple of other big obstacles), for some low level acrobatics.

Also the plane vs plane balance is still hugely centerd towards the FW190


Also the British doesnt have there Correct spitfire models ingame, or the hawker tempest and such.

And frankly, my bigger concern is with seeing if the devs can't play around with BGF tank motion a bit to see if we can't get more realistic plane combat... being able to turn off your engine, stalls... STALLS, and clear advantages and handicaps for each plane type....

Currently, I'm hearing that's a tad debatable

But honestly, it was a simple shoot-em-up. Each side fighting for air-superiority. You can strafe planes on the ground if you don't want them taking off, but objectives will be bordering on historical deviation... And what skins are we talking about? Currently we already have white/ chrome P51s and P47s

maybe the Germans might need theirs... but that's it

And I don't think the Brits were at Y-29, Tao :-P

I would have said the entire Operation Bodenplatte, but then again, I loathe Operation-sized maps. Like saying, the 'Battle of the Bulge map'

I'd rather get a map we can scale down a la El Alamein, so Y-29 it is... And we already have all the vehicles involved, just need to reskin 2, i think.

Ahhh Op. Bodenplatte. I wanted to do this map but some other things got in the way.

Basically, the it was the last major Luftwaffe operation of the war. The Luftwaffe used Fw190/Bf109-G fighter-bombers to attack Allied airfields in an attempt to cripple their air dominance. There was no counter-offensive air operations by the allies, only defensive ones.

In theory, the map would work like FH1 BoB. Two allied airfields, one being Y-29, so that players could choose where to take-off from, if one base was under attack. Then you'd have a bunch of P-51/P-47s at both bases with some AA, going up against 109/190s with maybe a couple German scout planes. The objective of the Germans was to destroy the Allied planes, so it'd be cool if we had some bigger, static planes, like B-17s and C-47s rather than just small fighters.

*sighs* Maybe in the future, once I've finished what I'm working on now, I'll work on this. FH2 needs a good air map.

Instead of a flock of bofors defending the airfield, i say that theres Heavy AA guns, as these where defending Y-29

So instead of lets say 4 bofors
2 bofors and 2 90mm AA gun

the 90mm AA was used alot in the anti-tank role in Battle of the bulge, so the model can be used there aswel

But thats only when you guys find more chinese people to make it  ;)
