Problem is that they got a new leader now .. So it wont make any difference if Kimy passes out ..

Anyways, i think that a state like this isnt tolerable in 2010. Im not pro-war by all means, but those people seriously need liberation and integration into the modern world.

IIRC, their new tank has been found to be rather obsolete, no better than a T-72.

On their arty, it is massive, however its main problem is that it is very poorly placed for defence from the air/enemy artillery, and they simply do not have the computer systems that we have to make highly accurate strikes.

We would be able to stop them, and we would be able to push them back and even liberate them.  The problem is how many casulties we're willing to take doing it, and how many civilians we're willing to tolerate dying.  An invasion of North Korea would stand a good chance of most of the population fighting to the death.

Well, history tells us that forcing "your" views of whats right onto other people is never acceptable.
Think about the christian church forcing their view onto the unbelieving in the middle east.
Or think about the Iran, from Ahmadinedschads point of view it´s unacceptable that the state Israel still exists in 2010.
Or any terroristic group, they all think they have the right to force their point of view.

Who can choose which point of view has the right bring violence and suffering to others ?

Well, I think North Korean Peoples Republic is so poor, it will most likely solve this issue by starving all it´s people when they really isolate them self even more or put more money into the military.

I'm taking my own freedom
puttin' it in my song
singing loud and strong
proving all day long
I'm takin' my freedom
puttin' it in my stroll
I'll be hop-steppin' y'all

If the situation leads to war and 'we' push an offensive back into North Korea, don't underestimate the possibility of desertion by the KPA. Or at least the civilian population not willing to put up a fight.

Of course it could go completely the other way, but I think a good percentage of the population aren't exactly comfortable with the current leadership. In particular the conscripted portion of the army. Take into account the untold numbers of North Korean citizens and enlisted men trying to flee the country via China and even the North-South border every year.

However I don't think it will lead to war in any situation. Jong-Il will probably pass away and the next one to take his place (whichever son it may be) will probably be more than willing to open talks with the West.

Having said that, I really can't see the situation getting much better for North Korea in any regard.

Dude, you really missed the inauguration of Kim Jong Un, Il's youngest son ? He was chose because he was the most dedicated to his fathers ways of leading the country. I could even bet he will be worse than his dad ..

Hes the new leader now, with Il being only representative infront of the people now. Un got like control over most of the military and country over night.
