2.3.... brought to me a very very pleasant surprise. The flamethrowing weapons recieved a tweak!

As some of you may have experienced, the flamethrower fires very diffrent now. It fires in a burst with 3 flame burts. The flame goes more straight, they not always burn iirc... the projectiles sometimes bounce of a wall..aka many changes.

Honestly i have to say=Congrats. The flamethrower finnaly plays like a real Close quarter weapon. Yesterday on Brest, we where pinned down (as usual) near the fountain. I grabbed that flamethrower. And burned myself (with entire squads behind me) all the way to the next flags. In the right hands, a devestating weapon

In the wrong hands...well. The WASP is newest flamethrowing addition to the FH2 Arsenal. It is LE AWESOME to describe it shortly. Me and mustii, rained fire and death yesterday on Totalize. I havent had so much fun in a long time. BUT a huge but, when the WASP was showed in a render, the devs stated that killing a WASP will result in a gaint explosion...
They are correct, i krispy baked 5 germans, a Tiger launched a HE shell into my ass, i exploded in a gaint fireball.........teamkilling 4 canucks next to me.

Also the Flamethrower is still the n1 weapon for teamkilling. So pay attention what you do.



In a nuttshell, a SPLENDID job FH2 devs for making the flamethrower a true flamethrower.
As for the future= Churchill crocodile,Flamethrower, Portable, No 2, Flammenwerfer 35/41, Flammpanzer III ,Sdkfz 251/16 - Flammpanzerwagen and M4A3R3 "Zippo" PLX!!!

I'd like to know if there's some sort a delay between firing and the actual projectile leaving. The flamethrower feels like the bazooka in one of the oldest version where it took a while before the rocket left the barrel.

I don't like the burst firing. It's harder to save the fuel for later use. The flames look prettier than before though.

Sadly I havent used the flamethrower yet, but I have used the WASP and blown one up.

Awesome.

But the only problem i can see is:

*Boom* WASP is blown up. Driver recieves multiple TKs and is kicked automatically by the server. I wish there was a way around this...

YeA i fought with you with irish beatrix nd ultimate (sry dude cant remember) in brest. Worst round for me since release ( ;)) was awsome to see it all happen.

Also on totalize Bart was driving and i was sprying, result was a huge BBQ at the hill with nebel. Only killed one dude but hell, was fun to do and to watch  ;D.

The previous flamethrower was lagging for me. There was a delay between pushing the button and the release of the burst. Once you stopped shooting, it still released the burst, and if you were moving and facing a wall after stopping to push the trigger, you barbequed yourself.

But this new flamerthrower... it releases only small bursts of which only some develope into actual flames on the ground. I consider aiming much harder with the new flamerthrower as these bursts are so tiny. When you try to cover a certain area, only about half of it is actually covered. Thus you have to hope your enemy will run into the flames sometimes.

Finally it got a filling level indicator, but it feels like the overall filling capacity has been reduced. This might be due to the tiny bursts being released which cause me to actually spray more gasoline at the enemy than before.

After all, the previous flamethrower and me were big friends. I even had a feeling for the actual filling level and moved to ammo boxes once it was about to be empty.

Thus, I guess, I had a serious advantage using the flamethrower compared with other players. Accordingly I have yet to make friends with the new on.

I usually imagine my own sounds with it, like `tjunk, tupdieyupdiedee` aaa enemy spotted, ratatatataboom

With the burst, the Flamethrower is much better to be used against personall directly. And less spammy yet still  very effective

also the slight bounching off walls is AWESOME.

I hope we see more flamethrowing equipment soon
