Honestly, I don't think it should be closed or such.  Its good to have a single spam thread, as long as it is all CONTAINED withen this thread, and this thread ALONE.

My thoughts exactly.  Going on the experience of the original off topic, I'd say a single spam thread would be needed to stop a general spam overflow explosion.
