So i was driving around on Totalize with my trusty Churchill.....
I was crossing the river, untill i hear a "plunge" behind me. I thought it was a panzerfaust who missed..
It was a Faustkubel, the second lamest thing on FH2...
But i zagged a bit to the left, and well.....Well...
Thank god i am in my right. FRAKKING SCRATCHES ALL OVER MY CHURCHILL.I HOPE YOU HAVE GOOD INSURANCE
So you guys are saying that it is possible to do mobile arty if the equation is altered to account for slopes and altitude???Extending the calculation is not needed for mobile arty I think. It´s just if you fire your arty or mortar from a slope you wont hit the center of the spot by aiming at 0,0 on the dials. By extending the calculation it should be possible to correct this. This would also help for mobile arty of course.
Many thanks gunnie. A few things:
If you can get the spotter projectile to output Z coordinates as well, I could provide a suitably modified equation for it that compensates for height.
Can you get roll, yaw, and pitch data for the arty? Alternatively, can you output the direction of firing in vector (ijk) format? If so, I may be able to solve the problem with calculating mobile artillery on a slant.
Locking the distance to the artey seems kinda...awkward, to tell you the truth. Wouldn't updating the distance every .5 seconds cause next to no latency and yet allow near real time firing? Could you put the differences between X, Y, and Z coordinates into a cartesian distance formula? Seems relatively simple to me, but meh.I seems as this should already be the case. A timer checks if your spot needs to update. There it always updates if the gun is not "static". Anything in the code might be not working like expected though.
I'd like to know more about that line by Josey.this was today on hslan.
Yo
I have 2.2 installed, now when i apply 2.25, it reaches the 1/121 part but it crashes.
The debug files says...Quote02:55:02: target = C:\Archivos de programa\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\fh2\objects_statics_server.zip
02:55:02: patchlen = 2346647
02:55:02: -> hashfile: C:\Archivos de programa\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\fh2\objects_statics_server.zip
02:55:02: Error: Failing with 'Failed' because: hash_file: fopen failed
02:55:02: Error: Patch suitability verification failed: Failed
And im not sure what to do
I use Cygwin on Terminator, to ssh to a remote shell running irssi on screen.Nice, this made my day ! A command line client to use with screen is just perfect.
