We finally get Dorchester in Western Front? YAY!  :D

Western Front AEC Dorchester could be conspiracy enough. ;) iirc someone had said the mappers were mainly moving away from putting commander assests on maps because they were useless.

The fact that they decided to put one on a new map (and take the time to give it a new olive drab texture I'm assuming) could mean they've devised a plan for commander.

Or it means nothing :P but this is a conspiracy thread so screw that! 8)

I really like the way the Atlantic wall is set up around that back flag. It seems like it's one of the only ways tanks can access that flag to support infantry. So you have the choice of destroying it and moving in or you can take that flag on its left flank and move in from behind down the road. (making random assumptions about gameplay from the minimap)

VERY nice work Schism 8) Another quality FH2 map. I love the look of the beach, the swamps and transitions into the bocage beyond. It feels very real. I also like the crashed gliders.
I'm guessing this takes place like the old FH1 Gold Beach when the beachhead was semi established and the Brits have to establish positions inland?

Great Job devs, glad to see we're back on track :)

Gold Beach it is

I think there's still a few people who get together and play on pixel fighter now and again. That's last I heard. Some people who still play the original lurk around these forums now and again, hopefully they can give a better answer.

News updates would suggest that this version of the Stuart was made more 'recently' as a vehicle strictly for Sidi Bou Zid, and then Pointblank decided to make a Pacific skin for it for some reason. Another theory could be that Pointblank made this version of the Stuart for a Pacific front that was scrapped long ago, and he reskinned it when someone created a map it could be used on (a la Sidi Bou Zid). Another theory would be that the truth is something completely different ;)

Less drastic conspiracies: there have been Shermans and other vehicles with 1st Polish Armored Division markings in the files for some time. Mt. Ormel map still being worked on?

Realistically, you can't really feel if a mag is "heavy" or "light" without basically removing the mag to hold.  At which point you're dead because you just unloaded your gun in combat for no reason other than to check if you have ammo.  Which you now don't.

That's how it is in RO2, you press a button and an animation plays of him pulling the bolt back slightly or pulling the mag out. Then you get a vague message of how much ammo is left. IMO it works well because it takes a bit of time to do and you obviously can't use your gun while doing it. So you have to be out of combat and in a lull during the fighting before you can do it, otherwise you get yourself killed.

Right now in RO2 it might be a bit fast and maybe even too specific (it tells you if it's empty/light/heavy/full). But I still think its a good way of finding out if you have rounds left to fight with before moving on in a firefight.

This is all assuming its even possible to do this in cryengine. :P

Your new one is the same area right? You'd just be using FH2 statics instead of PR:WW2 ones?

Well I don't recall seeing anything about this in the thread so far, but it's obviously been in the files since 2.45 came out. This thread has been a bit quiet for a while so let's go nutjob (like 'moon landing' conspiracy) here 8)

A few weeks ago I noticed a USMC texture for the M3A1 Stuart in the files. ;) which (to my knowledge) can only be used on one front. So is it the wishful thinking of one dev making a texture JUST IN CASE development gets that far? Or is there a larger conspiracy a foot! :o

Conspire....

Actually, the way we're doing is, is the HUD will be tabbed in and out of existence with a key stroke.  So you can close it and bring it up at any time.  Then there will also be a larger map that can be brought up, something akin to unfolding a map from your pocket, with better information.

That's what I really like about this, the idea of being able to assess the situation (bring up hud) and if you really wanna get an idea of whats going on you have to stop (drop your gun) and take a look at the map.

Any word of whether or not you can check if you have rounds left in your mag? Like in RO2 you open the bolt and then it gives you a message saying 'magazine feels empty/light/heavy'

Pure, unadulterated, sex :o this has seriously upped my anticipation for this game (if it was at a 10/10 before it's now up to 11, to quote Spinal Tap)

I have a ton of high hopes for this game and I hope it meets my expectations when it comes out ;)

I've yet to hear anything about the game being able to be modded. Not that my PC can run the game, but if it could I probably wouldn't get it.

No ik it can't and it never will. Just wishful thinking.

This is the most comprehensive overview I've seen about some cool things I didn't know total about in the beta. Zeroing lock on missiles etc...

Can't tell if I enjoy stuff like this or it just makes me sad cause all I can think about is how awesome this would be if you could MOD it!

Still interesting

Cant believe I just now notice how the MEC guy looks like the soup nazi.

HA! ;D Can't un-see that now thanks

On topic this is.. WOW. I'm impressed with the models and the work they've put in. I'm surprised they've gotten as far as they have as I didn't think too many people were working on it. I'll def have to check this out when it comes out
