The Italian Army is represented and made.  The Hungarian is not.  Their uniforms, weapons, gear, etc, are all unique to the Hungarians.  The closest thing they have to anything FH2 has is their helmet, but even that would have to be modified as it was not exactly the same as the German helmets.  Plus you'd have to make Hungarian voices, which in of itself would be a challenge without any suitable voice actors.

There did, in fact, use to be work on a mini-mod by a few individuals for the Hungarian military, but that dried up and died.  I have no idea if the assets are even around anymore, and they never really moved far beyond tank models and a few weapons.  Point is, the FH2 dev team is small and only has a few active devs at any one point.  We cannot really create a brand new entire faction out of thin air- the dev team needs to work with the assets it has on hand.

I know that the hungarian army would have to be made by someone. I know that especially voices are impossible to make without fitting voice actors. And I know that the developpers don´t have much time.

I did not ask for the whole hungarian army because I knew the developpers dont have time to spare.
I just asked for 1 or 2 tanks, and if the balancing would be a problem. Nothing more.

If I thought the devs had loads of time I could suggest completely different things like early war things, but the devs are making the late eastern front and working on maps for that, and THERE a toldi or turan or something like that could fit.

And if I suggested to add the whole hungarian army, it would not be a minor suggestion;)

Well, on the africa maps for example there are italian tanks or planes even if the italian army itself is not represented.

I don´t really know, but I think the hungarian army didn´t have equipment that would make them unique in fh2, or at least not enough to make a whole faction of.
If they had I would like to be proven otherwise

I wonder if the devs could add the Turan or Toldi tanks, they have been used on late eastern front.
even though they would be helpless against t34s, I would like to have them as a little gadget.

So would it be added even if it has such a big disadvantage? Or is the balancing too important for that?

yes its a polizeiunit in yougoslavia in anti partisan operation.
They all use italian weapons and vehicules mixed with some german stuff (mg15, kubel)



I have been quite interested in the battles against the partisans in yugoslavia, especially Unternehmen Rösselsprung would be interesting. Sometimes I think about how awesome maps for it would be, but there is no hope for it because the playermodels and buildings and such would need to be made.
(oh and the voices of course)

although I can´t complain, finland being in the mod is already epic ;D

Even if I only come to play FH2 once every week or so, and even if I´m not really good in it -
I can say I am really lucky to know such a great mod, one of the best games ever.

So, happy birthday, Forgotten Hope and big thanks to the developpers and the community who still improve and play this beautiful game! ;D

If I unpack the maps in the levels folder and load them into the editor, all terrain and static objects are there, but there don´t seem to be any vehicles visible ??? How to change that?

And if there are different versions for multiplayer and singleplayer for the maps, how can I edit both? for example the SP and MP versions of Mount Olympus.

Create a new folder inside the folder of the map you want to edit called "editor". Then go into the "gamemodes" folder and pick the map mode you want to edit. For 64 player conquest, go into the  "gpm_cq" folder, then "64" folder and copy the "gameplayobjects.con" into your newly created "editor" folder.

I have a problem. When opening a map I know crashes to find out what is causing the crash I get spammed with "more than one controlpoint with controlpoint id 276". I HIGHLY suspect this has something to do with the crashing ingame, but none of the controlpoint id's are the same, nor numbered 276. Any ideas what that could be?

Ok, I made the init.con and tmp.con similar to that of Sfakia. Then I used the map-pack python file.
I opened it in the editor again, but in level assets some fields are still empty, could somebody help me again?


Update: deleted this map and downloaded the "my level" from the tutorial. I did all the steps of tutorial 2.
then I copied the Kits part (without the pickup kits) as well as language and such from el Alamein over to my level in the init.con. I made a blank tmp.con and ran the pack-map.py, now everything is fine in tmp and init.con.

I look into the editor, load the map and in the level assets the language and soldier skins still dont show up... I really dont know why?

Hello Guys,

I am making a very simple map as described in the fh2 mapping tutorial, I downloaded everything from the mapping files thread (http://fhpubforum.warumdarum.de/index.php?topic=1804.0) and followed every step precisely, but when it comes to the level assets, the language and the kits don´t show up, it´s just blank...

In the init.con the kits and language stand written, so I don´t know where the problem is. could someone help me?

It's very accurate unlike the other AT rifles.

aren´t all AT-rifles almost as precise as a sniper rifle? in the singleplayer I shot many bots with them
