Off-Topic / Re: South Africa World-Cup 2010

Another world class display by our team (Dutch) today. ::)

I rather have them having to fight for their points and experiencing the difficulties, than the easy wins we had at the EC08. Teams need to grow on a WC, the Dutch team is off to a pretty good start by having a hard time, but still winning. I think there's much to learn from these two encounters; I personally think only one or two (Vd Vaart and the static play) things destroyed the whole game. But as I said, it's better to experience those problem now and be able to learn from them, than having an easy ride and then get kicked out of the quarterfinals because we thought we could defeat the whole world.

And FFS, do you never use 2=to , u=you ... ??

Why would one? It's not like those extra .02 seconds you waste by typing 'to(o)' instead of '2' is going to make your life any shorter. It only looks like 13 year old msn breezah while the people on this forum are teh seri0uz.

Yes buying FPS games for consoles is totally rational. Have you even tried BC2 on PC? It's nothing like a console port. Perhaps it lacks a few features that would be included if it was a PC game, but it's nothing you'd miss. Less content is bullocks, it has exactly the same as the console version. And what is your problem with marketing if you're not buying it anyway?

« on: 17-06-2010, 19:06:51 »
There already are commando kits (PeB selectable; Villers Bocage as pickup) ingame on the maps the devs want them on. Also there are numerous pickup kits on all maps that resemble specialized kits, like a Thompson kit with No69 grenades etc on Tobruk.

Considering that one of the wheels is flying between 'us' and the plane, the plane would be going away from us. It indeed seems to be spinning.

Most likely the right landing gear wheel got stuck in a cable, got ripped off but also sent the plane spinning around it's axle to the right. That would be why its now flying facing the wrong way.

All the prejudice, who says a good mix between MW2 and BC2 can't be good?

Tactics & Tutorials / Re: How to bomb target accurately?
« on: 15-06-2010, 13:06:25 »
The best tactic for the Stuka is to copy real life.  Climb as high as possible and wait for a spot on the map of a tank or other target.  You then dive, vertically, down on it and aim using the crosshair.  Release your bomb asap and pull up to avoid the inevitable AA/fighters.

250 kg bomb is best for heavier tanks, the 4 50kg bombs are more spread out and are idea for infantry or multiple lighter tanks.

Depending on the map (view distance), you can spot enemy tanks yourself by flying at a 90 degree angle [so that one of your wings is facing the ground] and using CTRL to look down. It takes some practice to do this while keeping your plane level (it'll naturally want to go down; give a slight bumb in the opposite direction before pressing ctrl) but it's pretty usefull on maps like El Alamein. And you're already in a good ''backflip diving'' position flying like this aswell, so you won't have to pull any stunts to do the real-life Stuka bombing approach as described before.

Well I guess I stand corrected then. Any other reason why they weren't allowed to rape then? As far as I've been taught the Nazis werent exactly morale [as in being concerned for human life / suffering] caring so I take it that wouldn't have been the case aswell.

Well atleast everyone got that thing right. Italians and soldiers were like Hitler and ponies.

Indeed, what's the point? The allies won, the axis lost, Hitler was the baddest person in history, Japan was nuked and it started the cold war. What else should you need to know about if your interests don't regard history? I bet you think all Roman soldiers wore that cool armor (lorica segmentata) like they did in Gladiator. Or that all knights in the Dark Ages wore ultra heavy armored suits?
Does it matter if you're not intrested? No.

It would be really cool, those 3p annimations would really add a lot to WWII feeling I think. Hopefully you'll find a way to avoid the crappy BF2 engine. :D

Yes I know but what are the odds that I saw a picture of that T28 tank, then went looking for some other vehicle, came across the PZ4 page, saw a nice PZ4 picture, enlarged it to get a better view and spotted the same T28 as posted above? :D

Offcourse the Germans weren't alowed to rape, it wouldn't fit into the nazi doctrine. They wouldn't want their Arian soldiers to mix their blood with ''second degree'' people.

Suggestions / Re: Trip Flares (Ohhh Muddy...)
« on: 11-06-2010, 16:06:28 »
Trip flares would be perfect for a "strategic layer" for FH2, i.e. a period of time before the round started where squad leaders and the commander could set a fixed number defensive positions and weapons (sandbags, MGs, trip flares, AT guns).  But the game engine can't handle that, I'm sure.

It can, Project Reality has placable objects like firebases and MG nests. The only thing impossible is digging into the ground.
