Gaming / $400-$500 super low budget PC
« on: 07-05-2013, 18:05:05 »
Hey guys, I am looking to build a PC on a very low budget for FH2, PR, ArmA II and the upcoming Rome II. I want to be able to play FH2 and PR on high settings and ArmA II smoothly on low. Rome 2 is supposed to have the same requirements as Shogun 2, so that should be able to give you some ideas. I already have a pretty decent video card that meets the the requirements for all games listed, an AMD that fits into a PCI Express slot, so I won't be needing a new video card yet. This is just going to be something to build off of, the processor is the number one priority.

Suggestions / Removal of Tank Siren
« on: 14-07-2012, 00:07:05 »
I'm loving the patch, but I've found one thing that is both annoying and highly unrealistic. When a tank gets to critical status a very loud and annoying alarm goes off. In all my research I've never found any evidence pointing to tanks ever having alarm sirens and having to drive the thing back to base listening to that thing was very irritating. I love the other damage effects , but surely there must be another more realistic and annoying way of warning the player that his or her tank is in critical condition? How about more smoke or making the view of the player look like he his bleeding. If an alarm is required how about making it the sound of a tank crewman yelling to bail out or that the tank has been hit?

Suggestions / Reducing the number of vehicles on maps.
« on: 20-11-2011, 17:11:27 »
One problem that I've always had with FH2 is the vehicle for every man policy that seems to be employed on every map that is representing a battle that large number of tanks were present in. I can understand that this gives every player the option to take a vehicle if they want without having to wait for other players. But, one thing I noticed back when the 128 player server was up was that players actually shared vehicles, squads stuck together, trucks were full, men were riding on tanks etc. just as they would have in real life. By keeping soldiers together like that teamplay in encouraged without being forced upon people in PR style, but instead with the fact that each vehicle matters. In real life transport vehicles were always in short supply and would never be wasted like they are in FH2 (actually they wouldn't usually be used as close to the front line as they are in FH2, but that's another story.) . It would also allow people to see the beautifully detailed rear interiors of trucks and APC's more often :P.

Another thing that I think should be done is the reduction of tanks even on maps representing armor heavy battles. For example during Operation Cobra there were about 60 infantry men for each tank involved in combat. I'm not saying that there should be one tank on each side, but I am saying that tanks are far too common in FH2 and infantry are not common enough on those maps.

Now that a larger state has approved it, maybe more of the country will follow.

Gaming / Iron Front: Liberation 1944
« on: 23-06-2011, 23:06:11 »
This game is gonna be great. Essentially it's an FPS built on the ArmA II engines based on the East Front during WWII:

After having a discussion with Kev the other night, I decided to see what everyone else thought about the matter. I know alot of people have talked about this, so I've decided to make a thread. Please do not start and argument in this thread, because it is not a suggestion merely a poll. If you choose to reply merely state your choice and why you chose it. If you disagree with someone's opinion please don't argue, if you must argue, please do it via PMing. If somebody else has already set up an identical poll, please remove this one. If you do not believe that the choices are open enough or that new ones should be added, please respond with a suggestion to change them.

Off-Topic / The link only thread thread
« on: 18-03-2011, 17:03:10 »
Hello everyone, I have decided to put this up as a public service to all of the admins. Everyone who loves posting threads/messages with no description rejoice! Post all of those videos here you slackers.

Rule #1: No text is or description is allowed
Rule #2: Obey the rules of the forum when posting videos (i.e. no nazi propaganda, pornography etc.)
Rule #3: Links only, don't embed your video here!

I figured this would give the people a place to put their random vids, and a thread for the admins to move all of the useless posts to!

Off-Topic / A public apology
« on: 16-01-2011, 17:01:04 »

I am sorry for the damage I may have done to the community and I hope it recovers. I guess I should stay out of the lounge. Sorry to those who were offended by my last post. From now on I will avoid posting in the lounge and keep it for the general discussion forum. Everybody has a right to their own opinions and I forgot that I suppose. I haven't been doing that great lately financially and in school, so I guess I let my rage carry on to the forums. I am very embarrassed to have to post this and I'm sure it makes me look bad. I just hope the community isn't adversely effected.

Off-Topic / Save a bunker!
« on: 01-01-2011, 16:01:37 »

I pulled this off another site, but I thought that this would be a good place to put it.

Anyway, according to one of my friends on Face Book, a WWII bunker is to be destroyed to make way for a modern apartment building. Now, I know everything in the world cannot be saved, and it may do no good to sign the petition at all. However, it can't hurt.

Please sign it guys,

Is anybody else getting sick of these buttholes?
Is this something that we just have to live with? Obviously nobody will do anything to hurt the Somalian's feelings. Now the gas companies will probably use this as an excuse to raise prices  ::).

Tactics & Tutorials / Shooting small arms accurately etc..
« on: 28-10-2009, 19:10:02 »
Hello, I'm looking for some help on how to unn00b myself. I've been playing FH2 for 6 months now almost daily and I don't seem to get any better. I often end a battle with a 1/3 kill/death ratio and I'm getting tired of it. One problem I have is that I almost ALWAYS miss the first shot especially at long ranges. I'm now starting to wonder if I'm shooting from Iron Sights correctly. With a SMG I often use my entire clip without hitting anything even at point blank ranges. Also, I get killed by dolphin divers incredibly often, how should I counter this stupid tactic.
