Sparked by an remark from Archi in the BF4 topic

"Do you have something to hide?"

Why don't we break into your house and check what you've got. I bet you won't be disturbed.

What are the feeling around Prism
Glad that the NSA gathering intel that prevent possible attacks?
Or scared that sooner or later that keeping the information stored for longer periods of time will lead to corruption of those who wield the information sword?

And why the fuck doesn't Google autocomplete when searching for PRISM SNO... to PRISM SNOWDEN come on Google like million people didn't search that?

Time to put on the tin foil hat and break out the conspiracies.
For the folks from the US don't worry only "foreigners"  are targeted so you can type whatever you want here.

I wonder if these so called terrorist aren't getting what they want. How long before reprisals are taken on Muslims that have and want nothing to do with this.

Sick fucking bastards, though. I will spare you the video, not going to promote that shit.

I am such a nerd for posting this, but after a year I finally managed to get FH2 running on my laptop.

Let me set the background for this. My Laptop screen was smashed and replaced by another screen which had a refresh timing of 59,9 Hz. Windows 7 will default this to 59Hz in your screen resolution setting. I could not choose 60Hz in the Windows Screen resolution settings.

Normally no problem, but a few games, like BF2 are hard coded to only accept resolution like 60 hz, 75 Hz etc. You will get a nice black screen and return to desktop if you try to start it. I always played with an external monitor.

You can of course try to fiddle around with the files, but that won't work.

Why I did to fix it is to use a nifty tool called PowerStrip (

*  Go to Option - monitor information.
*  Then in the option dropdown you go to Write custom monitor driver
*  Choose the proper setting for getting windows to show 60 Hz in the display setting and save it.
*  In control panel, change the drivers for you monitor to the new driver you just created.
*  It will switch from Generic PnP Display (In my case) to name of your Model ID.
*  Restart PC
*  Go to screen resolution and change it to 60 Hz
*  Play BF2.

Useful tip for people with laptop and built-in screen with timings lower then 60hz.

Off-Topic / What to do during a six hour drive ...
« on: 18-10-2012, 23:10:51 »
Had my annual trip to Waldorff, Germany. Takes about six hours to drive. This is what I did during the trip.
- Stop at Venlo and go to the shops, because I forgot to bring a shirt along, for my suit.

- Wonders if every German has Nitro boost in the trunk of his car

- Takes back earlier observation, after meeting the one German, that passes me by with a speed difference of 3 kilometres per hour, causing me to have lengthy comfortable ride behind a truck

- See a smiley in the form of light bulbs at the back of truck, chuckles at that

- Confirm opinion that all Audi Q5 drivers are dirtbags

- Scream Burger King spotted!, just when stomach couldn't take it anymore

- Actually listen to all 412 songs on my MP3 player

- Learns where Germany get it's money from, no Highway lighting

Rinse and repeat in reverse order for the return trip

So what do you do during long driving trips?

Gaming / Sleeping Dogs
« on: 01-09-2012, 20:09:51 »
Sleeping Dogs anyone.
GTA kind of game, with free running aspects.
Set in Hong Kong, you, an undercover cop, must work yourself up in the triads, playing missions for triads and police.

A few impressions from me after 5 hours of playtime:

- Runs better then GTA IV on my laptop with everything High
- Free running through Hong Kong urban environment is like a Jackie Chang movie. Running through a kitchen, sliding over the kitchen counter and jumping through a window. It is in the game.
- The fight system has more depth to it then GTA IV
- The environment is richly detailed and a joy to play in.

Sleeping dogs is really a sleeper hit.

Off-Topic / Bon Voyage Neil

Neil Amstrong died today at the age of 82. May he travel beyond the moon and stars.

Since these topics are the new rage and don't want to miss out on any hypes, like I did with the IPad, I decided to make a pre-emptive strike.

So who has the most kids? I have two with the third instalment coming soon, not FH2 soonish I hope, but real soon.

Gaming / A hiden gem, Dishonored
« on: 28-04-2012, 20:04:08 »
Was reading a preview for this game today. Wasn't on my radar until now. It is a mix of Thief, Deus Ex with a pinch of Half Life. It is set in a London like city in the year 1900 with a sight twist on history.

Check out the excellent trailer.

And a preview:

Gather around conspiracy theorists and put on your tinfoil hats.
We got the following pieces in play:

- Report from the International Atomic Energy Agency that Iran has a program for building a nuclear warhead
- Twitchy Israeli President threatening to drop bombs on Nuclear instalments in Iran
- Western Stereotype of a radical Arabic leader, Ahmadinejad, spouting rhetoric about Israel and the western world
- A recently released game, which just happens to take part in Iran

Now tell me how will this story continue ...
