Help / Support / Loosing internet connection

Hello guys, I've started to play 2.4 this friday, played yesterday without any problems, but today I've got a wierd bug. When I open up FH2, and selected a server, the game loads, and then when you click "Start game" I always loose my internet connection, so I get out of FH2, the internet icon says "deconnected" then once Fh2 is clearly closed, the internet connection return to "connected" OR when I play the game online, I start getting huge lags and finish to loose my internet connection. What the hell is that ?!?

Hello there, I've found some texture pack on the web I and wanted to install it because I like it, but I'm not able to install it. (http://battlefield2.filefront.com/files/Battlefield_2/Modifications/Forgotten_Hope_2;10205)
The original textures are packed in a .zip file, so when I want to put the new .dds in the objects_statics_client.zip an error message pop up saying that I can't put the new .dds
Does anyone know how to install correctly the textures because I don't want to have some problems with the game crashing etc.

Commanders can call a huge artilery strike that always causes big damages, but the shells falls from the sky and they are shot by a mysterious gun. So here is my suggestion : why not put some battery guns at the main base ? It will still be the commander that controls it from his commander radio, but will see the gun shot, and this could be more interresting than shells falling from the sky. In fact, it will work exactly like in BF2 arty, but with the skin of WWII guns.

Suggestions / Less grenades

Well, as the name of my topic says, I found that grenades are simply abusively over used on certain maps and it simply broke the gameplay and fun. Sometimes on certain maps like PdH or PHL, almost 1/2 of all kills are done by grenades(wich make about a total of 200kills per map), wich simply sucks.

I don't have all the knowledge of Murda in WWII History(Murda and WWII are the same person :P) but I don't think that all infantry soldiers where having 3 grenades with them. My suggestion is to only put grenades in the infantry kit with SMG, not the rifle kit. In Ramelle it work like that and in my memories this map doesn't turn in a grenade festival.

Another thing is about the range of german grenades. I simply found that this grenade can by thrown way too far. IRL, this grenade can be thrown at a range of about 30-40yards, but in game it more like 80yards. It arrives often that throwers are out of the range of SMG, wich it's simply ridiculous. Since grenades are defensive weapons, they should not be a weapon to kill people at about 100yards of the thrower. So simply reduce the range of grenades for all countries(even if mills bomb have IRL a range of about 30yards) and maybe their power since grenades in game have a quite large killing radius.

That's only my opinion, maybe I'm the only one to think that, but give yours, I want to see what people think of grenades.

Well, latter that day I wanted to play BF2 online cuz their was not enough players on FH2 and each time I was kicked out of the game because it's sais that I have a modified version of BF2. Is that normal if you have installed FH2 or it's something wierd ? The only thing I have on BF2 is FH2 and the latest version on punkbuster. Help would be appreciated.

General Discussion / Your favorite weapon in 2.3 ?

I already made a thread for 2.26, but in 2.3 the weapon had changed a bit, I decided to make a new thread about your appreciation of the weapons.

Garand : for me, it seems easier to shoot with than 2.26, but I still don't like it. I always try to get minimum a G43, 98k or any other bolt action.

BAR : I miss a lot the fact that it's not possible anymore to put it in single shot, before it was my favorite weapon, now I didn't really like it.

M1 Carbine : I started to use it more because of Garand and BAR that I don't like it anymore, easier to shoot that the Garand, but hard to get a fast kill due of it's poor caliber.

Bren : it seem's a little bit changed but I still like it a lot.

Lee Endfield: Bolt action FTW

98k : my alternative weapon on american map :P

that's it for the moment, I haven't really tried other weapons significaly to have an opinion on it. Now it's time for you to give your opinion.

Well, I know that a post already existed on 2.2, but I've decided to make a new one due to the new feature of 2.26patch. Show your statement why you like or dislike or want to see an improovement on a weapon.

I Love :
Lee Endfield : 1 shot 1kill, fast reloading and really good precision. My must
BAR : really huge precision when prone and easy one shot kill.
Bren : good precision when prone.
M30 Drilling : Big damage near, have a not so bad precision for a shotgun.
Winchester : it's a shotgun, so WAY TOO COOL

I hate :
Sten : just not abble to be good with that. I have some difficulties to kill a german with but die easilly by the MP40
MP40 : same thing with the sten, I'm an easy kill and not abble to kill someone with
Garand : Don't like the sight system, prefer to switch to a G43 or a Bolt Action.
Springfield Sniper : does not have a big precision.

Need more tests :
STG-44 : use it like twice, and don't know how to use it well
FG42 : Don't like the fact that the gun moves to the right when shooting due to the side clip, but good precision.
K98 : I don't like the sight on K98 in desert maps.

Hi everybody, I really don't know why because my FH2 was running verry well yesterday, but today the game crashed 4 times when I was playing on HsLan server. The game always crashed really fast in the game, 3 times it crashed when I died for the first time and the other when the game finished because i've joined the server at the very end of the game. If someone know the issue for this, it will be appreciated

The region of Metz have a lot of castle that germans used as a defensive fortress that americans got to took one by one.

Could be awsome if we can do a map that represent the siege of one of thoses castles.

Well, I was playing on Hslan server on Cobra, I was just killled near airport by a camping german MG42 then I was kicked from the server for 2 minutes for loosing paket. WTF ?!? what is loosing paket and why they expulsed me for that ? I was a fireteam Leader and I always play fair, so WTF ?

So when I click to start FH2, a messagebox open and said that he doesn't find the shaders. I just don't know what is that, my game was running really well and poof now it doesn't. If someone know what is that bug, thanks in advance
