Is there any way for me to see what I'm shooting at like when you're in normal artillery?

Since both mouse buttons are for firing, how can I see the target?

Suggestions / Making a guide to FH2 maps
« on: 19-04-2014, 21:04:50 »
Hi, and welcome to another "Let's suggest something for FH2" update!

This time we prepared a special little suggestion for you, and here's what it's about:

Prompted by the post in the "Feedback" thread, regarding players who don't know that Katzenhardt cannot be recaptured once lost to the Americans, I'd like to suggest making a rough "FH2 map guide" or some "Map reviews" which would describe the maps to the new and/or more casual players who didn't quite catch all the tips&tricks to winning some maps yet, as demonstrated by the general lack of experience/knowledge on Hurtgen.

I do realise that expecting a high level game on a public server is somewhat unreal, but it would make some goals clearer for the players. In almost every Ramelle game, a squad captures Right Flank and spawns a Tiger for the Germans, regardless of the caps locked chat spam "DO NOT CAP RIGHT FLANK", "GTFO FROM RIGHT FLANK FLAG", etc.

As an alternative, I suggest making those hints a bit more visible on the map description in the loading screen.

What does the jury say?

I've rediscovered the Star Wars recently and I've gotten the strangest urge to make my own Rebel Alliance/Empire logos out of wood.

Now the thing is, as much as it would be cool to have em around, I'm wondering what could I use them as, and my mind is frozen.

I could just pin them to a wall but I don't feel it's living up to their purpose, I want them to be practical.

So hence I posted this here, maybe someone will get an idea and contribute to the brainfrozen OP.

Off-Topic / German explosives in WWII
« on: 22-01-2012, 22:01:42 »

While browsing my favorite bookstore downtown yesterday, I came across the book named:

German Pionier 1939-45

Among other stuff, I found this really interesting picture of the explosives used in the period. So could anyone tell me if they are usable in this wonderful mod? ;D

I've just installed the software for the Konig Gaming Joystick and FH2 doesn't respond to it. How do I make it work? ;D

On this day, four score and thirteen summers ago, in Compiegne, Imperial Germany signed the unconditional surrender to the forces of Entente, officially ending the 4 year long Great War.

World War 1 cost us nearly 10 million killed, and at least 20 million wounded and missing.
Not to mention the Flu of 1918 which took another 20 million lives.

In hope that we have learned from the last 100 years of wars, let's remember them, the lost generation

"Did you really believe them when they told you "The Cause?"
Did you really believe that this war would end wars? "

General Discussion / Maps for newbs in FH2
« on: 08-11-2011, 18:11:04 »
Hello ladies and gentlemen,

A friend of mine is trying to get used to FH2, but he keeps getting killed. I know it's a normal "Noobingitis" but I'd like to get him improve his skillzors on some less skill demanding maps.

I was thinking of something like this:

Level 1 - Supercharge

Level 2 - El Alamein

Level 3 - Siege of Tobruk

Level 4 - Fall of Tobruk

Level 5 - Tunis

What do you think? Any word of advice on this?

Suggestions / The tent above the 25Pdr on El Al
« on: 19-07-2011, 20:07:09 »
Hello! Just Alt+Tab'd a round of El Al on our glorious Hslan, after I have blown myself up with a HE shell from a 25 Pounder in the British main base which I fired in the direction of the PAK emplacement on the Kidney Ridge if I'm not mistaken. The most west flag the germans hold at the start. Now my suggestion is either reposition the tent so the "legs" do not interfere with the obvious targets, or remove it completely. Aiming in shade has no effect on the player whatsoever.

Hello, FH community!
Here I am after a brief period of inactivity,
And I'm here to share with you an interesting find!

Just the other day at the bookstore, I saw a very nice book "Deutsche Soldaten", and in it, I found this peculiar pistol.

Now from what I've read, some 10 000ish of these were made in Spain and shipped to Germany until the summer of 1944, when, after the landings (Amerikansky to save the day woohoo), they stopped the transport until the end of the war.

So, should the devs implement it in some of the current maps or some of the upcoming ones?

Herr Mudra, if you will, your opinion on the matter? ;D

FH2 Help / Support / No screen display when I start FH2
« on: 25-05-2011, 17:05:59 »
Hello, don't know if there was a similar problem but here

In short, I have sound but no image when I start FH2. I hear the loading music, I press Esc, I hear the menu music. So the game is fine, except there's no video

recently I switched to a different graphic card because my old GT got toasted.

Off-Topic / Haag declares croatian generals guilty
« on: 15-04-2011, 18:04:47 »
Trial Chamber I of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) today convicted two Croatian Generals, Ante Gotovina and Mladen Markač, and acquitted one, Ivan Čermak, of charges of crimes against humanity and violations of the laws or customs of war committed by the Croatian forces during the Operation Storm military campaign between July and September 1995.

Gotovina, who held the rank of Colonel General in the Croatian army and was the Commander of the Split Military district during the indictment period, and Markač who held the position of Assistant Minister of Interior in charge of Special Police matters, were convicted of persecution, deportation, plunder, wanton destruction, two counts of murder, inhumane acts and cruel treatment. They were sentenced to 24 and 18 years’ imprisonment respectively. They were acquitted of charges of inhumane acts / forcible transfer. Čermak, who was the Commander of the Knin Garrison, was acquitted of all charges.

here, thought it deserved a mention.
The majority of the croatian population considers them not guilty.

The live fire tests were conducted in the fall of 1944 at Kubinka, during the course of which the following results were obtained:

«1. The quality of armor on the „Tiger-B‛ tank, in comparison with the armor on the „Tiger-I,‛ and „Panther,‛ tanks, as well as early production „Ferdinand‛ self-propelled gun, has sharply deteriorated. The first individual impacts caused cracks and spalling in the armor of the „Tiger-B‛ tank. Groups of shell impacts (3–4 shells) caused large-scale spalling and fractures in the armor.

2. Weak weld seams appeared characteristic of all hull and turret joints. Despite careful workmanship, the seams held up to shell impacts significantly worse than they did in analogous constructions on the „Tiger-I,‛ and „Panther,‛ tanks, as well as the „Ferdinand‛ self-propelled gun.

3. Impacts of 3–4 armor-piercing or high-explosive fragmentation shells from 152, 122, or 100 mm artillery pieces caused cracks, spalling and destruction of the weld seams in the tank's 100–190 mm thick frontal armor plates at ranges of 500–1000 metres. The impacts disrupted the operation of the transmission and took the tank out of service as an irrevocable loss.

4. Armor-piercing projectiles from the BS-3 (100 mm) and A-19 (122 mm) gun completely penetrated when impacting the edges or joints of the „Tiger-B‛ tank's front hull plates at ranges of 500–600 metres.

5. Armor-piercing projectiles from the BS-3 (100 mm) and A-19 (122 mm) gun completely penetrated the „Tiger-B‛ tank's front turret plate at ranges of 1000–1500 metres.

6. 85 mm armor-piercing projectiles from the D-5 and S-53 gun failed to penetrate the tank's front hull plates or cause any structural damage at distances of 300 metres.

7. The tank's side armor plates were notable for their sharply unequal durability in comparison with the frontal plates and appeared to be the most vulnerable part of the tank's hull and turret.

8. The tank's hull and turret side plates were penetrated by armor-piercing projectiles from the domestic 85 mm and American 76 mm guns at ranges of 800–2000 metres.

9. The tank's hull and turret side plates were not penetrated by armor-piercing projectiles from the domestic 76 mm guns (ZJS-3 and F-34).

10. American 76 mm armor-piercing projectiles penetrated the „Tiger-B‛ tank's side plates at ranges 1.5 to 2 times greater the domestic 85 mm armor-piercing projectiles.»
