Off-Topic / Venezuela in uproar
« on: 16-04-2013, 08:04:46 »
After winning the elections in a fraudulent manner, today the country is in turmoil. Millions of people are protesting, people have died and many of the votes boxes were stolen and burned by the corrupt government.

Hundreds of documents have established of the fraud and everyone is going in the streets to protest.

Not only that, but assassinations of several politicians that supported Capriles, the man who wants peace and the presidencial candidate; have died.

There's also lootings across cities and many soldiers are throwing their weapons and uniforms away in support of the democracy.

Gentlemen, as a venezuelan. I am fucking scared for my country and my family. And I think that this will only end in bloodshed.

Off-Topic / How to tell my mom I want to be a Marine?
« on: 15-12-2012, 02:12:21 »
The title is self explaining. I've been here for a year already, I already have my green card, and I decided to join. Since I came as a refugee, I was given asylum and full residence. And now, I want to join the Marine Corps as a M1 Abrams tank gunner.

It wont be easy mother, a person that is very stern about the military and always saying that the military are a big problem here, doing war for nothing, and she's very worrysome.

I dont want to break her, but, she will go insane with this. But, I already enlisted, and my delayed fitness program is gonna begin by next week.

How could I do to break the news to her?

Suggestions / Arming distance of PIAT
« on: 03-11-2012, 20:11:37 »
This thing can be used as a noob tube, the user doesnt even has to worry about killing himself if he just hides behind a wall after firing. I suggest a proper arming time to discourage the bad use of the PIAT. Its just running around and firing this thing like a noob tube.

Off-Topic / The Cosmoline horror, Mosin Nagant 91/30
« on: 29-04-2012, 06:04:32 »
They gave me a Lee Enfield for christmas, very nice canadian made and very accurate...but the ammo is fairly priced. Since I have a minimum wage job I really cannot afford to shoot it too much, so my fix for my shooting fix? I bought a Mosin Nagant 91/30. Izhevsk arsenal, all the markings are there, bore very sharp, and the stock was perfect when I got it, just some marks on the wood and that's all...and shit...shit...shit...shit...

The rifle came dipped in cosmoline, it smelled awful, and the plastic bag where the sling and cleaning supplies came...the oil can was dipped in it too and the sling, ammo pouch and wool toil bag came out awfully dirty because of it.

It was a pain to even dissasemble the rifle. The cosmoline got some parts glued to the metal it was extremely dirt of it and I hated every nasty smell of it. So I wore gloves, got the bolt out. I tried to remove the two screws but they were stuck because of the cosmoline. I had to use both hands to get them out, after it, I removed the two rings that hold the wood upperguard together...and man, it was a pain. The cosmoline was inside the stock buttons to get them out and I had to use a hand and the tear tool to get them off, after that I removed the very dirty cleaning rod...also very dirty on cosmoline and grime.

The stock came out off the barrel and receiver assembly with the rest of the pieces and holy shit. The whole stock was extremely dirty, was horrible. I got some huppe's 9 to do the job of start to start on the metal, since that chemic destroys the wood finish, I didnt touch it, I used a hair heater for some 15 minutes on the stock and the cosmoline started to sweat off, I wipe it clean after a few passes and then dig it on water, and dried 10 minutes later, and now it was very clean.

The work on the metal was tidious and long. I applied hoppe's 9 to everything and the cosmoline started to come right off...I had a entire bag of gun patches, and by the time I finished with the barrel and receiver and trigger half of it was gone. Then I applied grease and left to dry. I also finished with the magazine and follower and did the same thing. After they were clean, I applied some cleanex inside the barrel to start getting the cosmoline out. I put the cleaning rod and some patches inside and what came outside was...SHIT. A batch of a black hole, the white patch turned very black just the first swipe.

I gave it 8 passes in total and it came out very clean, and I was happy with the results.

After such work, I cleaned the holes for the sling and then the sling and back with normal detergent and all of my work was done...not, the bolt was my last step.

I had to look for tutorials of how to dissasemble it. I did and the tear tool is very useful, all the vids I saw was with the guys pressing the firing pin on some wood surface and then doing pressure, and damn, while I did could dissasemble it like that, it was after I learned of the tear tool technic and it's just better, more efficient and quicker. I had to apply more hoppe's to everything and then clean it off, got some inside the small circular parts and started dumping tissues, by the time I was done, the patch bag was gone and so were half a packet of napkins. I applied gun oil, cleaned the excess and assembled the rifle all together, did the same with the bayonet and oil can.

In total, I spent till 1 am cleaning the rifle. I started at 7. Tomorrow I will go to the range and test it, see how it does. I bought tula made 7.62x54R non corrosive ammunation, 60 rounds and some stripper clips.

Here's my Mosin...I shall call her...Katryushka.

FH2 Help / Support / How to replace sounds?
« on: 17-10-2011, 00:10:23 »
I've wanted to replace the K98k sounds forever now, I never liked how they sound. I already have some files sampled and ready to replace. Can anyone tell me how to?

Suggestions / Lower recoil in smg's and pistols
« on: 12-10-2011, 21:10:17 »
Currently the recoil system for the MP40, Sten and Thompson. I understand, that nobody wants to see a run and gun spammer. However, right now it's completely ridiculous that I cant fire 3 shots without that my weapon flies 1 meter off target. And instead I need to fire bullet by bullet into a target from 30 meters. So can you please tone the smg recoil a bit?

Regarding pistols; it's completely the same. There's exagerated recoil, you fire two shots, and you're at the mercy of your target, since you'll completely miss because of the recoil in the heat of close range shooting and you'll get killed the majority of times.

So please; lower the recoil in smg's and pistols.

Thoughts opinions?

Suggestions / More range for 88 HE timed fuse
« on: 08-10-2011, 19:10:36 »
Range is too small; like 150 meters, should be much, much more. Even in Gazalla, there's a range problem, where it explodes at 100-120 meters too short.

Suggestions / Remove Wespe 2nd passenger.
« on: 29-08-2011, 00:08:21 »
Seriously, of all changes, this was one that it's mostly pointless. I know, you wanna enforce teamwork and that the wespe has a gunner and a driver...but nobody uses that way. One player hops in, drives and shoots, taking his sweet time. The other day I was the driver on the Wespe, in villers vocage...762 server. The gunner wanted to kick me because I was the driver and he wanted to do it on his own. Even an admin said that it was pointless and that I got out of the vehicle, or I will be banned.

Suggestions / Lock emplacements position.
« on: 26-08-2011, 02:08:18 »
I would like to suggest a system, to lock down emplacements, in order for them to be more effective in combat. The button could be toggled or perhaps selected from the ammunations menu. The gun or emplacement could be locked in place and not move erraticaly like the current movable emplacement do.

Suggestions / Vehicles dead animations
« on: 20-08-2011, 07:08:08 »
I was playing Men of War, I noticed that vehicles in particular, when destroyed, the vehicle if they were at 30mph, they'll advance a little more, before stopping completely, going sideways. I wanted to know if it was possible to do it with the BF2 engine.

Because a vehicle going at 50mph, blowing up and staying completely still except for the frame moving, it's not very plausible to me.

Suggestions / Include free look for AA guns.
« on: 08-08-2011, 07:08:25 »
Is actually the most annoying process to look around with the AA. I know is fast, fast as your mouse. But it would be more essencial to have a free look on the AA guns.
