I would like to see more destroy-able buildings.
BattleGrounds Frontline, a BF2 mod, uses a lot of them.  There is a map where you can destroy almost all the houses in the village.  I think most people's computers can handle that nowadays.
What about adding chairs, tables, or boxes that can be moved in houses.  I figure they can serve at least two purposes, one being able to use the item to see out of some windows that are just to high.  A second purpose would be to use the items to build a "wall" to hide a squad leader behind (of course a well placed grenade would blow that plan to pieces lol)
The problem with such things is that we would need to add a lot more network objects to our maps and the BF2 engine does not like that. It sucks if only some things (barrels, boards, tables, chairs) are movable or destructible and others are not.
We have a few such gimmicks on some maps. Purple heart lane has a tin can with networked physics, so you can move it around by shooting it.

FH2 Help / Support / Re: Seeding the Files

I guess the problem is that utorrent usually creates a subfolder from the torrent name in the folder you selected as download location. So if you tell it to download to c:\games\bf2\ it will actually download the files to c:\games\bf2\fh2-client-3.4.311\ . You need to disable the subfolder creation somehow when adding the torrent file.

Your error indicates that your user.config file must be corrupted somehow.
"FH2CommunityUpdater.Properties.Settings.get_firstRun()"  is accessing the config file, everything after that is beyond our control.

Have you even downloaded FH2 yet? or does the error appear before the download?

please try the following:
click start and type
then press enter. now type
dir "%LOCALAPPDATA%\Forgotten_Hope"
press enter again and show us the result here

Maybe the launchers config file is defect for some reason. If you delete it, it should create a new one without errors.

So delete the following folder manually: C:\Users\<your username>\AppData\Local\Forgotten_Hope
(Note: you may need to activate "show hidden files and folders" in windows to find it)

or open the commandline and run the following command:
rmdir /S /Q "%LOCALAPPDATA%\Forgotten_Hope"

General Discussion / Which OS do you use to play FH2?

Which OS do you use to play FH2?

No, sadly we do not have bot support for the new maps yet.

Coming today at 1800 UTC, the news that everyone has been waiting for.

The Road to Forgotten Hope 2.53 - Part 1

No one needs to prove anything here, I think readers here know when there are opinions or verified facts. Its fine any way.

I can tell from my own experience that some of the friends I introduced to FH2 also mostly stuck to playing singleplayer because they felt too bad to compete in MP or wanted to play just a quick game during times when no one else was playing MP. So yes, whatever there is to improve singleplayer, we will consider it.

If anyone is interested in working to improve the FH2 singleplayer experience, join our public discord, since the dev team currently has no one working on that.

Non-official copies of the game doesn't establish connections to the official gameservers.
And they can't play SP anymore either without some sort of hack. I wouldn't count those players as "part of the singleplayer community".

That is wrong. You can install bf2 and play sp or coop without any internet connection. All you need is a CD key valid for the installer, then you use an offline account ingame to play sp or coop. It does not check if your game or account is valid. You can even run a server (not public) and play in LAN with your friends.
Only when you try to join a public internet server from the ingame list, you need a online account and gamespy will check if your cd key is valid (bought) and not in use already. But since fh2 uses its own gamespy backend, any cd key in the correct format is considered valid.

Since EA chose to shutdown their backend, we can no more differentiate between bought or generated keys. As far as I am concerned, players count. We are not the EA police.

I send you a PM to test some things.

Hmm, try it with another username and password?
Otherwise you can just leave the user and password in the launcher empty and login in BF2.

Youtube and some surfing is not a proper test to see if you have stable internet connection.
I would first try some other multiplayer games to see if your internet connection has a general problem or if its just fh2/762 server?
Also try switching from wifi to ethernet if you can, as it may also be a wifi problem.

There seems to be a in problem in your user.config file. I recommend to delete everything in "C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Forgotten_Hope".
Please report back if it you can play again, after you deleted the config and made a new one.

Not 100% sure, but DIN1451 is used for a lot of things in FH.
