Singleplayer and Coop / Re: SUGGESTIONS FOR THE AI DEV(S)

I think the AI has more of it's own mind now with the mod than it did before.  It might see walking as a better way to stay alive than jumping in a jeep in the middle of a combat zone.

Oh, and speaking of the AI, it doesn't see to follow attack commands (as commander) very well.  The squad leader stay god knows how far back, behind friendly lines, and just stays there while the AI squadmates spawn on him and get mown down 10 minutes later after walking to the attack point.

Thanks.  Maybe just make it so the AI can't see through any entity?  Just my 2 cents.
If that's even possible without rewriting the whole game, though.

Does the AI know te difference between cover and concealment?  I find myself constantly getting shot through hegegrows (namely on Point Du Hoc when an MG42 Lafayette gets set up in the farmhouse or a halftrack rolls in)and when I'm completely in a bush on singleplayer.
It is possibe fix this?

This was sort of meant as a quick look thing, not much in it.  Thanks anyway for the link. :)

Ah, the grenade.  So true, that first picture. :)

And yea, the maracas animation is in there.  It's actually quiet entertaining to watch the still animation for all the weapons.

Tactics & Tutorials / Sniper tips

Just a few tips for snipers I though up whist playing some infantry combat on Operation Cobra and various other maps.

When sniping, try to stay as concealed as possible.  For the best results, try to expose only your head, and on some parts of the map, only your eyes.  If your position is exposed, this will keep return fire ineffective.

Use your camoflauge they way it was supposed to be used for!  For US snipers, you have a folliage pattern*, stay near hegegrows and line up sights with a pesky machinegunner.  As a German, you have a grey pattern*, stalk the buildings and pick off the unsuspecting soldier with a bazooka.  As a British sniper, you have a dirt tone, stay near fields and hay stacks.  Remember, do not put yourself behind a contrasting backdrop or a tank is sure to spot you, or else you'll be using that rifle of yours as a peg leg.

If you do happen to get into a fire fight and have no solid cover around, toss a smoke grenade (if you're using the proper class) at your feet, or in between the ground between you and the enemy.  If it's the British smoke grenade, toss it at the enemy.  You're likely to injure, if not kill them, in the process of escaping.

To have, or not to have.  A scope, that is.  Depending on your enviorment, iron sights may prove to be a better choice, or the scope.  Scopes are suited for long-range target finding and eliminating.  Iron sights are the proper choice for city maps or places that require a larger field of view.  IF you happen to be stuck in a field with a stationary target, you can still hit the enemy with your binoculars.  This can easily be done by aiming the "I" of the binoculars at the soldier and swaping to your rifle and firing.  Your rifle DOES tend to sway during aiming, to take that into account.

That's about it from me.  Nice first post, eh? :)
