Modding / Re: FH2 Modding Q&A
« on: 16-08-2012, 00:08:51 »
Hi all, can anyone tell me where I can find the engine sounds of the tanks in FH2? In which file they are located? I can't find them anywhere.

Thanks a lot in advance.

Hi,

maybe a silly question - I've been playing FH2 for a while now but never got around asking what the difference is between the tank rounds. There's often four types of rounds; the top AT one, a second AT one, the HEAT round and finally smoke.

But  what does the second one do - assuming the first AT round is your standard AT one, and it always looks like you've got plenty of those as opposed to the second AT round.

Thanks.

OMG - like we didn't see that coming..

Oh man,

this idea of spawnwaves was like.. what I imagined for years now! This is how gameplay should be! The best battle is always at the start of the game since everyone is packed and facing eachother off all at the same time. Now it will be even better since at the game start people still need to join in/start up.

I truly hope the concept of spawnwaves won't disappear due to complaining n00bs who are used to immediate vanilla spawn. I have yet to experience spawnwaves though - however - I just KNOW this is going to be the best thing ever since.. like forever!

I also REALLY like the concept of individual team flags, the example shows this 'battle for the bridge' and I can imagine this is going to be very cool! Like in Medal of Honor multiplayer, two teams opposing eachother fighting for similar objectives. Very curious how this will play out!

And ya, the Hellcat.. woohoo sexy momma has arrived! Nothing needs to be said more about that update. :P

But uhm.. any idea when this patch will come out? I'm dying for new FH gameplay. Right now it's still a bit vanilla backflag capping gameplay and I hope these gameplay changes will bring a much improved experience. Just too many flags on the map and no one guarding them (who wants to sit and wait?).

I'll check back for the release. :)

*P.S.  What/where is the loading music called/from?

Ah yes.. I played FH1 a LOT and will never forget that loading theme! It's so incredibly epic it instantly put s you in the mood and gives you that fighting spirit!

I think the undefeated WW2 theme music is that of Medal of Honor. Michael Giacchino correct? It's the kind of music you'll hear once, and never forget. He's definitely gone into my history book of gaming, and I think for many others as well.

I don't think the rock tracks are very fitting, neither are tunes that belong in another time period (70's/80's etc.) But Michael Giacchino is a great suggestion. I even installed MOHAA the other day - great replay value and I think it's got better physics - with regard to soldiers - than any other game out there. Especially in the very first two titles you could make them dance and squeel by hitting them in the foot or groin. MoH is all about details and realism, and that's what makes it classic. A bit off-topic, but I just had to say it!

Off-Topic / Re: Fallout New Vegas teaser trailer released

Hmm, no doesn't really look like it. A cape and a helmet can make you look like anyone these days!

But I'm interested in this new expansion - even though I won't be playing. F1 and F2 always fascinated me, the port of F3 to PC is so crappy even MY laptop can hardly run it. I played it on the XBox 360 but god, playing a shooter with a controller is just a sin, I think it's blasphemy!

Anyway, the trailer reveals too little. Now that I think of it it's justprobably to keep us curious, but I was hoping for more!

Heheh, and while you're at it - tell him to hurry up because I can't wait to play it!  ;D
he said there were different devs... ::)

Ah yes, didn't read that right - just tell him I enjoyed it to the fullest and wasted many of my youth's days playing it.  ;D Now off to motivate the 'new' Interstate team for a release..

As mopskind said, in this case "Feuerbereitschaft" is correct. He is ordering the crew to prepare for another shot.

Hmm.. I guess that would be it. Thanks for the help guys.

As I said, there you have it!
Seriously, it is that, quite obviously.

Good for you! Guess you really needed that 'approval'  ::)

Well, actually I'm convinced he repeated what he said, since the first half couldn't be heard due the gun shot. I'm kinda appalled by your translations, for example 'bereitschaft' is no where near what he is saying! I still think he's saying 'reit ab' which directly translates 'ride away' but I'm just curious about what he means with that. I do think that he means to push on forward or that the enemy is fleeing. I don't think it's propaganda; look at his face - he forgot that the camera was there as he gives that surprised look - obviously in the heat of battle you quickly forget about the things that aren't important and the filming came on 2nd place. Thanks for trying though..

Are you german? It's '-bereitschaft', to 100%, I just listened to it again.
Neither would 'reit ab' make sense, nor can it be that because there is definitely a fricativ between the diphtong 'ei' and the last sillable with the 'a'.

Assuming that you are.. but I am Dutch so I recognize the accents. I can hear he is specifically using the rolling R at the start of whatever he's screaming, and 'bereitschaft' seems too long and inappropriate in that situation, like Siben said, he screamed something at the crew after the gunshot how would that refer to readyness? If you can elaborate on that I might find it more convincing, still wondering why one would put such tone on that R while it's in the middle of a word instead of the start (as opposed to my suggestion).

Looking good - I played the first mod to death - I could've sworn though, that the version for BF2 was dead. Perhaps this is another Interstate mod, or they picked up where they left off? Anyway, is there a release yet..?

Thanks. Sniper machinegun does in deed seem to be the spot on description.

Any ideas on that youtube movie perhaps?

Hi all,

I've seen this MG42/MG34 setup in many movies - it looks awesome! Is this the lafette? And how is it operated? It looks so damn convinient, you could operate it with one hand and in the other a cup of tea, just aim and fire! How they aim and fire as they don't seem to touch the actual machinegun at all.

And one more question.. on this movie, this German guy says something like 'reit ab' and repeats it. What does he mean by that? Flee? The enemy is driving away? Are they hit? I've seen that scene come by so many times and I'm wondering..
