Signatures can be 600 pixels in width and 80 pixels in height! This is the maximum overall size. Any bigger and your signature will be removed. Please fix your signatures as soon as possible.

But I understand that Toddel. Also, I am guessing it saves considerable bandwidth. However they are nice sometimes, because they distinguish the end of the post. As well as display the poster's identity. Most people don't look at the avatar, or the name, they look at the signature.

Actually your current sig is still too big:

That is a 80 pixel image (maximum height of overall signature) plus some txt and line break above it This brininging the total height to 110 pixels. :donitz: ;)

anywho, you can try using tables if your height is too much for something like this IF it passes Mod approval.

Alright, I'll use this thread to ask for resizing.
Can someone resize this signature without stretching it? So more like Zero's sig.

I don't see why they would be, your sig for example is only 658 KB which isn't that much.

As long as theres a fixed size rule(in KB) for the sigs, I think animated ones should be allowed.

It's not like the people that play FH2 don't have computers that can handle animated GIFs.

I don't like it. Some people have slow connections, maybe not in Europe, but there's still quite a few people who'll need 3-4 seconds to download 600kB. It slows them down quite a bit. I personally suggested a 200kB limit for animated signatures, however, I'm not the majority, so let them decide.

You can turn them off if they annoy you.

And firefox has an adblocker plugin that you can use to block only certain images.

IMO the 80 pixel height limit is a bit too harsh, but well, we don´t make the rules...

Good thing I keep multiples of my signatures stored in my Photobucket, all different sizes, for just such an occasion.  Call me: The Signature Batman.  On the other hand, this does give me a good excuse to make a new FH2 flavored sig...  We'll just call this one a place holder for now.

EDIT:  My avatar resized itself, but it didn't stop being animated.  Cool.

I tend to use quotations over pictures as a sig. Firstly, it says something about me, secondly, it won't disappear if the image host disappears.

So that's why I use the quotation from Blackadder.

There is a forum rules sticky that includes the signature rules.  No need for a second rules sticky, besides sometimes people tend to skip over stickies (bad people, bad!) but they do notice a normal and active reminder thread. Atleast that is my experience from the old forums. :/

Alright, new sig, this time a bit more appropriate for FH. I´m not so content with the letters but I ran out of inspirations...

Canadian had US weapons if they were with the 1st special force: the devils brigade, but the regular army used lee enfield.

I'm having a hard time finding nice photos of P-51Ds in flight, preferably in combat/performing aerial maneuvers and also in black and white.  I have an idea for a sig, but damn it if I can't find the right picture...  I was also looking for Spitfire pictures like that too, but nothing I find can be used for what I'm thinking...  The pictures have to be able to be smashed into our itty-bitty sig space as well... 

Damnit.  Isn't there some kind of wartime photo archive somewhere?  Preferably an easier to search, categorized one...

Well I found a nice P-51 picture, and after some finagling around with GIMP, came up with my current sig.  I don't have the artsy-fartsy touch, but I like the way it turned out.  Nice and simple.

I always liked your sig, Slayer.  But the max dimensions here is 600x80 pixels.  Yours is 250x150.

I took the liberty of resizing it.  Unfortunately, it seems to have lost something in the transition...

I noticed the restrictions while reading the forums bit by bit. Thanks for helping me out. As you might notice, I was making a new sig in the meantime. I'm not really great with images, so this is the best I could do: even more Typhoons, yay!

Looks nice Slayer  :) Really colourfull. Though resizing has pixelated the Typhoons a bit. Maybe cut off the top or bottom so it looks better when resized. Not cut of all ofcourse just a little piece thats not important.

I thought the pixelating was limited enough, only the rightside Typhoon has some small artifacts. I did all this in Irfanview, so I'm pretty satisfied, especially considering my image editing skills, which are next to non-existent.

I might try the cutting thing, thx for the suggestion.

Thats what I mostly do, so the thing what the image is about can stay larger. First picture can miss a piece of the bottom for example.
