Title: Airsoft
Post by: THeTA0123 on 13-10-2009, 21:10:24
Soon, i'm gonna start with airsoft. A mate of my does it(He has some very nice war weapons aswel) introduced me to it, and i'm very intrested.

He showed me the rules first and such, and this friday, i'm gonna shoot my first airsoft round aswel.

I'm very intressted in this sport, and i was wondering if their are people here who also do this hobby. And if they can give me tips, or good places where i can purchase decent equipment(Mainly the airsoft weapon itself, i can get my hands on clothing and such)

Or any experiences you want to share?  ;D

I'm an Amateur Airsofter, and I might be able to reference you to some shops to buys airsoft guns, depending on what type of gun you want, how long you are going to participate in the sport, how often you play and what your willing to spend. Electric, gas, spring, expensive, durable, starter...what are you looking for in an airsoft gun?

Well I have not gotten "into" it yet all I have so far is a spring pistol.

It works nice its a crosman  P9 stinger ;D durable also.

The problem with me is that the orange tip bugs me so I repaint and weather the gun xD  ;D looks real when im done.

Haha, yeah I hate the orange tip (even though it's required by law)... I had an M9 that I painted to look real, It never leaves my property now due to the facts I might have some legal issues if it's seen...  :-X

First of all what kind of gun are you looking for? Spring,Gas or Electric?
(Yes I do airsoft, im on a team so i can answer any questions)
For sidearms those are 80% looks and 20% useful, go for a main weapon first.
This is the only european airsoft site I know (I accidently stumbled on it a few months back) http://www.airsoftworld.net/

I don't know if thats Euro or Pounds so sorry, if your looking for a site that sells for USD I can give you plenty.

If your going for a main weapon, what kind are you going for? Semi-Auto, Auto. Rifle, LMG, HMG, Sniper, MG?

Its a fun sport yea, used to shoot sping pistols with an ex-friend of mine around our house in some woods. Doesn't hurt as much as paintball, and its fun cause you can get guns that look like real military grade guns (M4s, M16s, combat shotguns ect). Just don't shoot around in your basement, or you'll do like I did and have a round ricochet into your opponent's ear. (The round literally went inside his ear canal)

Just some more advise, watch/read some reviews on the gun before you get it! That way you will know what to expect with whatever you buy

They will help you get very cheap reliable working equipment, if you are serious about joining airsoft.

I have several toys, the electric one, a Chinese made AK-47 replica (CM.028). It works though with some reliability issues (the safety switch loosen few times and jamming the motor several times). The battery itself isn't long lasting, after several charges, it dies out very soon. However, it is quite good for the value (around US$80 for new, i got it for US$45 at bargain).

The other ones are gasses, M9 pistol, and H&K P8. Dunno what brand they are, but it was old one and from Japan and the other is from Hong Kong i suppose. The M9 have plastic body, but the later one have metal frame and is so strong that it can penetrate 3 carton boxes at once.

Get the Japanese, Hong Kong, or US one, although it will cost you more. For Chinese brands, have to look on reviews first. We usually took references from here: airsoftworld.net and airsocom.com

Some people here love to modify and customize their airsoft guns, mechanically, which is dangerous, some have improved the muzzle velocity so much that it nearly match pistols firing live rounds. Stupid and dangerous it is (and illegal)... but many people do it so that the bullet hit will be felt by people wearing thick protective suits. My experience with these idiots so far has resulted in my friends having a BB round stuck... i repeat... stuck and planted in his inner skin (exposing a bit of flesh) and produce a big acne-like wound.

Well i'm not planning to do that. I'm gonna play airsoft to meet new people, and to have a good time.

My mate recommended me this, once i was more into the sport, as a beginner's weapon

And i had my eyes on this one aswel

Looks like an FN FAL, is it one? :D

OMG... anyway as much as i opposed animal cruelty, but to answer your question. It is quite effective under 10 m (33 feet or so) to kill vermin like rats so i think birds won't be much problem. It will create a lot of mess though.

I'm against animal cruelty aswel, but these things attack everything. And they reproduce so fast, other bird species getting attacked, or are getting their food away....

You'd be MUCH better served with an actual air rifle for killing magpies (a shotgun would be even better still).

Does anyone know a site who sells replicas of the FN FAL?

Got a M4 (electric) and a Ingram M11 (gas) laying around but havent used them for years...

Always liked the Ingram better. Gas operated softguns just feals better - but of cause having to carry gas around to refill your gun is a drawback.

On the other hand electric guns quite often jam - or atleast thats my experience.

And dont shoot birds with your softgun -as you wont kill them but just maim them.
Get a real air gun if your gonna do that.

Alright, I’m back, sorry for the late response, I’ve been awfully busy.  Anyways, some of the websites I’m familiar with, wouldn't do you any good unless you want to pay a high shipping cost, but some good brands are...Echo 1, SRC/TSD (the newest gens), KWA and Classic Army (expensive though)...avoid Toyko Marui and the old SRC or just most Chinese ones in general…And get a 4/10 shotgun for birds/rodents!  ;)

Yep... Tokyo Marui is very expensive, since they claim to be the "pioneer" of airsoft gun.

Hong Kong ones like Classic Army is already up to Marui's quality, but slightly lower price. Still expensive though.

Yeah some matches can last for days, theres a field in scotland that has over 60 acres of forest, used for fields.  What i'd give to live in scotland  But aside from that, so people do re-enactments with airsoft.
Not like actual re-enactments like some members here do but re-enactments like this

Doing some test with camouflages, I used different types of tape, then made it dirty, and spray painted it.
Not really happy with the result, I can buy sniper tape but I wont.
The reason i'm using tape is that I don't want to spray paint the body of the rifle.
One day I will but it needs to be perfect then.

Not with a 300fps one. Maybe with a 500fps one. Either way you're more likely to just wound it than kill it.

get a bloody BB gun. I suggest a Beeman RS 1000 .177 calibre with the 4X32 scope.  Magpie Sniping, anyone?
It goes at 1400 FPS! as fast as a Magnum 500!

I also have a KWA Glock 17 witch I love.

i would say die hard when u spend thousands of euro's on it :s

I got my clothing for 100€  and a used (Was used only once before)Classic army M15A4 (Basicly a M4)  for 110€

its all bout the fun

anyway, the skrim was very very fun. Lots of diffrent missions.

and this thing called speedball=aka shoot at eachother, dont respawn, he who can take most pains win

That was on the last half hour of the day. Tbh that wassent fun anymore. Many guys where Rambo'ing and breaking rules. One ass tried to spray us (We where lieing in a pit, pinned down) 2 Meters away from us.

However, the guy was out of ammo, lol, so with 5 VERY ANGRY AND RAGED PERSONS we opened fire on him.

If he doesnt wanna follow the safety rules.....bastard

Cheap and painful airsoft sniper!

The crosman R34 spring m16.

I opened it up lubed up the cylinder stretched the spring and it shoots 350 fps! :o

It has a overall pretty strait trajectory. I was able to hit a human size target at 153 ft away with .12 gram BBs and 167ft away with .20 gram BBs
Title: Re: Airsoft
Post by: THeTA0123 on 30-10-2009, 18:10:43
thats nice  ;D

i tend to keep it cheap also. I payed 80 euros in total for my clothing and equipment, and 110€ for my airsoft rifle.190€  thats enough.

When you see those guys, with 6 airsoft rifles, with all those accesories, with those better batteries

Sure thats nice. But a bit over imo.

I remeber this guy. He had with him 2 gillie suits. One was very nice and costed him 45€. And the other one 110. He now used both suits twice each, and he wants to buy himself a new one, costing 250€! For god sake, why is this needed? Surefly he shot me twice, but when i was 2Meters away from him, i could still see him.

Well i did a couple of airsoft skrims. And i really have to say this is a great hobby.

Its not the weapons and stuff, but the challange in terms of condition and stuff. It was first very exaushting but now it gets better and better. The running and jumping etc really kicks up adrenaline.
And ofcourse the guys who play it. Everyone talks to everyone. Lots of social talks. Many diffrent kind of people (From lawyers to Truckers to military men)  (One guy for instance, needed to go to afghanistan, and he and 2 other guys did alot of sport etc, with every sunday some airsoft for average workout)

And last skrim, i saw 3 German Falschirmjaeger reanactors. Those guys their camo clothing and weapons. God, vonMudra would have gone wild when he saw it. 2 Carried mausers and one a FG42(Wich was accurate to the wood and markings on the gun)

However when they said the price they had to pay for the entire package, i fell over (5000€ For the guy with the FG42!!)

I believe some of you guys also do this hobby, and can someone give me a good site? I saw many good polish sites, but i'm looking for one wich you had experience with, and one as close to Belgium as possible :)

I also encounterd some weirdo's. One guy like this   http://lh4.ggpht.com/mikequell/R6vGDtrCKWI/AAAAAAAAAn4/tvH40MGc6L4/s800/soldierinternet.jpg

He kept complaining that he got shot, but if he took cover behind a regular standard tree, they could still shoot him

And this girl in a ghilliesuit. We where both pinned down by a sniper, and i distracted the sniper while she shot him(Like in a movie lol)   But then she was like= YE TAKE THAT ***** THATS RIGHT ***** Thats what you get when you stand in front of my lee enfield!! (And she started to hug the dam rifle)

Cute but freaking scary  :P

I wish airsoft was more popular here in Canada. Retailers that sell airsoft guns need full blown firearm retailing licenses, so the price of them here is about double. Same for shipping them in from importers.

I paintball alot with milsim weapons, and it's great fun, but it feels like a really crude and "unrefined" type of recreational wargame.
It's dirty and grungy (especially in indoor fields), and the weapons are really... utilitarian (no matter how tweaked out they are). What I mean is that the most effective way to use any paintball gun is as a straight up assualt weapon. Always flank, always maneuver, burn in close and light em up. They arn't accurate enough to reliably get the drop on someone from long range. You can never "surprise" someone from a distance, because 90% of the time, the first shot will miss.
And then there's the players. Paintball is a much more mainstream hobby, and there's always a low ratio of enthusiasts to casual or first time renters. Ripping up a gaggle of terrified asian girls and then having to apologize profusely afterward gets old pretty fast. I'd much rather test my mettle against fellow fighters, challenging each other with tactics and maneuvers.

If airsoft is a sniper rifle, paintball is a battleaxe. Don't get me wrong, its a blast to hack stuff up like a barbarian, but sometimes you want that satisfaction of a well planned and executed strategy against other people who appreciate it.

Its ALIVE! *Bump

.... sometimes you want that satisfaction of a well planned and executed strategy against other people who appreciate it.

Seldom I get a chance to paintball, but I find it more preferable than airsoft.
Sure its crude and 'unrefined', but you need the right fellows and the right area.
Thankfully there is a nice spot which is heavily wooded (You can get lost), has a nice open area with tall (waits height) grass, wide muddy roads, and lots of couches and other sturdy junk to make fortifications.
As for 'who', a couple of friends are in the military (Crack shooters...) and the rest have actual experience with guns.

Indoor is crap really.(No offense)
But its no fun with our getting dirty.

Any one else paintball by any chance?

*Le Bump!*

Bought a KJW Mk.II Gas Carbine/Sniper off of Airsoftgi and it should arrive next week.

A Customized one
(http://i482.photobucket.com/albums/rr182/Telcius/Picture014-1.jpg)

My UTG M324S Gen. 3 sniper was a spring sniper that although I loved dearly as my first serious gun, was too slow and only good as a begginers sniper. The Gen. 5 is out now and I'll eventually buy the upgrade kit for my Gen. 3 to turn it Gen. 5

As my search started and I found the KJW Mk.II, I read maybe 70 some-odd reviews and found that the gun is a great carbine sniper of sorts!

It can take any gas too, from the humble HFC 134a to the godly Xtreme Red gas. The FPS ranges from that of 350-ish to around 638 fps. (With .20's) The Barrel is roughly 17" but somewhere out there is a mod to make it 32" - 33" so I'll look into that. The body is made of ABS and plastic while all the internals are made of Metal. (I plan on putting in a itghtbore for my sexiness)

For an optic mount, I'll be using a Leapers 4 x 32 scope that I used to use with said M324. If the carbine is wonderful, I'll probalby use a Red dot somethin or another scope, depedning on range and such. I'll be sure to post when it arrives about my general thoughts on it.

For those of you with the UTG M324, A teflon/tightbore mod can be found http://www.airsoftohio.com/forums/showthread.php?p=98716 (could somebody tell me how to put the link in a word? I.e. link here) that will increase the FPS quite alot! (The M324 is nice, but its a begginers rifle. It's good for experimenting on though! I may spraypaint mine too)

I had my dad order the gun, but due to verizon (or w/e we have) upgrading servers in our area. the internet at his house died before he could order it. So instead of going for the carbine, I decided I liked the look of the Classic Army Full Metal FS3 SG1. Basically a G3.

you shall not regret it. Classic army is the best one out their.

Tokyo marui has somehow fallen from competition long time ago imo. 10 years ago it seemed to be only decent manufacturer, but it doesn't bring new nice stuff to markets fast enough and cost more than many other companies.

Weapon and protection glasses/mask.Thats pretty much it. One can get decent electic automatic gun for 100€ easily.
Easiest way would be find out local hobbyers and maybe ask if someone of them could borrow gun for test match and then it's easier to decide do you want to buy your own equipment.

^this

we had 3 new members, they first borrowed our guns and spare clothing. All 3 wanted moar and now play it active.

But first, try it out.

In terms of a new hobby, airsoft allows you to stay cheap in the beginning. and allows you to stay as cheap or as expensive as you want

If you want something that Kicks ass, go for a AGM Sturmgewher44/mp44! ;D Fits well with both my modern age camo kit and ww2 SS kit. ;D

Currently weathering mine a little bit, to give it a battle-worn look, restaining the buttstock to make it darker.

400-450fps with 0.20 bb's, full metal construction with Real wood. costs about 140-220 dollars (depends on what website you buy from) and have a good 680-700 rpm, wich is very good wfor such a strong AEG

sturdy as hell, and we all know how sexy an STG44 is.

this is an absolute winner.

Basically what Apa and TheTa said.

goggles or eye protection.
weapon of some sort.   = done.
This goes for everyone: If any of you need me to check out a gun or want a particular type of gun (i.e. best M4 for under $200) then give me a pm

Earned $60 today, only need $40 more to get that magical FS3 SG1. For those of you who possibly own an M324, heres a post I copied and pasted with all the upgrades for the gun.

I am a proud owner of a M324 for several years now. I have experimented and tinkered with this baby for quite some time and learned a lot of things. I have decided to share my knowledge in this topic.

Gun specs:
Type: Bolt-action, Tokyo Marui VSR-10/US Army M24 Sniper Weapon System Clone
Stock Power: ~1.6J, *400-430 FPS @ .20g
Barrel: 464 mm aluminum, *6.14 mm diameter
Weight: ~7 lbs stock

Available Upgrades:
EdGi
(http://img392.imageshack.us/img392/5643/edgidd3.jpg)
•UTG M324 V3 6.01mm Barrel $75.00
•UTG M324 V3 6.00mm Barrel $80.00
•Heat Treated Steel Sear Set $50.00
•7mm Steel Spring Guide $32.00
•Anodized Alloy Piston $60.00
•525fps Spring $22.00
•585fps Spring $22.00
•Cylinder & Cylinder Head $75.00
+ Flat-rate shipping $10.00
EdGI may also offer discounts on complete kits. Please contact them via email or telephone (found on their website).

DBCustoms at AirsoftGi, ($45.00 witgh flate rate shipping) 6.01mm'

LayLax springs at Airsoft Atlanta
(http://img374.imageshack.us/img374/917/laylaxab4.jpg)

•Laylax VSR-10 120SP Spring $17.99
•Laylax VSR-10 130SP Spring $17.99
+ Airsoft Atlanta Shipping (shipping varies)
You can get higher rated springs but I would NOT recommend it due to the flimsiness/lack of durability of the plastic trigger mech.

The rest of the post talks about the M324's custom bucking which is not compatible with any gun or upgradable.

I've tried a airsoft gun once... it was.. "A little" tuned marui VSR-10 G-spec... we tested stock power: 180m/s (591 fps) with that 0.20 ammo. Many of my schooltime friends (boys) play airsoft. I never played and probably never will. Just tried that gun :P

It´s pretty cool, sturdy and the 3x scope works like a charm. The rifle´s body is amde off plastic, like the real one, while the inner parts, the barrel, flash hider and trigger are made of metal. Currently it´s rather "naked" but I like it that way, without too much "tacti-cool" stuff. The only thing I might get in the future is a front grip and a EOTech replica, like for example German paras or MPs use it.
Too bad I haven´t had the chance to test it in the field yet >.<

I bought a used ICS AK74m, or maybe it was CA, can't remember, some time ago.
Was upgraded to 350fps, with a precision barrel as well.
But I didn't play the sport, so I sold it after a while. If you want a fun gun for plinking, don't get an AEG, they sound horrible and aren't that fun to shoot. Get a gas blowback. They run on propane (aka green gas, but propane tanks can refill them with an adapter) so they're cheap as dirt to shoot. And of course the blowback action makes them fun to shoot. Not to mention that they're powerful. Yes, they can (theoretically) kill a bird within 20m, though you may need several shots.

If you want a gun for plinking, why not just get an actual air rifle.  I though the point of airsoft guns was to have them suitable for shooting at people.  So if your not going to do that, either get a replica or deactivated gun if you want to look at it, or an air rifle if you want to shoot targets with it.

Im picking things back up, after 2 months (work and such got between)

Soon we gonna do a camping trip. First a march of 10KM in wich we must find our way to our private forrest

Next up, we gonna set up camp and spend the night, like most of the guys did in their conscription.
Then the day after, we're gonna do a whole set of missions.

I bought myself a STAR FNC to match with our Belgian army clothing. 3 of the guys also have it.
Also switched from those stupid high caps to low caps. They are far more realistic and fun.

They use Co2 and are as such expensive to shoot. With propane one can shoot all day. Personally I'd want a bolt action though.

It was a great weekend. Well for the first day. Our night-dropping was a 9km long journey in the dark forrests of Schaffen/deurne and diest.

Me and 2 others went ahead, placing charts and maps the other 6 guys need to complete their journey, aswel as items they HAVE to take along with them

Several area"s where marked, wich indicated where we 3 will lay ambushes for them.
Now this was so fucking fantastic. Sometimes we heard them from half a mile away, ambushed them and shot them to pieces..

But later on, they caught up... And in complete pitch black darkness once, 2 m away from me, a flashlight got turned on(they had to to find the map)
I swear to god, the FEELING and adrenaline you get, When that happens, is undescribable. However, as i said, they caught on. I opend fire on the first guy, and suddently from 30m away, all 5 remaining of them opend fired in my direction. I was completly Pinned down by them, in wich they started to use tactics to surround me.

I ran for it, going down a hill.........

Where i fell and twisted my ankle. I still continued the journey with the other 2. Running... ambushing on the way

After the march, we where suppose to march for another 3 km, set up camp and spend the night, to play a round of airsoft in the morning. My ankle was hurting like hell and i couldnt even stand on it anymore. So i went home.

Such a shame, but the night dropping was intense
Also my experience with the French/belgian army Combat daily ration=

Its actually pretty good! 16 menu's to choose from, they are packed with alot of stuff, AND the things you need to get things heated, and many other stuff like towels, water purification tabs and many more

But one thing the french did not thought off where= A Fork, spoon and knife

But nothing to fear! as i had a SPORK WITH ME from SIE MIGHTY GERMAN ARMY

FUCK YEAH!

Great story, Theta!
I´d really love to participate in a longer airsoft missions with night marches and combat one day. Too bad the airsoft scene is rather small here, mostly due to legal reasons...
Btw, all a German Bundeswehr soldier needs to eat his food is the issued spoon! It has sharp edges so you can cut meat and noodles into small bits and then just shovel them quickly into your mouth. :D

A guy who orders things straight from the companies producing all the equipment for the Belgian army. It is cheaper then in the official MIL shops for pity sake :P
But he doesnt sell much to military personell actually. Airsofters like me, paintballers, Police, Pathfinders (you know, those youth programs and such)

Including the food packages :) but he only has a limited stock and sells out very fast

I had Menu No 8
-Salt pork with Lentils for the noon meal
-Sausages in spicy sauce with vegtables and rice as supper

And siben, they where pretty good :)  And the concrete army cookies=NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM

Yeah, a Klappspaten is a very usefull multi-tool. Doesnt matter if you want to slash someones throat, cut through wood or barbed wire or simply want to dig a hole to poop in (true story), all can be accomplished with it. :D

We used to play in the forrest since I live in a rural area and it was tons of fun. Unfortunately it´s always a risk, since it´s not quite legal. If we´d have an own private property it would be easier, but seriously, who owns land big enough to create an airsoft field? :/
Those French rations sound cool, similiar to EPAs. Any chance we´d get a link to that shop, Theta? I already tried MREs and EPAs, but I´d really love to try the French ones. :P

Sounds delicious!

Some airsoft groups that organize Skrims here in belgium often sell Field rations, MRE's, french and German one's aswel

But i am always to late to aquire the German one's  >:(

I still have three of them in my cellar and ate quite a few during my service and I actually really like them. Two hot meals (I think we have 6 different hot meals, traditional German meals like sausages with lentils or Gulash or even more exotic meals like Indian Curry Rice or Torteloni with tomatoe sauce and mushrooms)), a side entree like fruit salad, tons of sugar, drinking powders and one of the most delicious chocolate bars I´ve eaten so far. If you like hard crackers you should really try our "Panzer crackers", they´re really good, too. But they have the habit of "stuffing" you, so you can´t take a dump for 3 days (although I never experienced that ^^).
The only thing I don´t really like is the rye bread, but there´s also enough cherry or strawberry jam inside to cover up the bread´s odd taste. ^^
You should really try to get some of them, they´re (atleast here) often being sold on EBay for around 10 to 15 Euros per pack.

Might be a good thing to just accept that the people who live on the isle of Britannia have no idea what cooking means. Though the exceptions do exist, with Jamie Oliver and Gordon Ramsey and shit.

(Try to guess who i am in the above picture :v)

With us 7, we first did regular battles. In wich we used our regular guns.
Darkness soon fell... With a reason, because we all had aquired ourselfs tracer magazines + BB's.
This was one of the best purchases i ever made.. My god it was so awesome.
You cant see for shit, and when suddently you see a line of tracers coming your way...
Its even more epic when the tracers hit a tree or so, making an epic lightshow

Darkness became darker, and we found out it was better to REMOVE our winter camoflage (AKA cheap White labcoats :v)

I´ve heard about those tracer BBs and mags, they seem to be really cool. Tracers are generally cool! :D

You'll feel it most of the time. There are some occasions in wich you dont feel it, i once had this.

Fairplay is the biggest issue in airsoft. Every hobby has this

If you play with friends, everyone takes his hit
But if you go to open evenements, or skrims, theres always someone who doesnt take his hit. Wich can be frustrating. However it is important to then report it to the Marshall, or as we do=We keep firing and firing and firing untill he DOES takes his bloody hit. Sometimes you just have to

You would be amazed how effective it really is.

Close range     not much unless its autumn
But on long range, it has proven its effect for us.

Its much more effective then all those Wannabe MERICA guys with there digital patterns. german and Belgian camo users have far more advantages then them  ;D

A friend of mine has a "WTF AMERICA!"-loadout with ACU combat uniform and I always laugh at him when I can spot him through the woods from faar away, while my cheap Flecktarn uniform works like a charm.
He always insists that ACU works well, but there´s a reason why the US Army is starting to switch back to a "non-digital" camo pattern. :D

The reason I think Belgian camo is odd, are the bright colours. Bright yellow, red and almost turqoise blue.  :-\

KSP
I know, its not tokyo mariu.but i find paying 350 euro to much

I payed 135 euro for this one. Tested it in the backyard. It shoots pretty good

It will mostly be a reserve weapon if my FNC fails, or when we do missions like Sabotage or missions in you need to require to carry something. I love to be the idiot volunteer for those missions

Flaktarn ftw. I have 6 sets of flaktarn uniforms! (jacket and pants)

Belgian ABL camo may sound odd, and i had alot of laughing germans laughing about it. But on long range and in autumn, it really is good.

We use other camos though, like a desert camo for afghanistan. There might be ABL camo's for that in the future. Our own woodland, our own urban, our own desert and such

Because our Ministary of defense wants to deploy our troops much more in the future

So im getting this. I always wanted to have Kalashnikovs.

I used to play a lot with my cousin and his friends, we pretty much went all WW2. Now its just me and him and we have converted to the British, and we generally skirmish in the summer as them. British KD is in my opinion some of the best looking kit, although we mainly fight in JG. Sten is a pretty flakey gun, but it looks great. I also have a Dboys K98, AGM Stg, AGM MP-40, Browning Hi-Power, and a Luger.

My cousin actually managed to build a set of bunkers that stretch over the better part of his property, plus a series of fortifications in his forest. :D His friends have all went modern but I despise modern forces attire and the whole 'tactical' nonsense that goes with it. Also half of the bozos want to be marine recon special forces sniper ++, while we prefer bog standard infantry.

Depends from brand to brand

I saw a STG44 by a german reenactor once, and i swear to god...

If i gave it to Vonmudra(but did not told it was airsoft) he would say=thats one very good condition Stg44

There is an airsoft manufacturer who specializes in WW2 replicas. I forgot the name, but they are know to be craftsman with there guns and still with an decent price(well 300-400 euro starting)

It is remarkably easy to fix by just drilling a new screw into it. That being said, my cousin's STG has never had a problem with it.

In order=
RPK CM 0.51 (http://www.taiwangun.com/machinerifles_aeg/cm_051_cm-1639.html)
SVD A&K. its gonna be a bitch to find the matching scope (http://www.taiwangun.com/sniper_rifles/custom_sniper_rifle_svd_wooden_style_a_k-2353.html)
AK74 BoYi (http://www.taiwangun.com/electric_air_soft_guns/rk-06w-real_wood_boyi-2631.html)
Title: Re: Airsoft

I've got the black version of the A&K SVD
http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=154_157&products_id=5963

Two, actually, due to a christmas gift screw up  :-X
Its quite accuarate, but the mounts are extremely expensive, its better to get a AK47 (I think QD mount, or something like that, just pm me and I'll find a link). Apparently, the airsoft replica version of the scope is poorly made, I've seen many reviews saying to just get an actual SVD scope, since they are more often cheaper and etc.

and a forewarning, its a very very very very accurate spring gun, but the lever/bolt WILL need some oil, its very hard to pull back

2DazLayer:
Wow, that is pretty damn accurate, even the helmet is correct! Also, a good choice on the AKSU :)
Concerning the A&K - it is much better than the earlier version of the Atoz rifle (which is now discontinued). Its by far biggest advantage - it can handle very strong springs only with minor upgrades of the other parts. And it beats the price of all other SVD's, which have many more flaws (Classic Army, Real Sword... G&P lol).

2THETA:
"RPK CM 0.51". There haven't been any insightful reviews on the Russian forums on the insides of the MG. Would be interested to hear more about it from you ;)

2Hi:
Don't get the Chinese replica. Even the civilian variant - POSP would be better (4x24 is plenty). Of course, if you want a really good scope, I'd go to the source.

2THETA:
"RPK CM 0.51". There haven't been any insightful reviews on the Russian forums on the insides of the MG. Would be interested to hear more about it from you ;)

Once i have tested it, ill make you a review and you can pass it on :)
I do however have to say, the site we order, taiwangun, customizes every airsoft weapon they sell, by replacing cheap parts with stronger ones

It is however, there most sold Machine gun so it has to say something

Things that are only custom-made in Russia by airsoft fans:
1) RPD (only one made, more could follow)
http://airsoftgun.ru/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=100112&sid=4f430be0b8d36800e3c197d7946792bd (click the links in the first post)
2) SR-3M (produced in limited numbers)
http://airsoftgun.ru/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=89383&sid=4f430be0b8d36800e3c197d7946792bd
3) PK (produced in limited numbers)
http://www.radikal.ru/users/midfielder/pk
4) AS VAL (produced in limited numbers, same company as #2)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dAKkx1Xyd74

#1 and #3 are reported to be in very good quality, #2,4 have undergone a few overhauls already and the quality is improving fast, according to people who have purchased them.

Yep, the PPSH has a been long awaited addition to the Soviet airsoft line. I have heard that PM (Makarov's Pistol, brother of Walther PPK) is in the works.
Also, has anyone tried the Zeta-Lab Mosin rifle? I haven't seen any reviews so far.

Ialso got the kalash aksu74
you should change the barrel as its a bad one,
internals are ok, but if its your main aeg I would change it, at least the piston/head, cylinder/head.
Then a madbull 120 spring and you will get around 400fps.
Out of the box you get 400 fps too, but something may brake.

This one is mine.
Tuned with Deepfire full tune bore up kit.  ;D
next I'll get a new barrell.

What barrel should i get then Irish? can you reccomend me one? because i dont know much about it

Also in Belgium, the maximum Velocity a AEG may have (in official airsoft skrims) is 360FPS
Title: Re: Airsoft
Post by: IrishReloaded on 07-04-2011, 12:04:47
360 fps, then I think the stock china aegs may be too strong for your country.
here we usual play with 400fps +5-10% tollerance up

Madbull 100-110spring and madbull barrel.
I have the madbull black phyton 2 barrel in my M4, and I quite like it.
Sure the Prometheus is better, Im running one in my main aeg, a M16a4, but its quite expensive. (and im not sure if they have the right lenght available.)

For akku, try to get a lipo + the right charger, as lipos are really good.

This was a bargain (89€) so couldn't resist. Yes, I know, I don't do airsoft, but it's such a politically incorrect piece of furniture or party accessory so I was compelled.
Made by GSG, electrically operated, single shot or full auto, hopup, muzzle velocity is a puny 93 m/s or 305 fps firing 0.12g / 0.004oz ball, but what you can expect at that price. However, the thing is worth the accessories alone, it comes with flash suppressor, silencer, adjustable red dot sight, carrying strap, tactical handle, one magazine, battery, charger, has four (!) rails for attachments (which are on standard mountings and thus can be removed and installed on a more pricey G36 which do not all come with the rails on barrel sides).

2Dazlayer:
The RS type 56 is very nicely made and the quality of the internals is very high. However it is absolutely useless, at least for reenacting/milsim games, which comprise nearly 80% of all games in Russia. Unless, of course, your team is modeling Afghan guerrillas or some African tribes.

2THETA:
The last line of DiBoyz AKs has been noted to be somewhat better than the last line of CYMA, so go for it!
Concerning your question to me - are you sure? Those are nice guns, but they are by no means cheap ;) A kit (externals plus a mag) is about 650$. People still buy them for that price, though. The guys can't reach the economies of scale of the Chinese manufacturers.

2Irish:
Poor guys, that would suck. In Soviet Russia (lol) the allowed speeds are 172 m/s for full auto and nearly unlimited (>240) for single shot rifles, technically incapable of having auto or semi auto fire and having mags of 10 or less. In practice, speeds above 160m/s are reserved for the heavy machine guns for realism purposes. Normal AEGs are typically limited to 135 m/s by standard game rules.
Also, according to what I have heard Bore Up is not useful for speeds less than 120m/s. A standard Guarder kit is way to go IMHO.

Thanks :)

And here is the info I got from the scan of the certificate of the AEG (which certifies that it complies with the rules and regulations of Russia for airsoft rifles):
"Airsoft tactical weapons" LTD (OOO Strajkobol'noe takticheskoe oruzhie)
35-3 Sovetskaya St.
Magnitogorsk, Chelyabinsk region,
455017
phones:
7-906-8716957 (mobile)
7-3519-209941

Although the probability that they can speak good English is not very high. But who knows? ;)

Auto (AR, SMG, BR) ~430fps (130m/s)
Auto (LMG/MG) ~460fps (140m/s)
Semi-auto ~490-500fps (150m/s)
Bolt Action ~660fps (200m/s)

Inside they have 360fps (110m/s) limit for every(?) class weapon.  So pretty much higher than in belgium at least :D

Just give police a heads up of your plans and it's all fine here, police is awesome :)

As example, they asked me to come by for my gun licences, they gave me a list of what they thought i had (witch was like completely wrong, had rifles on it that i never owned, wrong calibres, wrong names, wrong everyting pretty much) and asked me to correct it and drop by in a few weeks so they could adjust it al.

Other example, chief of local police was stupidly drunk (together with the mayor) at a large party we gave last september with a few of my friends.

Nice, I've got a SPR Mod 1 that looks just like it, with everything except the ACOG. Only got to fire it once or twice, since the gaerbox was a lemon and there was no way to return it. So I got a new gearbox that wasn't wired the same way unfortunately. So now it sits in my garage, disassembled and has parts occasionally interchanged with my Wellfire M16A1 xD
Title: Re: Airsoft

make the wires on your own, its not that hard really
if it is front wired atm just make the black wire to your back, and the second red wire from back to motor.

motors are shit btw.
Last game: Pinion gear of TM 1000 down
this game G&P motor down, no idea why, not even single movement even with battery directyl to the motor -.-

Title: Re: Airsoft
Post by: THeTA0123 on 18-06-2011, 18:06:05
Had one of the best public skrim airsoft events i ever particpated.

Both teams where fairly equal. Both teams played roughly fair.

Tested out my new CYMA RPK. I love this baby. We setted up a defensive position in a trench.Got myself properly set up, equipped the RPK with a 750 round Hi cap, and 2 other 350. What followed next was a huge battle between 15 enemies vs 5 of our own. They tried to advance, but i continuesly layed down supressive fire in 10 round bursts. In the meantime, one of our team was winding up my HI caps and keeping them operational

The gun shoots very smooth, far and precise. But i did missed my mid-caps and a drum magazine. Got both of them orderd and should arrive in a week

For the second half of the day, i went sniping for once.Setted myself properly up in the dunes, made sure i couldnt be flanked, and took out 5 men and they never even saw me  ;D
But it was way more fun to use the scope and identify targets towards my team.

With the 3000 round rum mag (70 Rounds IRL for RPK and 75 for RPK-74)

mid cap of SRC(140 BB's). Standard 30 rounk AK magazine

750 Round hi cap that came with the gun. 40 Round RPK and 45 Round RPK-74 "banana magazine" IRL

And regular AK74 hi caps. 400 rounds.
All of the magazines are of the SRC brand, exept the large 750 round hicap and 2 of the normal hicaps. Those are of CYMA. All magazines work perfect. I really like the gun itself.
Goes very nice with my just bought, Russian Flora camo VDV uniform  ;D

Anyone here have an experience with the SRC brand? I've always wanted to own an M4A1 (practically ever since I got my hands on CS:S back in 2005) and I found a local store where it costs just some $275 which is rather cheap compared to other manufacturers' prices (Classic Army etc.) over there. It's the full metal SR4A1 generation III. I'm asking because from what I've read/heard the reviews were rather mixed and next week I'll get the money earned in the summerjob and I thought I'd finally give the airsoft a try  :)

I think SRC is a bad deal. I buy my guns for externals and SRC is lacking in that area. "Wrong" materials and wierd assembly. But if you are after good internals SRC is great. Gearbox in generation 3 is very nice. I would only buy SRC if I didnt know how to upgrade/fix internals.

I upgrade all my internals anyway so I buy my guns for externals.

BTW Theta I've got a CM.052S (RPKS) coming in this week :D

awesome dazlayer, you wont regret it

anyway, it is now 3 AM and i just came back. We went on a huge military depot for vehicles of the belgian army. It is partly abandonded , with remaining equipment pretty much forgotten. There are roads with dozens and dozens of hangars, most of them empty, around 1/4 is locked down however, we did a sneak peak inside, alot of army trucks forgotten  :-[

the combat was intense. many buildings in wich we where allowed to play, on our own! in wich 5 guys went inside a 3 room warehouse and we had to assault it, most intense airsofting i ever done.

But we had permission. The terrain is so awesome, we are gonna ask if we or somebody else can host a Airsoft event there.
Nobody is using it anyway...the money could do the belgian army good!

Mauser 98k!

my new beauty, sanded her down yesterday because of typical bad chinese staining.. i cant even describe the colour.. allso the metal is on the way to be sanded and re-blued..

its gas operated from D-boys, NOW before anyone goes of saying "dboys SUCK!!" well yes.. they did.. i had the 98k springer version some time ago, it sucked.. this one on the other hand does not :) looks like they got rid of the double-barrel setup, better o-rings, and so on.. i havnt gotten it chroned yet, but with greengas i figure  its about 350 ish.. and its pretty cold outside, so its performance is sure to be better in other conditions..

The ring where you attach your belt on in the front is on the wrong side, other then that, nice :)

Nice to see your scope mount side rail for ZF41, not sure if it is 100% acurate though.

Congratz on your purchase :)
Title: Re: Airsoft
Post by: sn00x on 14-10-2011, 18:10:10
haha, yes siben.. i was like "damn it!" when i was to attach the sling, i put the gun together in a hurry to get some pics for Josh! ;D it is stained now, and have a more Walnut look to it<3

allso allot of people have fittet the zf41 to this rifle ;) the bayonett attachement thing doesnt not work on the other hand, i will fix that aswell sometime, but its not priority :)

I figured the fps is around 300-350 with greengas and quite cold weather (from what i Saw, i havent chroned it yet :) ), i gonna install KJW (it has the right inner barrel length) M700 barrel and open the gaschamber to improve the o-rings in it, and we'll see how that changes the gun!

i allso have to get to know if the marushin 6mm brass shells fit this gun, the aluminium ones get damaged to easily :/ but they have allso improved the O-ring on the shells aswell!

Few small observations, the 2 bands that hold the wood to the barrel at the front of the rifle are of early/pre war design. The stock and the front sight are to mid war specifications. Hurts for me to see it like that :(

This is what i mean, the 2 butt stock designs, and the 2 different front band designs (it is a small modification, the belt on this one can be installed in 2 locations, normally it is just the side one) and the 2 different frontal hood disigns.

it is a -Custom- viva arms, with new TM p90 hopup (flawless feeding), new std inner barrel, new ver.3 gearbox, custom  original drum mag (sturm mag) made into an electric 2000round mag. all is done by a certified CNC operator and airsoftplayer..  wich explains the price og this gun! dont worry Hi, i have allready skirmished with this one in july ;) i want to see if it can fit a high torque motor.. and maybe an precision barrel.. fun.

Current exhange rates, according to my uncle who is there

EPA=5 MRE's
RCIR=6 MRE's

Last week, i was at an airsoft skirm. 2 teams of 40 men each. Each team had a bunker(old belgian army) and they had to send in a sapper to demolish it, or a demoman as they called it

So yeah, when they asked for a volunteer, i INSTANT stepped forward

So the marshal=
-Okay demoman, your job is to deliver this package of explosives, plant it, it takes 30 seconds to arm it and then detonate it from a safe distance!
me=AYE

what company are they from?  :)

The M16A1 is a Jing Gong (JG). It's ok, but has A2 parts on it unfortunately. IMHO it packs a punch, but it's more of an expensive starter gun than something to go indepth and mod etc.

The Sr-25 was a D-Boys Mod 0/1 (one of those) that was part of their custom line for 2010. I only fired it three times, then it broke. Some sorta gearbox issue that I plan on finally fixing sometime this weekend (or replacing it) It's pretty cool, but if the gun still has problems, I'm gonna for sure use it as a parts weapon for the A1 and any other M4/16 platform guns

well, mine is good, but its alu shells easyli gets damaged to the point where you can throw them in the bin..

now if you ever gonna buy, buy the Marushin 98k with brass shells.. there the real deal! ofcourse Tanaka is an Option, but their prices have gotten sky high the last year.. now i even see them selling them for 800dollars! 1-2 years back they where 350dollars! :o

Post by: :| Hi on 04-12-2011, 07:12:22
Tanaka has always been expensive  :P

I want a Marushin M2 carbine, but I couldn't justify the price for a 30-round mag that only works depending on weather, not to mention the hard to get gas.

I decided to take a picture of my collection, and show it here. Currently, it's missing about 2-3 plastic shit pistols, an M24, and another SVD (Which I'll be giving away to a friend soon).

A little airsoft store opened up in the Antelope Valley (where I am), and I decided to pay a visit. My friends in our airsoft players group could only say good things about the store. I have an D-boys/boyi Sr-25 Mod 0 that has a broken gear box. As a matter of fact, the replacment gearbox is broken too. Upon de-greasing the overly greased replacment gearbox (it was fixable, needed rewiring), I found that:

1. Holy shit china, I can understand your motto on over greasing gearboxes, but use quality grease

and 2. The spring guide was cracked.

A check of the original gearbox told me that, it too, had a cracked spring guide.
"Fuck," I quietly thought to myself.
Now I had a motive to check out the new store, which had opened but a few weeks ago.

After removing both spring guides, I hopped in the truck and away I went.

Upon walking in, I was greeted, and a wall of the finest G&G's caressed my eyes. JG's sang in the background and Classic Armies sang the chorus. The overwhelming smell of freshly opened airsoft gun boxes  and a pile of MRE's graced the corner of the room, with MOLLE gear holding me close. The KWA's and WE
s beckoned me to them, from under their glass enclosures, whispering sweet fantasies to me if I bought them.

I approached the cashier after a pack of infidel's left the store, asking if she happened to have a spring guide for a version 2 gearbox. She got a glazed look in her eyes, I could see flashsbacks to 'nam. Deep cogs within her mind speeding along. She didn't, but could order one. Turned out, she was co-manager with her husband who works at Edwards AFB. She doesn't know much about airsoft guns, but would be happy to have her husband order me one.

The place turned out to be really cool, and she was nice. Stepdad told me since I hadn't gotten anything from him/mum for my birthday, I could get whatever I wanted in the store. After giving her one of the broken spring guides, I looked at all she had, and decided to pick a gun when I come pick the gun and the part up next week. I just can't decide what I want! She also had a claymore ffs, so much want.
After buying the spring M3 greasegun there for $15 (it's actually pretty nifty, I like it) and the MRE for $5, we talked for a bit and told her the local airsofting group I was representing was incredibly excited and happy to have a local airsoft dealer. She gave me 2 $25 passes into the local paintball field, which ironically enough, has had to implement airsoft days due to the surge in airsoft players and the gradual dying out of paintball.

As per Operation Eastwind, I'm gonna be picking up a CYMA .048M for christmas.
Gonna replace the piston (and parts), re-shim, get stainless steel gears, and a precision barrel.
Oughta screw someones day up  ;)

I also asked for some parts for my AGM M16A1-VN, gonna turn er into an angel from which to rain down plastic death upon

Post by: :| Hi on 04-12-2011, 21:12:58
Only their AK line is good, from my experiences, everything else needs quality control ^^

Plans thus far:
Madbull M110 spring
Systema area 1000 oiless bushings
Echo 1/Modify v3 spring guide w/bearings
Bravo gear set (heat treated steel-enhanced)
JBU 6.01mm tightbore barrel
and a Systema turbo motor (short)

I might eventually go full on systema for internals, dunno yet  :)

APS AKS-74 I picked up today. Checked the insides and it's got the new gearbox they shipped out. Reading reviews, it was originally a shit series of AKs by them, but the new gearbox is better. Feels solid and internals look good.

Also, I know the CYMA AKM is under the tree. I saw the shipping labels on it before it was wrapped.

i cannot find a single source confirming this, neither at the most known airsoft pages. only people talking about rebuilding the Zeta SVT40.

not the first time i went to a airsoft skirmish and heard loose talk about guns being made, that ofcourse never where to be made.. sadly..

either way, my Viva Arms mg34 had its toll on my account balance.. even if a nice gun where to be released now, i couldnt have afforded it... oh the shame! the shame! :'(

how strange of this to come up now, a fellow ww2 airsofter claimed to have had a few words with Tomio from Shoei about their mp38 conversion kit for AGM mp40, and asked about g43, quote from Tomio

"Airsoft may be manufactured about G43, we are beginning to concider manufacturing it"

maybe they menth Shoei Theta?

Dboys 98k, ist the same kind of metal allot of gas guns use.. sadly, the part i grinded down, made the bolt somewhat strange to cock, because the metal is kinda.. how to put it.. soft, or wet? or something like that

thanks in advance.. im saying it as i am leaving for the army in 5 hours.. so i wont be on this much the next year..

Went airsofting today in my usual NVA gear, brought both AKs and my Dragunov, ohoho.
Unfortunately the wiring in the AKM fucked up, so I'll have to re-wire it D:    I kinda planned on making it li-po ready eventually but I guess now's the time.

my little RPK sasha did her job fine aswel today. Best investment i ever had

One guy of our airsoft team sells military stuff and such, today he brough 50 smoke grenades of various types as a sort of product testing

Enola gays airsoft smoke grenades are pretty good

But in the end, the military smoke grenades did the job at its best, and it helped alot in the offensive

But you cant use those everywhere, while enola gay can be used everywhere

Well, I put a 11.1 Li-Po to my AKM-47.

40 rps.
Holy shit it was crazy.

Then a few piston teeth broke  ;D
Gears fucked 'em up, but now I know the lesson for using polycarb piston with 50/50 teeth (6 metal 6 poly)
Will be ordering a new piston eventually when I get cash.

Yesterdays game: (Just copy paste to notepad)

Today’s airsoft game
Was pretty cool. It definitely made me confident in my abilities as a future ranger/spec ops.
We were very efficient when I commanded the squad and totally fucked people up.
The very last match, was a “man hunt” match. Where we divided the teams into 5 v 5/6.
MAP: H           ROADROADROADROADROADROADROADROADROADROADROAD  OutOfB
        H                       Our base                Enemy base
        H                                                                 RV Point
H           Road area road area road area road area road area
We (the hunted) immediately ran to the mountain at game start (this is roughly an acre or two, the field that is) and then broke into 5 individuals and began moving seperately to the Rendezvous point. The RV point being a small clearing with burnt joshua trees. The enemy team moved up to the hill and one of our guys was shot in the leg then out.
Eventually, myself and a sniper met at the RV and then were met by our other two mates. Two snipers on the hill saw us, and the enemy team started to move towards us. We took the lower road and started to head towards our base. Along the way, an enemy team member sprang out and killed two of us and then ran away. The rest of their team dove on us and started to fuck us up.
I managed to get into position and killed their LMG guy who was wielding an M249 when he stepped into my path and I was to his right. My remaining teammate was under heavy fire and retreated and I hid in a bush. He drew aggro and then ran away and sat “wounded”
The guy who eliminated half of us linked back up with his group and one started to walk past my FOV when I lit him up and he retreated. The others started yelling about my position and tried to net me when I decided to run along the lower road area.
I ran as fast as I possibly could, AKS 74 in hands, the dirt and pebbles becoming a blur. I vaguely remember BBs hitting the ground by me and flying past me, miraculously none hit.
I passed my “wounded” teammate and dove into a bush near the road. If I was going to go out, I figured I’d at least ambush them.
5 minutes later and their remaining members started to walk past, talking about how I was fuckin crazy, nobody knew where I was, and am crazy good at disguising myself via my BDUs camo.
I just listened to them as they walked towards my bush and they all started to seperate. 4 to one side (their sniper came as a recording guy so as to not sit around as a dead guy) and 1 to the other side. The one would have definitely noticed me, so I peered through the bush and readied my AKS-74. The selector switch clicked into place, reading Automatic in the Cyrillic alphabet.
I opened fire.
They scattered immedietly and I mentally rewarded myself for getting two of them.
I dashed out of cover and they had no idea how to cope, just blindly firing or trying to move out of cover.
Then I tripped on a rock, we all laughed our asses off and I called game.

Now for my latest project of sorts.

At the last 2-3 games, I decided fuck the giant orange compensator on AKS-74.
I "unscrewed" it without trouble from the glue, but some raging assmonkey at the manufacturers plant put fucking solder on the fucking threads. Took off the compensator and there wasn't much left to see. Almost enough to mount my silencer but not enough unfortunately, like a tease. Total bullshit.

So, I cooked up a new project as mentioned earlier.

I found a piece of discarded PVC outside and decided, hey, why the hell not.

(Piece of PVC and old compensator)
Now I'll be making a new compensator out of PVC (Not to mention painting it almost all black with a little orange at the tip for legal purposes)

AND I'll be making a custom, fully functional silencer for my AKS-74 too!

It'll be filled with foam to mask some sound. I'll also be putting foam under the dust cover (whatever the hell its called) to cover up the sound of my gearbox and make my gun much quieter.

To mount both of these (separately of course), I made a quick detach system. On a bad day, it only takes 5 seconds tops to switch them!

In other news, I decided that instead of upgrading the shit out of my G3A3, I'm going to drop a Polarstar Fusion engine "gearbox" into it.

Not only is it almost universally usable in all V2 gearbox platforms, but it is fully adjustable for free thanks to the on-board fire control unit!
The gearbox, wireline, and gas tank will be about $675, but I'm fine with saving up for it. Did the math and that means I'd only have to open up 14 gearboxes at work! Definitely worth it IMHO for a lifetime warranty uber-box.

VN just about complete for the work I do with it.

Might switch out the gearbox for another I have, if it is quieter.

Also plan on packing the insides with foam for even more quietness.

Update on the AKS-74 parts:
Painted the compensator today, will add a picture when it dries. IMHO it came out well.

Suppressor will take a little time, as I need to finish making it quiet with the magic of foam, etc.

Hello!

Since some time i wonder if i should buy a Pickelhaube (that prussian helmet) and wear it as a part of my airsoft clothing (a really strange combination of flecktarn-camo and a k98 ;D). But i ask myself if i would upset someone if i would wear it in the game (especially in Belgium). What do you think? Will the Pickelhaube be a problem? (yes i know the drawbacks of wearing a shiny thing on my helmet which says "HERE IS YOUR Target!!!" but i think it would be funny and i could maybe use the helmet in school for some history lessons).

Greetings Kratäng

On the otherhand though, I am not a native of Belgium, so I cannot speak for them. I'd ask around to make sure others are fine with it.

Double post in the SKY.

Anyways, I tried some .36s in my SVD.
Good lord.
holy shit.
Etc. etc.

I was going far with .3s but .36s turned the damn thing into a long range nail driver. I've never seen something shoot so well, its completely insane.

On another note, I might pick up another scope mount for my SVD, since my original broke. I've been thinking of ordering a scope from Kalinka Optics though.

I still need an East-german AK however.  I have several plans

Get this one and install a Real east-german pattern tube folding stock

http://www.taiwangun.com/electric-air-soft-guns/cm-050-ebb-wood-version_1.html
Or getting this Hungarian varient, wich has the folding stock, and then find a normal handguard

There are only three ways that Mg-42 is there.
1. One of you is a rich motherfucker
2. Someone took a de-ac Mg-42 and gave it life
3. One of you has way too much time on your hands

On another note, I might be trading my Sr-25. Only worth maybe $200 even with the work I put into it, for a Night Vision scope.
The guy is a friend of mine and he has wanted to build an SPR forever, so I could be getting $800 scope for basically $200  ;D

i guess thats number 1, Hi.

knowing that shoei mg42 is the the only one i know of that can have a dummy round belt in it (it dosnt have feeding tubes and shit like other Mg's like my VIVA ARMS mg34 wich btw allso is a insanly expensive airsoft rifle)
allso there is a scratch just above the ammo belt, wich looks allot like an alluminum alloy and the muzzlebreak dosnt convince me somehow.

i am assuming that is a Shoei.

my friend have one aswell :)

what Zeta gun?  :)

i allso hope that Shoei will look more into making an AEG G43, a friend of mine asked them on email if they are ever gonna make one, and they replied that they are looking into it :)

He recently bought it because his old repro uniform was to worn out. He putted it on so everything could be "used" for when he goes back to reenactment.

It is completely deserted except for the tower dome! Thats an FAA weather dome iirc, I just remember the FAA uses it for something, lots of fences and still active.

At one point during the night game, we were behind a squad of 6 people and we hadn't asked them the code word for our team yet (our pointmans call to do so whenever), we were stopped for 5 maybe 10 minutes, all guns pointed at these guys as they protected the objective. Then finally we found out they were friendly, got ready to help them, when Game Control called it over. The Objective hadn't been taken, but some fucker on the other team was going to start a fight with some other guy for a pointless reason.

thta looked like an awesome OP, i digg the site your playing on.
is it completly deserted? that tower dome and everything?

wish we had a big place like that to play on.. all we get here are sandroofs and small forestparts that are impossibrruu to play on (to much up and down in the terrain and thick forest) though i am getting connection with a friend to get a place where we can dig trenches and make logbunkers now maybe!  ;D

No abandoned cold war bases, barracks, silo's, depots.. anything? :D Thats what the airsoft people use here, abandoned cold war era bases.

nop, our government (socialism since 1945) was 110% sure communist sovjet wouldnt do socialist norway anything, so we didnt expand much (if anything had happened at all). there is one old base that i know off that can be rented or some shit, allso used as a how its called... where foreigners are put when they come to the country...

So I bought three Chinese spring-operated airsoft pistols on a whim (they were 5€ a piece, after all). However, what the actual frak did I buy?
OK, the top one looks like Glock 26.

The second one... it's like H&K USP with the slide from Beretta 92/M9 and with the trigger from USP Compact?

The third one... says "Eagle 51" on the box, looks like a pimped up M1911 derivative to me.

Any better ideas for the identification, or are they just what you would expect to get with 5€ ie. resembling exactly nothing)?

My first organized airsoft event was yesterday. Got to tote a SAW around and showed people how effective a man with a machinegun and a near total disregard of ammo consumption can be.
We took up defensive positions in a "town". I effectively was the extreme left flank. Took them half an hour to take out my position.

I was so proud that day, because i fixed my FNC rifle. Our private terrain was set open again.
I also aquired a FNC Bayonet!

i was sneaking trough the brush. I waited for like...30 minutes and then ambushed the entire enemy team. I ran and ran, and trew myself in a bush again...i stand up, walk 10 meters. Behind a tree...is a BLOODY wild boar. It looks at me, growls, runs towards me. i had to run to the hills. Untill it stopped after a while. I stopped, attached the FNC bayonet just be sure..but god my heart was pumping. It kept looking at me..like it was saying=GET OFF MAH LAWN.

then suddently it ran away because it heard distant gunshots from hunters.

So about a year ago i bought a HFC HA-102 M1911a1 spring airsoft pistol (for 20€). It worked just fine so far and i have not used it that much but recently it has started acting up. So what happens is that after i arm it and try to fire it usually "jams" at the half cocked state without firing. The trigger does nothing (obviously thats what the half cocked state is supposed to be) but if i as much as touch the cock it fires (which does not happen when you manually half cock it). So any ideas what might it be? Maybe its time to buy a new better one :P
Title: Re: Airsoft
Post by: Steel_Lion_FIN on 13-01-2013, 20:01:39
Well, not sure how it applies to airsoft guns, but the original 1911 didn't have a half-cock position, but it had a position that would stop the hammer if it slipped during decocking.
Title: Re: Airsoft
Post by: :| Hi on 13-01-2013, 21:01:46
Not too much you can do about it since its a springer

Whenever you cock it, try pointing the barrel at the floor so the BB moves to the hopup chamber without jamming it. All I can guess is that there are BBs getting it jammed.
Title: Re: Airsoft
Post by: MaJ.P.Bouras on 13-01-2013, 22:01:55
Its not jamming BB's as it does the same fired unloaded.

Title: Re: Airsoft
Post by: :| Hi on 05-06-2013, 21:06:17
Closkey, those were probably heavily modified rifles.

IIRC SRC, Marushin, and Tanaka all have garands. I think the Marushin for sure pings.

Heureux, its like looking into a mirror wtf  ;D

I've got tan boots in that style, tiger stripe, and I had an AKS but it was an APS Gen II V3 one.
Traded it away for the rifle I talked about a couple pages ago.

Actually, I was checking the M1 made by G&G (checked the company out after seeing the pic of the M1903 at the top of this page) and while the rifle looks great (full metal/wood), they have this weird mag thing that just puts me off (I'd never buy a Garand that works that way). I'd buy an M1A1 Carbine, but those also seem kind of hard to find.

Evike sells Matrix (agm?) MG42 to a cheap price.

Airsoftgame that was this summer. We allso mix allot of re-enactment into it, to give it the realism we crave.
My helmet was a bit to small (64 shell), borrowed an original to get rid of the reproes. (i am the krad driver and mg34 gunner in the trench)

Most of our uniforms and kits are up to re-enactment standards. (we concentrate allot on correct uniforms and encourage everyone to get as complete and correct at all times, this stuff is very expensive in norway and we have to import most of it)
Yeah, i know we got beards and stuff, but we are norwegian vikings and this is a fun hobby.

The krad is an heavily customized Dnepr MT11, got a new Chang Jiang 750, wich is under heavy rebuilding atm. You really have to know the bmw r71 to tell the differences.

The pictures in the bottom of the mg34 is where i got the two first hits of the game, i hit two british paratroopers! Hurray!

Hohoho! You guys jelly?

Genuine ww2 zf4 scope!

Opticotechna GmbH, Prerau (Czechoslovakia), code "dow". The last are marked ZF K43 instead of ZF4. BLM used almost exclusively "dow". Walther used in some cases "dow". The "ddx" scopes are the most common ones.

This one is an early one. Note the ZF4 instead of K43.

Got it a few years ago for about 200dollars, the mount is a repro.

Notice how the highcrap went where it belongs.

Yes, the 10 round mag existed.

It was used not only by the factories when testing the rifles, but it is allso claimed to have been found factory made in the field and also 30round mags field modified by the soldiers to get a lower profile on the ground.

Now painting the grip remains!

The Mosin is really good! The only tricky part is the loading system, and if you don't use good quality BBs and loosen the hop-up too much they just roll out. Otherwise it's very nice.

Title: Re: Airsoft

Really not! Here we usually have a mix, people all geared up for WW2 scenarios and modern ones.

Here, it doesn't matter as the teams are split by camo's color for exemple TAN vs GREEN or Digital Camo VS Other.

The bonus of having WW2 gear to play is that you can play "standard" modern games and you can play WW2 ones too. Also players love to see nicely done non-modern kits.

haha, good idea.

I think I'll wear my German camo smock and trousers, but not the stalhelm.  I'm a little worried about being pigeonholed as a Nazi.  I'll wear my French or Soviet helmet instead.  Since I doubt I'll be using a period airsoft gun, to hell with historical accuracy.

Allready got one, though its at my friends place since we bought it co-op! (He's my wingman in the sidecar of my motorcycle)

We allso got an original mg53 with shoei internals, that thing is a beast.
Some of the other lads got an RS brengun rebuildt to AS.

Latest project is an actual M2A1 howitzer from 1942. It belongs to the salut group i am in within the army, though negotiations have begun to see if i can borrow one for our re-enacts/airsofts. Ofcourse building a 40mm system that can be installed and removed at will on the howitzer.

Ofcourse we got an 1944 GMC truck Airborn model to tow it! Fun fact; for those we dont know what the airborn gmc version is, it can ble split in half and dropped in parachutes and assembled on the ground again.

Unfortunately no WW2 stuff, and no reenacting.
Inspired by the Austian 'Jagdkommando'.

Nice! You don't often see Classic Army models anymore, they have kinda dropped onto the side. I managed to secure a CA G3A3 off of craigslist awhile ago. They don't make them anymore and it is a ridiculously long rifle but it is fun. Working on slapping a P* into it now

CA is a quite underrated producer in my opinion.
The CA Aug Models are (externally) the best Aug you can get on the market.
I can't speak of the internal quality since i got mine second hand, with upraded parts etc.

Oooh boy, nice.

ICS I presume? I remember when there wasn't a good M1 Garand on the market and folks had to modify M14s, there were some really good project threads around then.

Post by: McCloskey on 20-11-2014, 12:11:52
why can't they make a 'proper' Garand?

Proper in what sense? I am not familiar enough with the Garand to pick out smaller details that may be wrong

Yeap, I remember one conversion a german player made:
http://oxatarms.blogspot.de/2012/01/m1-garand-aeg-conversion.html
http://oxatarms.blogspot.de/2012/01/m1-garand-aeg-conversion-ii.html
Pretty impressing in my oppinion.

The ICS Garand looks quite decent to me. Nice woodstock, high quality internals. The only thing i dislike is the sound of the gearbox and the metal part's finish (typical for ICS, the clear black coating).
I got mine second hand so it has a new mosfet and a slightly decreased muzzle velocity.

Neither do anyone have a proper 98k, Nagant, Springfield and so on and so on. they are all loaded this way. with the exception of those few models using shells, though again these are Not usable in a skirmish or anything better than hanging on a wall.

Remember this is an airsoft, and it is a proper Garand for airsoft.
You can bet the producers have tried making it load like a garand and obviously that isnt possible yet because no one knows how, or its just to complicated and idiotic to do.
Title: Re: Airsoft
Post by: McCloskey on 21-11-2014, 16:11:29
I'm pretty sure I've seen an airsoft M1 and K98 that had (more) accurate loading mechanisms, don't know who made it and apparently they had problems of their own since they are not widespread, but the loading mechanisms were realistic.
Title: Re: Airsoft
Post by: Phantom on 21-11-2014, 16:11:14
Marushin M1 Garand has a quite accurate loading mechanism.
Dboys/Marushin K98 even have fake bullets.
But none of these do perform well in games. I think the Garand Aeg is a reasonable compromise between realism and 'playability'.

Post by: Airshark79 on 21-11-2014, 16:11:44
Pardon my ignorance but from how it sounds dropping loading mechanics essentially makes the guns into barrels without any character. Is there any merit to attempt historical reenactments or combat roleplay without the bolt-action etc. mechanisms? Do they balance it out by smaller clip size etc.?

I have watched a couple of airsoft videos so far but my opinion that guns are too silent\similar in sound has driven me away quite a bit. What really is to look for in an airsoft event?

It's the closest thing to real combat without having to pretend you got shot or having your head blown off.

Most Garands with this feature were special ones made by a fellow on the ww2aa proboards iirc. They worked alright but required about $500 worth of work. Custom molds, etc. Basically not much in the way of upgradability unless you modified the gearbox and hop unit before sending your M14 off to be converted.

To be honest, to friends and I, we get the opportunity to go camp in some exotic location (former prison is our usual), drink, eat good food, and then run around having fun shooting people without the legal consequences. At the moment many guns do sound the same, but you can change that very much with rifles powered by HPA engines or gas systems. Different flash hiders produce different sounds.

More "realistic" sounds rifles would be great, however I don't see that being particularly manageable in some areas, due to idiotic youth trying to act hard, etc. Hell California just passed legislation for 2016 mandating that your rifles look like nerf guns. Fortunately pre-existing rifles only need three pieces of coloured tape on three various parts of the rifle.

Title: Re: Airsoft
Post by: Phantom on 07-12-2014, 21:12:40
Yeap, I used some sort of paint which is originally used for metal parts in indoor fireplaces. This is why you need to heat it up to ~180 degrees. After that you get a nice matt metallic surface.

My mg34 needs a refurbish in a way like this, but not matt. Anyone know any good riflepaint etc i can use to get a nice black metal finish? the alu used on the Viva mg34 is really crap looking with the green tint on the bluing or whatever they used.
Title: Re: Airsoft
Post by: :| Hi on 08-12-2014, 20:12:00
You could try re-bluing it. There are probably some good threads out there, I don't really mess with my exteriors enough to give an answer
Title: Re: Airsoft
Post by: sn00x on 10-12-2014, 19:12:09
most airsoft alloys will react to cold bluing chemicals, giving it a... sort of... in a way.. "blued" look that will fade with time and get ugly.

The alloy used on the viva does not react on cold bluing chemicals at all, i have no idea what alloy/metal/alu the thing is made of.. i guess my hunt for some rifle paint continues!

Does anyone of you know a decent K98 rifle?
The Dboys spring/gas versions sound pretty bad imho with theyr shell mechanism.
Tanaka sounds well, but the price is quite high. How about the G&G co2?
