I've just started doing my research into developing a bunch of maps, weapons, and vehicles that never had the chance to see full use or never seemed to work out. I have finally received permission from the FHSW team to use this name as well as any files that I may need to develop such a mod. If anyone is interested in helping just contact me since this is the first mod I've ever actually put this much work into. I'd love to one day see a Maus tank causing rampage on Allied tanks or the Messerschmitt Me-262 tearing through the skies of Europe.

Well its nice to hear from someone else who's interested in seeing the secret side to World War II. My only hopes from this minimod is that its done right and only helps to get even more attention for Forgotten Hope 2.

I'm still working towards that but I'm working on an Operation Sea lion map as well as a remade Alpenfrestrung map.

someone at Fht already ported Alpenfestung with Me262, tbh its not as fun in Fh2 as it was in fh1. Also I seem to recall a Sea lion map inspired by the brit sitcom Dad's army.

oh geez this kinda puts a damper on my plans. I thought a Operation Sea Lion map would do good for a vehicle like the Messerschmitt Me-323 Gigant to deploy a German attack force. Well if anyone has suggestions for what kind of maps to develop i'll gladly take them into consideration as long as it fits into the mindset of Secret Weapons. Also if anyone wishes to assist me in the mod, I could sure use the help.

well im still updating alpenfestung to the newest fh2 patch. when its complete i will probably release a public version which you are free to use for your mod. although psykfallet and a few others may have not liked the map, there are plenty of players that did enjoy the map in fh2.

Me-262 was not a "secret weapon". it was introduced in 1944 and saw quite a bit of regular combat.
Was in FH1 and may be added to FH2 someday (if we have more late 44 early 45 maps).

I believe they put the Me-262 into one of the WaW tournament maps or something like it. I also only mentioned the Me-262 because it was an experimental technology and the most advanced aircraft in the German arsenal at the time.

Started work on creating the Goliath Tracked Mine. I already know its not a secret weapon but I think it would make an interesting addition to tank combat and ambushes.

So it seems i've found someone who has already modeled a lot of the stuff from the FHSW mod and is now helping me to develop some for the FH2SW. He's already got some vehicles like the USA's B17 Flying Fortress and the Airborne Glider. Also does anyone know about any maps based on Vierville.

So you're allowed to use all of their vehicles/maps etc.?
Well they will get in trouble then because they traded some vehicles with BG42 and they aren't allowed to pass these to someone else.

Not that I know of but if you make one I will find it a nice home! Just talking about that yesterday actually.

The V2 seems like an integral part to the Nazi terror machine and would make for a great addition to any maps such as Operation Flat-bird (fictional). I'll also look into the Fa-223 and see how it can fit into some maps.

BF2 had the missile which you could make it manuover in the air when in the gunner seat of the ah1z. Have you considered a similiar system like that for the goliath or the V2? This might be useful if not considered yet. :)

Well i'm sure the Battlefield 3 engine would be able to handle a mod of this quality. OH WAIT, they're banning people for a little brightness mod. It saddens me but i'll just have to live with what I can make do with.

Well I could always just keep building the experimental vehicles and artillery. It shouldn't be impossible to make a Sturmtiger (Brummbar).

Hey, me again.
I think I finally might have found a legit way to implement the V2. There is the mode for guiding your missile through the air when you right click on the BF2 AA gun. That might work! :D

My main issue about developing this for Secret Weapons is how to keep it balanced so that one sides not at a complete advantage. Maybe making a limited amount of them?

Three of them spawing through the batttle time, or spawning one or two when Axis couldnt capture the first few control points maybe?

I have a feeling it might actually get in IF it is up to standard. Not neccesarily in the current situation, but
you'd get real adoption by the community, even a dev mapper if it measures up - And I so want it to.

Bad news guys about the V2 rocket platform: Its nearly impossible to do. Good News: I've started working on a V1 Rocket Truck (which exists) and players will get some control with the direction of the rocket using it in such purposes as anti-aircraft or anti-vehicle. I've also got an idea for attaching a V1 rocket to a Heinkel He-111

Its the Bristol-Beaufighter right now, which isnt German.

Thank you because I plan to bring some slightly bigger planes as well as some great ones to the minimod such as the British Meteor, DH.100 Vampire, and Avro Lancaster. American planes such as the XP-56 Black Bullet or the infamous "Flying Pancake" XF5U but i'll also try to make a better C47 for the game for the allies as well. The Germans will probably receive the most planes but that doesn't mean it will give them an overwhelming advantage. I've been doing extensive work on the Heinkel He 219 Uhu as well as the Do 335 Pfeil. No one think that i'm being one-sided by giving all the Germans the good stuff but its mainly because they had such a good Wunderwaffe program. Though i'm still sad to say that I have nothing to show yet as we're still trying to perfect this mod to Forgotten Hope 2 standards. I would hate to reveal this mod and it be nothing but a laughing stock.

Great ideas on the planes and jets. Especially about the flying pancake :) And dont act too quick, take your time and correct the things you want to be perfected. Dont worry, noones gonna say "Come on! Where is the first release?!" So, work on things as much as you can and when you are satisfied with your work, release it, and enjoy the glory! :) Also I have a question for you, are you planning to make handweapons? If you are, which ones are you gonna make? (I'd suggest the StG Vampir nightvision if you can) ;)

Good suggestion on the StG Vampir night vision (which I also plan to equip on a half-track and a Panther). I have thought long and hard on making hand weapons for this game such as the M18 Recoilless rifle, MP18, AT rifle grenades, molotov cocktails, and the Solothurn s-18/1100.

The MP18 and the solothurn would be a nice addition. We already have the solothurn mounted on the Sahariana, so that might be useful.

I'd feel uncomfortable taking someone elses work so i'm just gonna make a new He-111 for the game. Now I'd also like some suggestions for maps that would be great to introduce some of these vehicles such as Gold Beach which I plan to give the British the Churchill AVRE and Churchill Crocodile to clear away those pesky entrenched Germans.

Its basically a jeep that can fly and land into enemy territory and drive there.

It also shouldn't be impossible to make a Hamilcar aircraft to transport these light tanks into battle. I hope to also make a Me 323 Gigant for the Germans on maps like Invasion of Crete. Or even create the Gunship version. I will not be faltered by such limits as I've seen people make extremely huge aircraft in other BF2 mods.

The Me323 is impossible for infantry to get in, since they will die inside the vehicle while taxi or take-off, but I dont know about vehicles. You might wanna put seats for the infantry. :)

I wouldn't want to be jumping up and down either in an aircraft like that especially with such heavy cargo like tanks. Putting seats is a good idea but survival of the crew depends on the skills of the pilot and the way in which they land. I don't think they actually developed aircraft for FH2 designed to land troops and items yet.

Well, there is the Ju52, but it cant carry any infantry more than 8 (due to engine limitations :-[ ) and it doesnt have enough place to carry any vehicles.

Well I don't want to exceed the limit on how many infantry can fit into the Gigant so it would probably be best if we kept it to a good 12 because there are going to be people in the tanks as well flying in the aircraft.

It only possible to put 8 people in a vehicle due to engine limitations. :'(

DARN THIS ENGINE well no worries we can always have the Gigant leading the charge dropping off the tanks so that the paratroopers can acquire them.

I think the bofors AA is already OP, but something which would fullfill the gap for the counterpart would be good. :)
Also another idea, we could add two vehicle drops for the commander; one that drops armour such as tanks or hanomags and one that drops transport like trucks and kubelwagens. The transport one should be available quicker, while the armour loads a little bit longer. But both should be able to drop with 30seconds of time.

How would that work something like that work exactly? I haven't ever seen it done before. I've also seen a British Willy's jeep equipped with armor and an AT rifle on the back.

You know about the Vehicle Drop commander asset in BF2? It was removed in FH2, but we could add it back with two options; one named Armour Drop and one named Transport Drop. They would be faster to load than the artillery and supply drop option, maximum 30 seconds in my opinion and the commander would drop them in a jiffy, one after one all over the places where the infantry has landed.
Nice idea on the armoured jeep, note the rotabuggy I suugested before, which could both be made easily with tweaking the original jeep from FH2. Also some improvements of the Bren carrier could be satisfying, like a light AA weapon mounted on it or sth like that.

Yes they do, but some mobile AA's touring around the airfield foolinf the German Stuka's would be nice, and if you are planning to land the plane on the airfield, the whole airstrip is full of shell holes so te plane would get damaged and explode, if not it would be a rough landing.

shoot I was hoping to give the British their own advantage in terms of aerial combat. Could we at least give them a slightly better ground advantage? Such as allowing them to have an experimental tank like the 6-Pdr Super Matilda?

Interesting idea, would fit its thick armour, in large amounts on every control point. Also other British vehicles could be added powerful weapons. Maybe add a cannon to the Marmon-Herrington armoured car instead of a fast fire AA gun?

A Bren carrier equipped with a PIAT or the Multiple PIAT carrier. In terms of AA tanks, we could introduce the MK.V Light AA Tank.

Yeah, that would be a cool addition, the FH1 secret weapon had it. About the multiple piat thingy; a counterpart for the stuka zu fuss hanomag would be nice. Not with an artillery setup though.

Oh, one more thing for the Axis; if the Opel Blitz Brennstofftransporter could be driveable, it would be pretty cool. And when it explodes, a huge blast and flaming petrol everywhere; just like the Wasp Carrier explosion. Not exactly a secret weapon, but extremely dangerous suicide vehicle! 8)

Well If there was some way to create a Goliath along with its control station it would be possible to create a weapon of pure destruction. I see no real use in suicide vehicles besides the famed Japanese Ohka suicide bomber.

Yes, it will basically be a flying supply truck with more seats. :)

Oh! How about a system like the nebelwerfer for the V2? Basically someone would spot a target and it would fire the Missile, basic artillery system. :)

I think the V2 is too large for actual use in the game so I plan to use the V1 rocket instead and i'll build the V2 as more of a prop.

I don't have any interest of showing off anything until its at least FH2 tier. I'm not about just getting stuff as quickly out there as possible. I've seen results of that such as that Experience WW2 mod made a good few years ago. I'd be glad to give previews of my groups work to those who make some contributions like models, maps, or ideas. Until then let us work and we hopefully will have our first release by the end of 2012.

I was just playing on todays session of Umeboshi and it looks like they will stick with their own server for now.

BF1942 is already patched if you download it from Origin.

Well for some reason I can't download the Fan map pack because the Map-pack download requires it to be patched to 1.6b.

The mappack is required for some maps but you should still be able to install and play FHSW on the other maps. You need FH though, how did you manage to install it?

Well of course its still gonna be a WWII title and we're mainly being influenced by such games as Natural Selection 2 and Planetside 2. So if you could imagine a WWII FPS/RTS then thats what we're aiming for.
