Title: Max Payne 3
Post by: Biiviz on 19-04-2012, 21:04:14
Max Payne 3 is to be released May 15, 2012. This time around the game will be produced by Rockstar Games instead of Remedy Entertainment who made the last two entries in the series. I was skeptical of this change at first, but the video clips found at their website seem intriguing. Also, the game will have multiplayer.

So, anyone else played the earlier games? Psyched about the next game yet?

So they pretty much turned the film noire/graphic novel style into GTA Vice City?

In reference to the cinematic style, yes. However, comparing it to Vice City is hardly fair. All I can think of when VC and the GTA series is mentioned is bugs, glitches, weird floating arrows, terrible animations and weak sound effects.

...but on the other hand, all I can think of when Max Payne is mentioned is:

Exactly my thoughts when I saw the guy in the Hawaiian shirt.

I also didn't like the change at the beginning, but I'm going to give it a try, its Rockstar after all
Max with hair and leather jacket is still there though.

You guys sound like little kids waiting for their christmas present without knowing what it is....

Wait for the game, play it and then you can complain if you dont like it.

Or maybe im getting old....

Nevertheless, im looking forward for this! One of my next buys for sure.

Hmm... New Max Payne looks quite old... But, I must admit - the urban environment of San Paolo looks great!!!

When such a venerable series gets a dev change, of course there's going to be some concern. For example, what I see is Red Dead Payne 3: Cartel Nightmare.

But like you said, try before you buy. However that comes with its own hitches.

Max Payne 1 and 2 were simply great.  8) Immersive story line, BULLET TIME, shady characters and so on and so forth. Would love to give this a try!
btw Has anyone seen the specs needed for this game to run smoothly? (my ageing machine most probably  doesn't simply have enough power to run it)  :'(
