Hy 1rtly i want to say that iam an old player of forgotten hope , i used even to make my own textures for german units .
It is by far the best mod of any kind that i have ever played.
But i want your lights here, my Fh2 2.2 when i had 16 bots used to crash but periodically , i was playing and after half of an hour or so i might have a crash with a windown that was suggesting to me that if i wanted i could have reported the error to fh2 team.
When then i have read and followed the instructions on how to increase the bots in sp game from the deafautlai then the crashes were almost immdiate.
Well it is such a pity when i tried to play that magnificent mod with glorious numbers of enemies that would have made it more cinematic and realistic and i cannot because it crashes
Can anyone please tell me why when i use more bots the game crashes , and is there any solution to that problem?
And 2ndly can anyone please give me instructions on how to play that mod in multiplayer?

Not sure about adding more bots but for Multiplayer, make sure you have the 1.5 patch, updated punkbuster from evenbalance.com, and of course the mod version 2.2. witht that you should be set

what excatly do i have to download from that site, cause there are a lot of files

go to BF2-->to download --> then hit PB setup. When that is downloaded, select BF2 from the list to check for updates
Note: I forgot to tell you that this is only required if punkbuster keeps kicking you

Ok i have installed pb and i have added the bf2 game , now what do i have to do in order to play it.
forgive me for the many questions i havent done this before

After you've updated punkbuster by doing an update, double click on the FH2 shortcut, and log into a multiplayer account(create one if you haven't already), and click multiplayer and join a server that has some people on it with a low ping. That's about it.

Crashes happens on all maps?
Keep in mind some maps crashes after a while, maps like Goodwood and Aberdeen will crash after, in goodwood, the Sherman spawns. And Aberdeen, no idea.

i have noticed that in aderdeen when i added more bots the game crashed immediately when i had 16 bots the game was taking far more to crash
Well to be more precise every signle map that i tried was crashing when i added more bots, not immediately many maps were taking more from others to crash but the final conclusion is that every map crashes when i add more bots

i have tried another mod and the same error does not exist.
I think maybe there is something wrong in the mod that can be fixed
PLEASE FH2 team FIX THIS!

What are your system specs?
And how many bots are you trying to run?
My specs:
CPU: Opteron 170 (@ 2.4GHz)
RAM: 2 Gig
GFX: 9600GT
I can run 31 bots (max difficulty), anymore and it gets too laggy.

i have quite good specs ,4gb double core cpu
i can add 100 bots without serious lagging but it crashes after a while
not in all the mods i use

Try increasing the amount of bots in steps...e.g: Instead of 100 bots, first try 32 and see if it still crashes.
And try it on Crete, Giarabub, or Siege of Tobruk (I haven't had a CTD on those maps).
What type of RAM have you got? DDR, DDR2, or DDR3?
Could you post a copy of your aidefault file?
And SP Goodwood is SNAFU. The Shermans aren't the only problem on this map, I've replaced them and it still randomly CTD's.

Sorry for my persistance on this i have done it allready using alot of bot numbers the mod crashed with every bot number choice i have done , but as the bots increased the crashes increased also, the aidefault that i use for fh2 is exactly the same i use for anohter mod witch i dont want to name , the problem in that mod doesnt exist at all, although Fh2 is far superior from that mod unfurtunately gives me those crashes, i suspect something of course, i will try to use many bots in a previous fh2 patch, not in 2.2 if the problem disappears i will then reinstal the 2.2 that i will download from a different source hopefully this will answer to me many questions

The only other thing I can think of is, try running the game in a window, when it crashes it should give you an error message (not the FH error msg).
Do you CTD when playing online? If so, maybe your install is corrupted...

i have tried a previous version of fh2 the problem was gone, i have downloaded again the 2,2 installed it and played , the problem is still there, the game crashes when i play with alot of bots, i enter the map i spawn i start the battle and after a while the game crashes

That's your problem. CD-keys in BF2 are tricky. I tried to take a few from the net but it didn't work out that way because they were bad keys. I have no way to fix that sorry

As i said the 2.15 version didnt gave me those crashes despite the number of bots i used, the problem was a product of 2.2
I now want to know, is 2.2 version a stand alone version?
What do i have to install in order to play it?
I have my 1.5 patch, do i have to install the 1.5 server files?
Before i was able to go in multiplayer mode and join a server although i got the massage that i didnt have a valid cd key, now when i try to join a server the game crashes...
I urge you to try 60 or more bots in 2.2 and try to play any map in single player, i think that after a while your game will crash, this is what happening to me.
I got some crashes when i played with 16 bots but those were quite rare, the crashes were increasing as the bots increased

I used 2.15 with 1.5 patch with no problem what soever
were excatly do i add those lines? and i add this "+fullscreen 0 +sx1280 +sy1024" or this +fullscreen 0 +sx1280 +sy1024

Right click on your FH2 shortcut, go to Properties and add it to the end of the Target line. Remember to put a space after the ".
E.g. "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\FH2.exe" +fullscreen 0 +sx1280 +sy1024

i did it played in windowed mode, with 80 bots, "the same amount witch i use in previous patches of fh2 and with another ww2 mod without problem.
The same happened the game crashed after a while ,(while i was shooting some americans) with a window telling me that "fh2 crashed do you want to report to fh2 team?"
No difference whatsoever
I was playing the luttinch map ( the same problem was repeated in every 2.2 map that i used)
i have 4gb ram
intel core 2 duo cpu
3.17ghz
os windows xp home edition
I am sure it is not a hardware issue cause as i said the previous version runed smoothly
Iam just getting this annoying error.
I wonder here , i have patched my bf2 with 1.5 patch but i firstly patched it with 1.4 and then with 1.5 is there any possibility that the error is caused because of that ? Maybe i should have used 1.4.1 and then 1.5?
But my bf2 is currently 1.5 patched so i really doupt that.
Does anyone has the same issue i mean have anyone used more than 50 bots in single player and played for hours without any problem? Cause this might be a generic error and not a unique error that happens only in my pc.
And just for the record i used 2.15 with 1.5 patch and there was no problem at all
i have played on windowed mode the game was operating in window mode and i have inserted those lines before i started it.
i dont know if the game crashes cause i play in normandy maps, i have also tried to play the el alamein map in single player mod with 100 bots that i used to play in 2.15 without a problem , and the same thing happened the game crashed after a while.
But i repeat i did not got any windows except the fh2 crashed window when i operated in a windowed mod,

100 bots is very hardware intensive.
Have you tried defragmenting your harddisc lately? It might have had some fragmentation that now pushes the game over it's edge.
And again, not all maps are AI meshed in the Normandy part of 2.2 which leads to crashes on most maps. Check the SP threads to see which.

and guess what a new problem emerges i was trying to play multiplayer and it was giving me the not valid cd key witch is normal.
Now it just crashes to desktop...

So what was the message in the background displayed by BF2 upon crashing?

I just hope the upcoming update will get rid of those crashes!
Iam going to re buy Bf2 just for the mod, hopefully i am going to have results i hope
