Actually they where one of the best Price/effectiveness mines out there
-i am fairly sure that if they took porn off the internet, there would only be one website left and it would be called bring back the porn "Perry cox, Scrubs.

Mines are a pain in the arse and I detest them.

I'm still for this suggestion - I'm sure soldiers who have run ontop of a mine in real life aren't too fond of them either.

In my opinion AP mines don't belong in the game.
AP mines were normally not used by regular infantry units, only by pioneers to block entire passages that were known as minefields to all friendly units. Not to block a stairway or a house entrance so a sniper sitting there is better protected (What is a s-mine doing in a sniper kit anyways?)  The selfish habit to place those mines in friendly territory to protect oneself is a real pain for any other friendly soldier who unexpected runs into them.

Unless the mod at some point would reach such a tactical level that designates pioneer units can block entire passages with a minefield and force the enemy to slowly clear it or take a alternative route, I see no  appropriate  use for them.

Just don't get killed, your mines will stay longer... ;)
Uping it to 2min could be fine, but i really don't want to see a mine spam all over the map.

Thats why also the amount of mines need to be reduced

IRC it is 4 now. Thats 40kg of mine you are carrying along.

   How about no, mines are just annoying and destroy the gameplay on public servers because people lay them random places and kill friendly players rather than opponent players.
Basically, axis bias has removed. Glad its being noticed.

And about s-mines. Why not add little red dot on map when you lay it? Dot would disappear after mine disappears. Would save people from teamkills, even if mine layer was idiot placing it on stupid place.

It´s a weapon and you will always have some noobs Teamkilling on purpose or maybe they are just learning how to use it effectively. You wanna remove Rifles as well ?

I´m all for brining back the mine-laying APC. Brings new tactical possibilities to the game.
The sniper having an s-mine is not realistic at all, they were used by pioneers only in defensive situations. But still we have them, and I think the s-mines are a nice addition to the game and would not remove it.
Maybe it would make sense to have pioneers with either 3 AT mines or 3 s-mines, so they could effectively mine against Infantry as well and place mine flags with it.
