That spin the first minute had me worried for a bit to be honest.

Did he broke the speed record?

I saw the est. speed indicated more than 1,170 km/h at time.

Speed record yes, longest freefall sadly no.

Anyways, bravo Felix. That man seriously has some balls. Overwhelming to watch this jump.

Jumps from 120,000 FT, lands like a boss.

Milton Gault roared, "Roffey, I know bloody well that Jerry knows we are here but you don't need to advertise the fact!"

I though it would be possible to see his jump by the cameras mounted on his uniform - I thought he turned on some cameras on him before the jump, didn't he?

Anyway, this guy has balls!  ;D

Edit: And how you can brake the longest freefall record and speed record in the same time - doesn't make sense...

Yeah, that looked quite dangerous, he was spinning all over the place.

I´m glad he made it and also a bit glad that he didn´t break the freefall record. That way Kittinger has kept his own, while Baumgartner still broke 3 records.

I´m not sure if he was faster than sound, though. Wiki says that speed of sound is 343 m/s or 1234,8 km/h and as Zoo said, he was slower than that. His chute also opened before the planed 5000 feet, so maybe he really was too slow.

Good job, anyway. I´m glad he came down safe. The view his cameras provided was spectacular and when he stepped off the platform I really held my breath. Balls of steel!
And so he spoke, and so he spoke, that lord of Castamere,
But now the rains weep o'er his hall, with no one there to hear.
Yes now the rains weep o'er his hall,
and not a soul to hear.

The speed of sound is 340m/s at sea level. At an altitude of 30 000m it's only 300m/s.

Aaah, I see. So it seems like he made it. Can´t wait for the exact data from the capsule plus the footage from his own cameras. Will make for some spectacular images.
Btw, did someone understand what he said before he jumped?
Also, is Youtube down? :D

He said that it looks quite high from here or something like that!  ;D

So was there any transmission from his cameras during the jump?
