Suggestions / HE question
« on: 17-12-2021, 20:12:27 »
Hi,

Have the developers considered turning down the HE a little? It seems like it is a little OP right now. I was watching a 20mm shooting into the ceiling of a room, killing everyone with splash damage.

I get the impression this idea was dismissed.

It would nice if the Germans could have spawnable AT mine kits so they could do something to set up a defense.

Suggestions / Side stepping with the M1 Garand
« on: 28-03-2020, 18:03:40 »
I've notice that the M1 Garand is impossible to aim while side stepping because it bounces around to the point that the sights are complete out of alignment. However, if you perform the same maneuver with the G43, the sights stay dead nuts center. I find other rifles bounce a little, but still are able to be aim. I'm wondering why the Garand is so different, and whether or not it can be addressed?

General Discussion / Do people still play FH2?

Do people still play FH2? How is the population these days? I have an upgraded computer and was debating re-installing, but the US servers were always empty in the past.

I would like to argue against this, but can't.  American's seem to like run and gun games, especially on PS and Xbox.

I guess my perspective may be skewed since I am a US player.  I only see a full server on the weekend, and with my wife coming of her weekend shift soon, my game time will be considerable less.

To be 100% honest, I do not know why the DEVs still work on this mod.  I love FH2, but its future is limited because it is a niche mod, and appeals to a certain type of player.  As much as I love what you have created, it does bother me that you guys are devoting so much to game that will likely continue to decline.

I've really come to enjoy most of the desert maps.  They definitely require patience and different strategy.  Artillery is king in the desert for sure, so I do a lot of artillery spotting to cover an advance.

The Tannenburg Line might be a good map option for the future

Interesting that they did this on imfdb. I've seen FH2 referenced in several wikipedia pages but it never links back to a unique FH2 page, while PR does. Any concerns about someone creating this?

Don't count on the devs for anything. It'll take thirty years to write a line of code

Airshark, have you ever seen the movie ghost town?  If you haven't, there is a line from a movie that I think is perfect for you.

"...at some point in your life, you're gonna have to stop and ask yourself the ultimate question. This business of... being such a fucking prick, what is it really getting me?"

I see that a few years ago the PR community had a petition out to DICE.  It might be nice to know if they ever received a response.

I think it is important to remember that the FH Mod team is a group of individuals working on something they love; they are not a company.  When you ask them to do something potentially illegal, regardless of what another group has done, you are asking them to personally take on that legal risk.  You are just as much part of this community as the FH Mods, so if you want something more for this game, don't sit around complaining about them not doing it for you... take some initiative and approach the situation yourself, but legally so others may benefit from it without fear of repercussions.
