Can anybody summarize what this guy is saying?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y47Di5b57Js
Thanks in advance!
-
From about 1:30 onwards he says that the atmosphere really gives the impression the player is but a simple, insignificant trooper, about whom nobody cares when he gets shot. It is for a good portion focused on squad-based tactics, explains how some squads can take the arty, others infantry etc. (till about 2:50)
from 2:50, historical realism thingy, maps very well made, weapon and vehicle model quality very good, near true to life...
from 4:15: Pointe du Hoc short historical summary
from 5:00: Itals in the game: Italian biassed comment on the above average quality of the Italian faction, very diverse vehicles. For an Italian like himself, he's proud to see the italians so well made, more bias, comparison with FH1, MoH, MoH Airborne, etc.
An Italian will do a better job, but this is to give you an idea
-
Thank you! He also posted a second video now:

I am proud to see this video! I might not be italian but i am dam proud of the FH2 italian faction, my 3 carcano's, my demill Bomba a mano, my italian bandages, my Breda 37 ammo box and clips
*salutes

Ts, do note that I made that by what I think he said, or at least what I could understand, an Italian will give a far better translation

Hello everybody!
i am the author of the video! thank you very much for the attention!! i made this video to review in a very simple and amateuristic way FH2 in italian to advertize this wonderful mod to the italian folk!
this is the short summary of what i said in my videos:
FIRST PART
-from 0:00 to 1:12 i premise that i am not a computer expert and i played very little at FH1, i found this game beautiful, indeed.
-from 1:12 to 2:43 i speak about tha ATMOSPHERE you can feel in the game: you play as a private, you feel really like a simple private, you act like in a true battle with tactics and good use of arty and tanks
-from 2:43 to 4:58 i speak about HISTORICAL REALISM: i say that i personally judge ww2 games also for their accuracy, because i am interested on history, particularly on ww2, and FH2 is perfect about this. i say that the programmers are great dudes, and i found fantastic that programmers made a great job in modelising realistically and historically all the maps, weapons and vehicles. a particular example of this work is pointe-du-hoc, in which we find trees instead of german cannons and the americans have thermite nades to destroy those cannons...and so was!
-from 4:58 to the end of the first part i talk about the ITALIAN FACTION: i am italian and i am very interested about how the ww2 italian faction is made in videogame history (i talked about FH1, MoH airborne, MoH breakthrough, Panzers phase two, A shitty game named The royal marines commando, BF 1942 the road to rome, Hidden and Dangerous 2 and H&D2: sabre squadron) but for this i will make another video, totally didicated to italians in ww2 videogames. Then i say that FH2 is for now the game with the BEST presence of italian faction: they have plenty of realistic weapons, vehicles and some dedicated map (i wish there will be more of 'em, like Op. Husky and so on).
SECOND PART
-from 0:00 to 5:49 i talk about GAMEPLAY REALISM: i repeat that you play a simple private who can be killed with a single bullet, then i say that really like the realistic lack of ammo and the small number of submachine guns, anti tank weapons, and sniper rifles (not like CoD or MoH series...), so the rest of the soldiers have usually a bolt action rifle....like ww2! i repeat that arty and tanks if well used can be vital for victory, after i say that all this realism does not affect the action side of the gameplay: i find this like an upgraded version of CoD fightings. then i say that i find splendid the sounds of battle you hear during the game: they make the gamer feeling like in the battle!
-from 5:49 to 8:07 i speak about 2.45 VERSION: maps are modified not to bore players, there are new maps (i find keren the best), new weapons, new vehicles and combat sounds are increased...it's a good improvement!
-from 8:07 to the end i say that this game is perfect for ww2-addicted gamers, but it is also good for normal gamers, because it is entertaining. i advise everybody to buy BF2 and download FH2!
then i thank my friend and he tells some bullshit...enjoy!

Hey! Welcome! :)

For some reason that last line really tickles me.

my mate says something about his youtube profile's nickname: he says that is stupid but he can't manage to change it....just this, nothing about FH2 :P
-

While some dare to diss on the italian faction for the typical stereotype reasons... You will find that many in this community love to play with the italians. And consider it a challenge to play with them.
Me being one of them. I have always had a fond for the italian army of WW2. The carcano family was the first family of rifles i collected(My collection being the Carcano fucile di fanteria 1891, Fucile di fanteria M41 and Moschetto Modello 38). And i always search for italian goodies of WW2 and WW1 on militaria fairs.
Here is one of my beauties

;D oh god! die salute! that's a funny video!
I know the stereotypes on italian soldier, but i find them stupid: my grandma's brother died in el alamein as fighter pilot in 1942 and another brother served as an alpini trooper. and they weren't the typical coward mafiosi, pizza-eater, latin lover guys. (sorry for the bias, it wasn't for argueing :) )
Dude, you have a masterpiece! i love carcano rifles!
-
Hey, cool to have the author of such a nice vid over here! Forza Italia! I hope you can persuade many Italians to join FH2!

I'll show you the other ones soon. A fucile di Fanteria 1891 long infantry rifle built in 1894! But in PERFECT condition
And a Moschetto modello 38 in 7.35x51. One of the modello's wich where sold to Finland.
-
I played Italians because of that seemingly impact-fused Bomba-a-mano grenades.
They are fun! ;D
FORZA!

Wow! where did you find them? were they expensive?
-
I found them in Belgium. And they where not expensive. Carcano is shunned here by mauser and lee enfield fanboys. Calling it a useless piece of shit and such :(
This is however, good for prices. I am one of the few who bought carcanos ;D
I payed 220 euro for my Fucile di fanteria 1891
160 for my modello 38
And 220 for my Modello 41
-
Does the supposedly weaker Carcano have any difference ingame vs other rifles?
-

Not really. The 6.5x51 had problems with lethalithy on ranges of 1000 meters IRL, but that cant be reflected into FH2
-
I actually just shot my Carcano M1891 (mfg in 1897) today! I love the thing. Although most Mannlicher based actions have a long reach to work the action (reaching up to the bolt handle), they are very sturdy. I am getting a M1891 cavalry carbine later this week.
In my own ballistics tests (involving bricks, sandbags, and quite a few other things) the 6.5x52mm round is just as effective as something like 8x57mmJS (used in things like the Gew. 98 rifles and many others), the 7.62x54R (Mosin-Nagant) and .303 British. The only downside to the Carcano series rifles was the Mannlicher en bloc magazine. While being faster to reload, it couldn't be single loaded and was an entry point for dust and dirt. Even my refurbished M1891 had some sand left over in the magazine from Africa (in the grease of course).

Definitely a gun I'd wanna take to the range, but I don't have the money for a WWII collection, let alone a proper collection.

Are the FH dev's ever going to do an Anzio or Monte Casino or any other Italian map? That and the Pacific theater as well as Opperation Market Garden are the only things missing after 2.5 for this to be really complete :D

For Monte Cassino the map should have the Polish faction.
