BfMeshView 2.2.0 released
« on: 04-10-2012, 20:10:34 »
I just released a new version (BfMeshView 2.2.0)! Last release was over a year ago!

http://www.bytehazard.com/bfstuff/bfmeshview/

UPDATED: please re-download if your version reports as v2.1.0!

The highlights:
* full BF2 shader emulation
* support for suffixed textures
* added vehicle component positioning (loads .CON)
* added CollisionMesh color legend
* experimental SkinnedMesh vertex weight tools
* much improved UV editor
* integrated animation player with main window
* lots of bug fixes, performance tweaks and improved compatibility

Feedback welcome. Please report regressions and new bugs.

The .exe still says v2.1.0, that's not right....?

And there's a .svn directory in the zipfile ;).

Whoops! Looks like something went wrong with the upload or something got mixed up. At any rate, I failed to verify the download. Should be fixed now! Please re-download and nuke the old one.

Could you please share with us what would the practical use of the skin tool be?

Well say you spend time making a really great weight table, export the mesh, go in-game, and find that by some strange happening a vertex on his foot is attached to a bone in the head and its causing a strange stretching issue. Well you could go and just, fix that vertex, and not have to re-export or screw with a weight table.

So I've got this problem: I can't see any mesh in the normal rendering mode, only the Vertex order and Triangle overdraw rendering modes work... I suspected some kind of virus but I ran a scan and that should not be the case. Any idea what might be wrong? It's been 2 months since I've last done some work with this and now the models just don't show up :-\

I'm still having the same issue as well.

What gpu drivers are you using? I haven't changed a thing HW-wise on this PC and this worked fine months ago, so I have a feeling it might be drivers related.

I wanted to get some more animations done, but without this tool, it's a big no-no.

This tool can be improved by creating a new and improved compile to game / mod feature.

Have it point to the main mesh, LOD's and materials and compile for game ready use.

so I tried to load some bf2 models with it, and it worked fine... but they were without textures as I haven't set the path to bf2 textures, so I tried to load a model from fh2 with textures disabled and it worked. but when I try to load the textures as well, the tool crashes.
