Good meuning Dear FH'2ers. I'm gonna make this tactic/tutorial topic regarding one of the finest American vehicles of current FH2. And how to use it on its current only map=Operation Lüttich.
The M8 GreyhoundMy second favorite FH2 vehicle. This little nifty armoured car is a fantastic vehicle. Why is it a Fantastic vehicle? Because it is fast. Real fast. It allows you to do things, wich have only matched one other unit= The dingo. But since the dingo only appears on a wide open desert, it is, on the foggy bocages of Luttich, that the Greyhound can become the feared hunter.
Together with his rival, the Puma, this thing becomes the terror of the forces on the field, if used properly.
Allow me to explain.
1.
The greyhound itself- The greyhound is an armoured Car. It was first designed as a.......tank destroyer but thank god the americans saw it was terrible as this, so it was used in the reconnaissance role.
In wich it was armed for. You have one 37MM gun, a .30CAL and a .50CAL at ur disposal.
37MM M6 gun
People may LAUGH at this cannon, but it can become the perfect weapon for this job. The 37MM gun penetrates aprox 36MM of armor with standard AP ammo. APC ammo can penetrate as much as 61MM, but it issent included. So we dont care for that.
Now. On operation Luttich, you will encounter 4 diffrent AFV. The Panzer IV Ausf H. The StuG III 40, The Panther Ausf A and the SDKF234 Puma. Its important to know, what damage you can deal.
See ur speed as ur weapon, try to ambush german tanks, and shoot them in the rear.
Panzer IV= Shoot him in the behind. I took out Panzer IV's with one shot, and maximum 2 shots. You can quickly get behind this one.
Panther ausf A= Dont bother. Run with ur tail between ur legs! The only place where u can damage it, is the engine roof armor. But since this bastard tank has a turret traversing so fast...........you get the point, Dont disturb the Panther.
StuG 40= Here is my favorite prey. But it is a little tricky. I once took out StuG's by firing at the sides. But many times the shots deflect. Firing at the Roadwheel, seems to make this thing blew up skyhigh.
Going for the rear is reccomended. It is a sitting duck then, and most of the times, the StuG is immobile, firing at long range, so once ur behind, its playtime.
Now the Rear armor doesnt seems to be damaged by the 37MM gun, or i have became lunatic. However, the Rear of the superstructure is vurnable. It takes 2 shots, sometimes 1 when the Stug is a bit damaged, to bring it down.
Thats the area you wanna fire at.
Puma= No words needed. Just fire, it blows up.
M2 Browning .50CALWhile you should stick with ur 37MM gun at most times, this .50CAL can sometimes be usefull. You can use it to shoot infantery, and trucks and Halftracks. Remeber, their issent a damage indicator when firing, lets say a Hanomag. That doesnt mean that the bullets arent hitting! Keep firing at it, if possible at the engine compartiment, and it will be ripped apart pretty soon.

TacticsUsing the greyhound issent like charging a Panther tank deadon. The key of this vehicle is it speed, and you have to switch between Bocage, road, and fields as much as you can, to find a unit, see if you can handle it, and then take it down. If you are seen, quickly drive back to the road, and make ur getaway in the Bocage and its fields. The best way, imo, is to drive around with a HE shell loaded. 90% of the time, when u have flanked or backed ur enemy, he dint noticed you. So this gives you a nice time to load up that AP shell.
I took the map of Luttich, and tried my best of good hunting grounds, places to cover infantery assaulting a flag(Or be the SL), Places where u should be very cautios, and places where u should stay the fck out.
The color explanation
Yellow= Path of patrol. These are good roads to follow, to switch to the bocage field or to do other things.Once again= Switch regulary Off-road/Bocage field to avoid seeing a Panther tank Dead-on 50 Meters away and its Otto.Zeimer or Corvax sitting in it. Trust me, you're dead.
Blue= These are Excellent positions to stay at, to cover infantery assaulting the flag, to Make the germans their live a miserable hell, or to defend at. Also good places to wait at, then watching a German squad assaulting ur flag, and then giving them a warm welcome from that position.
Brown/bordeax= These are areas you should be cautios, as this is an area where i, most of the time, died by either a panther or some other german armor. These are particular spots where u will find the common german Panzerboy. Either supporting his troops, or simply, 70% of the time, simply lobbing HE shells and MG fire at troops spawning at the flags.
Green= These little places, should be checked first before crossing. If you go to the right, check the left first. and visa versa. Cross them ASAP.
Red= Stay the heck out of their. You DONT wanna be their. Those places are deathtraps
3.Infantery= Regarding them=Hunt them down. Keep up ur speed, to avoid panzershreck, and try to attack them when ur side is facing them, so you can manouver well. Also dont forget to use the Canister shot! Its nice to have a Gaint shotgun Plus they can prove helpfull when ur HE might damage friendly troops
I hope this short little tutorial can help the allied tanker out their,to survive in this harsh conditions. Most maps are german killwhore fests, and since the majority of the good players, seem to love to join the german team.......
Anyway, enough talking. Keep ur speed high, and happy hunting!
Comments, critism, complaints.......or suggestions are always welcome!
