Week 1

History
Biazza Ridge, Battle 1

On July 9th 1943 the Allied Forces unleashed Operation Husky on the Axis. The plan was the capture of the island of Sicily as a stepping stone to an invasion of Italy itself. The first wave of the invasion force was the airborne soldiers who had the job of securing the area behind the naval landing zones and blocking Axis counterattacks.

The Germans had long suspected an invasion of Sicily was coming and had moved the Herman Goering Panzer Division to a location near the American landing zones at the town of Gela. As the Allied planes roared overhead the German Panzers rolled forward to stop the Allies at the beach. All that stood between them was the scattered 505th airborne regiment of the 82nd "All American" on Biazza Ridge.

The Germans unleashed their ferocity on the "All Americans" but the elite paratroopers held their ground. Even with the support of Tiger tanks, the Germans were unable to break the American paratroopers and were forced to withdraw. Soon, as Allied Sherman tanks advanced of the beaches, the battle for Sicily was on...

New FH2 features!
Forgotten Honor's Minimod

The new FHT2 Add-On will bring you one step closer to the perfect WW2 tournament gameplay.

With the new spawn and flag-cap system every single soldier will count towards the final outcome of a battle. No more squadleader spawns, feel the pure squad gameplay in our Campaigns. Rallypoints and APCs are now strategical important in order to obtain victory.

New anti-tank weapons such has the Bazooka and the Dynamite will prove to be a big help in suppressing enemy armour. Besides, new buildings, bunkers and skins will bring you in depth to Italy 1943.

Here are just a few comments made by members regarding the new FHT2 Add-On:

"Okay, okay. After spending some time with the mod-testing on Sunday, I have to say I'm very impressed. Things went smoothly, the action was intense, and gameplay was excellent. No more SL's hiding in the meadows. And the parachuting spawn point blew my mind and was a total surprise for many of us. Good job to those that are doing the mod."

"best:
1 the mod
2 the mod
3 bazooka"

"I enjoyed being able to take down people quickly with an MG and not worry about someone quickly spotting me and shooting me with a rifle. It actually takes awhile to get back to a position you were killed from and I like that very much."

"And a confession:
- I was against no-SL-spawn rule, but I was wrong and I admit it. New system works like a charm and is by no means better than SL-spawning."

"The map was a beauty and with the FHT mod and new gameplay it is just awesome, cheers to the hard working mapping team"

"Playing on a new map with unique new aspects, terrain and weapons which is a priviledge worthy of subscriptions"

"Best: Feeling like FH1 again."

Correct it is from EOD Mod. But it didn't do us any good in battle, we got slaughtered by the Pz4 :( Still need to adjust to zook in FH2.

Anyway upcoming map is awesome, Operation Husky. So We are landing on the beaches of Italy. Map was made by HERO-war_3k and the FHT updated it with our minimod and extra's :)

Awesome update and congratz to Herc :)

I'd give my right arm to not have exams in a few weeks and be able to commit to this properly. I really, really hope the FHT guys and the FH2 devs can come to some agreement about including these maps in the mod in some way though (not a map-pack, please, we know how those [don't] work).

Everything we in FHT www.forgottenhonor.com make is there for the devs to pick up, but they decide if they want it or not. About the maps, we make high quality maps and I can only hope that the devs will add them together with other maps that are made by the community as a fanmappack in the official release, if not then we have to try to release it as a mappack and you all then must download it and hslan must run them :) Otherwise they go to waste.

But we are in close contact with the devs and I hope they can use allot of our stuff. So that would mean they can then focus on other projects.

Before we can start this, we first need to know how many clans are interested, before we do all the work. We can aim for upcoming Sunday April 19.

But we need to know who will be in. F|H will have 2 squads so that is 12 players. More I do not want from 1 community/clan cause a clash of clans is only fun with as much clans as possible.

So please reply here if you are interested to join and who you are and how many squads. Lets set the deadline to Tuesday evening and then we can also see if there is interest for this.

We have a map, server and if needed ts ready for this event. Just let me know here if you are interested.

293
I will add you to my msn tonight mate.

We have VOIP enabled so we can talk inthere, what would be a must is 1 commander for each side.

We are up for it 130th :)

Anyway Sgt D you are bringing up a valid point. The SL spawn tactic, I kind of use it without thinking about it. When we moved from FH1 to FH2 the SL spawn was a thing we all hated, but somehow we adjusted to it, but reading your posts I can only agree it is cheap and should not be used anymore.

I like the way it is in PR.

But since we do not have it that way, howbout we will start to play our matches without squads, so just 10 vs 10 the way we played FH1?

I am all for this, even better I just opened a topic about to start playing like this in our tournament again.

Just let me know what you guys think on this. It will bring back the quality of attack.

295
We for sure could organize a clash of clans for FH2.

2 squads of 79th, 2 of F|H, 2 of the 130th, 2 of waw and then there are still 8 slots open on each side for the 25th and 101st and whoever can join, we from F|H can throw an awesome custom map in. Just tell me here if we could organize this and we will do it for a sunday evening. :)
F|H can provide the map, organization, graphics to advertise and just make it look awesome and professional and spread it out so that many players in the BF2 scene will also see we are active and do cool events for FH2.

(no offense for the F|H, but as I said, you are nearly impossible to beat, as you so much want the victory you train for days, and don't hesitate to use all means available... add to this fine tactics and good players...)

We do not train for days mate, we trained 1 hour for each match. ;) But we do have a fixed team that knows eachother for years so it make feel like we trained that much.

Are we excluded or can we join later?

Lemme hear mate :)

Also I think this would get more squads interested to become the best.

Lets get this started fellas.

Forgotten Honor Tournament presents the first campaign playing Forgotten Hope 2.2: Normandy 1944.

In previous campaigns we have fought in the deserts of northern Africa, in the hills of Greece and in the towns of Italy. In this campaign we will move to France and fight on the beaches and the lush green countryside of Normandy. From frantic fighting on the beaches and ambushes among hedgerows to large scale engagements between tanks and airplanes.

Throw yourself in the mud for cover, fight through hedgerow after hedgerow, brace for shellshock as the ground around you is pounded by artillery fire and have faith in your company mates when you assault your objective. Every week your team's skills and planning will be tested against an equally determined foe.

When you join this campaign, Forgotten Honor: Normandy 1944, you will experience:

    - Forgotten Hope 2 at its best in Normandy

    - 128 players fighting for victory in battles raging over 2 servers at the same time

    - Great new unseen maps not released to the public

    - Coordinated teamplay between infantry, armour and air force

    - An improved and more realistic way of spawning on the battlefield

    - Promotions and rewards for your achievements

    - New friendships with likeminded people from all over the world

    - It is free, and everybody is welcome

Forgotten Honor Tournament has a wide experience in arranging campaigns for Forgotten Hope 2 and many other games. We are an international online community of players, created by players, run by players and maintained by players. We always strive to make the best campaigns for you, and our team of organizers and talented mappers are proud to announce this campaign open for signups. Old Campaign #4 won by Axis Division

After months of preparation Forgotten Honor is ready to present to you a new theatre: Italy.

Over the last 3 months our team of almost two dozen mappers, moddelers and graphic artists have worked on this campaign so that every single map will have that unique Italian feeling. There will be no reused old maps with a few minor changes. Each map has been made from scratch using actual battle plans and geographical data from the period.

Italiy is very different from Africa. Hilly terrain and dense vegetation provides many flanking opportunities and the introduction of new hand held antitank weapons finally allows infantrymen to effectively fight off enemy tanks.

For those that don't know anything about Forgotten Honor and are asking what exactly a "campaign" is, here is a brief explanation:

Every week until the campaign ends we will release a new map and each Friday a 64 player battle will take place. Players will be divided in two teams, with a command structure based on actual World War II units. No previous experience is needed and everything is completely free. Just click on the picture, join and enjoy Forgotten Hope 2 on an organized level.

  • Brand new, unseen maps, following a historically accurate storyline that will recreate in depth the Battle for Italy. From the beaches of Sicily to the fall of Rome.
  • 32 vs 32 battles every Friday night.
  • England based server with good ping for players from both USA and Europe.
  • Team play on the highest possible level.
  • Two armies lead by experienced and respected officers.
  • An original World War 2 chain of command with a complete rank system.
  • Earn medals for your personal and team accomplishments.
  • A unique atmosphere created by a very active and friendly community with people from all over the world.
  • All that and much, much more, completely free.
